John called the to bear fruits of repentance. They never believed. That’s why John refused to baptize them and called them a brood if vipers
John 1
22¶Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?
23¶He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.
24¶And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.
25And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?
26¶John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;
27He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.
28¶These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.
29¶The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
30This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.
31And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.

Why did John call the a brood of vipers and why did mark in Luke tell us they came to be baptized

Also are you going to answer my questions about baptism and remission of sin and acts 38 or not?

A lot of Christians and denomination s believe that Acts 2.38 is the plan or order of salvation. Or at least it is used to support a variation of .
Why is this the case given the context in a 'transitional ' book with 28 chapters ?
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Sure it is. The plan of Salvation is not complicated. "baptized in the name of Jesus"="Salvation". "Remission of sins"="Salvation". One receives the Holy Spirit at the time of Salvation. It does not matter who the immediate audience was at that particular moment. This Great Salvation is for you and I whosoever will may come today.

I don't think they came to be baptised by John . John's baptism would have not have been something those that had no change of mind about what John was preaching would want to do ( hence their rejection in luke 7.30 ) . They challenged John , they did not agree with him . Those Jews that had the change of mind jumped on the path that John was making which was indicated by His baptism . Jesus also is baptised by John to fulfill all righteousness. Which is a separate study all on its own.

Which
which english translation would you say is the closest to the greek ? what i mean is if it is the case that Peter is saying to Israel they need to1) repent ( because of the specific message given to THEM )
2) 38¶ and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins
3) , and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

you could pick any English translated and you would struggle not to come away with the idea that the order is
1) repent
2) be baptised FOR the remission of sins
3) then after you recieve the Holy Spirit .
Hence why we have so much confusion out there with different groups taking the order but missing the context.
Famously David Pawson uses Acts 2.38 as the order for the normal Christian birth . Namely 1 ) repent
2) Believe
3) baptise
4) recieve.
Luke 24:44-48 ESV

Then he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, and said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.”

The way some see Acts 2:38 leads them to assert that baptism is for the forgiveness of sins. Here Jesus says it is written that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in His name to all nations. Doesn’t this contradict that understanding of Acts 2:38?

Luke said they did should I call the author of Luke a liar?
again. Are you going to respond to my look at acts 2 in the Greek or just ignore it?

You have to compare acts 2:38 with Mark 16:16, and it will be clearer

The only way I can make sense of all of them together assuming the traditional English understanding of the verses is to say that they all have to work. If you do that, you begin to ask yourself, what is the simplest most direct route of all of these? That would be repentance or a change of mind (belief) for the forgiveness of sins.

Belief does satisfy obedience. 1 John 3:21-24

I understand why you prefer this. Most of us try to insert what we understand from the apostle Paul into all these instructions that were directed to the nation Israel, which in time past, had to show faith in God thru both faith and works.

But because we feel the 4 gospels should be about us too, we try to dance around clear passages like mark 16:16 and acts 2:38 to make them say something that they are not saying

My point of view is simple, the public speaking skills of Peter and Jesus is such that they don’t need our help

They say what they meant and they meant what they said

Plan of salvation is born again, than save.
John 3:6
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

No body save if not born again change from work for flesh into work for spirit

What is work for flesh

Galatians 5

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Born again will be bear the fruit of the spirit

Galatians 5:22 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith."

Some people don't believe that this is the sign of saved.

Some believe because save not by work than the saved is murderer, adulterer theaves as long as have faith

They not agree with Jesus that man must born again to be save

John 3
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Or agree with Jesus about born again to be save bit not agree that born from spirit mean gal 5:22

They think born or work of the spirit is murder, adultery idolatry etc as long as believe Jesus as god.

They? Did you mean him Christ? Faith has nothing to do with the corrupted flesh of men

No specific work is required for Salvation. It is a good sacrament of remembrance we can do after Salvation, but it is not a part of Salvation like receiving the Holy Spirit is.

😶Seems like I just saw this verse where JESUS was water baptized as an Introduction to Israel that this Is the messiah.☺️

My point is that God repents numerous times ,so we have to define what we mean . For some ' repent ' means ' turn from sins ' or ' stop sinning ' which would be false.
It should be clear that God doesn't repent as Man does and the English language is substandard to explain that, so Context is needed.

Yes, but No salvation without baptism in the name of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
My friend is gambler and adulterer, sleep, with different prostitute every week end. He has been spinkel baptized, his mam friend told her, Ask him to immersion baptism, It Will change him.
His mom did ask him and he did.
About 2 hour out from immersion baptism his friend call him and he back to gambling.

Only If a man baptized or immerss in the name of Father, Son and Holy Spirit Will be save

If immerse in to water save us, I Will immerse my self into water every day, I love close to the river

That was my story too at one time I thought I was baptized In the name of the FATHER SON and HOLY GHOST and threw all of my worldly music In the trash just to go back and get It all out of the trash a couple of hours later.I just said the words and I didn’t really feel convicted I just thought It was good for me to get saved thinking I was saved If I said the words.

No one can come to the WORD of GOD(JESUS) unless the FATHER Who sent JESUS draw him.talking about your conscience.
