That is the best piece of advice from anyone I’ve heard on here-I shall set about deleting my account and concentrate on asking the Holy Spirit (on which I’ve just read a whole book of bible quotes on) thank you 😊 ✝️💕

I understand what you are saying.....I watch horror movies.....so I guess that makes me a hypocrite......I must admit though, the gore is starting to get to me.

Hand it to God Bro......same as my swearing,I pray for God to make it less and he has.......none of us are perfect,I admire your honesty.
Yes I’m doing that with my rather fruitful language-asking the lord to help me (or rather not help me 🤬🤬)

I am told that is wrong but i fail to see the wrong doing in looking at one of gods creations-the female form

Anything that is not of the faith that comes from hearing God is sin. Do you think he desires that of you? If yes maybe why ?.

They seem to be of the avenues of this world. If a person burns with a desire he has created marriage as one of the two gifts . Single has it advantages just as marriage . Search for the gift as for silver or gold.

1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Thank you 😊 i am only being honest-I’m not a troll looking for an argument (which one reader thought) I am a struggling Christian ✝️ who just wants to know Jesus better. I’ve read several 📚 the Rick Warren famous one (which I’ve forgotten the name of and other Christian self help 📚) now i realise I should have stuck to the most important book of them all-which i have daily for sometime now 👍

But my posters do not effect my spiritual way whatsoever-it is only Christians with their obsession with sexual immorality that have a problem.
I feel your pain brother. I’m 84 years old and I love women, especially pretty women. What I do is pray about it. Even though I know Christ knows my weakness for women, I confess often about it to him and ask if I sin I pray his forgiveness.

The way I see it, in today’s world and modern female revealing dress, I sincerely hope our Lord has some mercy on our testosterone. I consider that what our Lord said about mental adultery meant to dwell on looking on a woman with lust in our heart is adultery, thus our charge is to resist dwelling on her attractiveness or fantasize a sexual relationship, otherwise we’d need to live in caves and avoid the populated world.

Thus the answer to your question in my opinion, (and that’s all it is, is “my opinion”), is to remove your temptations on your wall if you’re fantasizing thus. Be honest with yourself and Christ, he knows dishonesty even before we proclaim same.

I am not married, they to my knowledge are not married. They are beautiful women-didn’t Adam look at eve in the way i do. Christians seem to be obsessed with the ‘evil of the flesh’ or to put it another way nature.
It is natural for you to seek an excuse for sin, we all do it. It is the way of our flesh. When Jesus is your focus, when he is the only thing that matters to you then you will have a greater joy in following Him than you did in following your posters.

All the pleasures of this world are only temporary. What you enjoy today will be of no value to you tomorrow. Look at the graveyards filled with the dead. All the people buried there have a long history and all the indulgences they took are worthless and gone, now they have to face eternity which all of us will soon be doing as well.

Now is the time to decide, do we make Christ the only thing that matters in our life since everything else will pass away? Or do we live for this moment? As the saying goes "Eat, drink, and be merry".

Belonging to Jesus is a narrow path that few find. In His very own words Christ said in Matthew 7.13 Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.

Nothing is evil of itself save the evil one... we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, the temporal things seen .Neither do we derive our help from it. Walk by the eternal faith of Christ who works in us. . mixing it with the temporal, what the eyes see. The answer or golden measure of faith .Then our strengthened burden can be lighter.

You'll find that "struggling Christians" aren't very welcome here by some "holier than thou" preachers of moral standards. You'll need to remember that only Christ was without sin. I keep that thought whenever they denounce me. The blind instructing the blind.

Hi having read all the comments here I get the sense that you haven't got to that place where you can properly discern certain types of sin and a lot of people have told you the 100%truth.Now how you feel about the things you are told which is the truth is something I pray God renews in time. There ar e certain things that dont feel like sin even though they are and the bible talks about sexual immorality which you should look into if you genuinely want to follow jesus and ask him to open your eyes so that you can see.
A womans/mans sexuality-nakedness ect is something God intended to be seen and enjoyed by a spouse and no one else.Soft porn, hard porn, advertising, movies ect all promote sexualised imagrey every where and this is actually a sin.Having pic of naked women to look at as posters is still a sin and this kind of visual exposure to such images is against Gods call for Christians to be holy.I am surprised that person couldn't explain to why it was wrong.Yet one day I hope very son you will remember this forum and will realize that everyone told you the truth. We all Grow at different paces and are at different stages in our Christian growth.May God open your eyes to the truths about sexual purity.🙏🏻👍👍

Yes.

And I'm sure that when you look at them, you'realways imagining all of these women reading the Bible.

Hmm... We had another poster here not too long ago who was always preaching that images of scantily-clad women were to be seen as "artistic," and that he spent much of his time perusing them on the internet.

I'm just curious -- if you were dating a woman who had her walls covered with pictures of good-looking, semi-naked men, would it be a problem for you, or would you encourage her in doing so, as you seem to be looking for?

After all, she could argue the same thing -- that she was simply admiring the male form.
Hi Michael,

I'd still like to know your answer to my question -- would you be alright with your girlfriend, wife, sister, or mother having her walls covered with pictures of men with barely anything covered?

I understand what you're saying in that it can be tough to find a church to settle into and to find legitimate spiritual guidance -- I've spent a lot of time trying to find a church, and hopefully a mentor, as well.

As you go about your Christian walk, you'll learn other key principles of faith as well (forgive me if you already know this one) -- "Love your neighbor as yourself," -- Matthew 22:39.

God commands us to love and respect others as we would ourselves. I know you said you see these nearly-naked women as just posing for the camera, but another Christian principle throughout the Bible is to live life modestly and not cause one another to sin, nor are we to be putting ourselves on display.

Loving our neighbor as ourselves also entails respect -- each woman in these photographs is someone's sister, daughter, mother, aunt, etc. I'm not sure if you would want to see your male friends with nearly naked pictures of sisters, mother, or other female relatives on their wall and saying they don't have a problem with it? And yes, I know these women (assumedly) choose to pose for these pictures, but that doesn't mean they're making the right decision by doing so.

I once had a college class in public speaking, and one of the guys was exceptionally good-looking and well-known in the community, as he'd been a star athlete as well. One of his speeches talked a little bit about his modeling career. Now, I have no idea what he was modeling -- he was a respectable person and I doubt he was doing anything sleazy. But I know for myself, I would have felt extremely awkward having some commercially printed picture of him on my wall, even fully clothed.

I know this was a bit of an exception (most will never meet the models in the pictures,) and some will say it's different for guys because they are "visual" (I always like to say, "If men are visual, does that mean women are blind?") I've never put pictures of people on my walls (except family and friends,) and to me, this encounter just made me aware that there is a real person behind the photograph, and God wants us to respect them as a person. I also went to high school with a girl who did some local modeling, and hated it because she said all that's cared about is your appearance -- no one even regards that you're an actual person. She eventually became an attorney.

I know someone might choose to pose for these pictures on their own, and therefore choose to bare their bodies in front of the camera, but as stated earlier, just because they aren't making the right decision themselves doesn't mean we have to support it.

Best wishes in your journey and I hope God directs you to the right people to help you along the way. :)

That would be because it's so ubiquitous and difficult for most people and easy to stumble in.

There's a bit more freedom for the unmarried person than it is for the married, but remember, it's the utterances of the heart that defiles a man. The potential sin in looking isn't just eventual lusting that enters through the eyes, it really is us selfishly objectifying another person for our own enjoyment instead of always looking at their best interests in supreme love. Per example, someone can even bare themselves to be looked at and want attention, which doesn't mean they're in their best frame of mind and that one should look. Which is also why marriage intimacy isn't sin, as you have dedicated yourself to the well being of the person you're married to, to that level. When you have given your heart and soul to never leave someone no matter what, and would give life for that person, then it is indeed right to gaze upon that person and enjoy every aspect of their being, who also loves you and finds it acceptable, as much as you please.

Whether you're deceiving yourself here, only you know, and that's something for you to work out with the Holy Spirit. The fact that you even brought it up does attest of your doubts, because if you were not doubting, you wouldn't have brought it up.

Question for the OP:

Not trying to trick you here, just to stir up a deeper analysis.
You mentioned that the collection of ladies you have on the walls is not married. Implying, that it is because they are not married, that it is not wrong. Let's assume you are religiously tracking if they are married or not to remove them off the wall accordingly.
My question is: why would it be wrong if they were married? Like they bared themselves maybe that married woman likes attention and goes around with deep cleavage and whatnot. Maybe her husband also doesn't mind or is even flattered, so you're not stealing anything. So, why would it be wrong if she was married, and it's not like you will have kids out of wedlock with her if you look upon her? And if you want to say, well because adultery is sin, I will ask, why is adultery sin? What is that which gives the husband more right over you to look upon her? Why is God in the Bible considered Jerusalem's bridegroom and husband, while the others are her adulteries who ultimately don't care for her, use her up, and finally destroy her?

He is trying to justify his sin, or he's a troll trying to start an argument. Either way we don't want him in Singles Forum any more than you want him here. :p
I didn't say I didn't want him here. I was just suggesting there was a more appropriate place for a moral dilemma discussion
than the Bible Discussion Forum.
Perhaps you can provide a link to the "He Who is Without Sin" Stone-Casting section? ;)

Sorry but I’m not making an excuse for my sin-that’s the point i do not believe that looking at attractive beautiful creatures is a sin. Also you may not have read my reply to another person where I stated that I do not ‘follow’ my posters anymore than my parents obsessively look at the pictures of the titanic and the country scene they have on their walls. They do not distract me from my bible studying,my physical activities or my spiritual life. I am not in my opinion doing anything wrong by having beautiful images on my wall. I a only posted the question because a fellow Christian ✝️ said it was wrong-but gave no valid answer as to why.

Thank you for that. It’s not as bad -what a word i feel the need to use on a Christian ✝️ chat forum 😔-as some “Christian” sites i have been on. I once tried to suggest that some atheists I’ve met have morals and decency than Christians ....💣 🔥
