What you call ample evidence I call paucity and poverty.

Please tell us what this text means in its plain reading:

Rom 8:28-30
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew [[[predetermined relationship in eternity past]]], He also predestined [[[Gods eternal plan from eternity past]]] to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined [[[first in order of sequence]]], these He also called [[[second in order of sequence]]]; whom He called, these He also justified [[[third in order of sequence]]]; and whom He justified, these He also glorified [[[fourth in order of sequence]]].

Let me say this: by my reckoning, there is no place in the New Testament where being called PRECEDES being elect/predestinated. Only those elect, only those foreknown, only those predestinated, only those appointed go on to complete the sequence of called, justified, glorified.

And one other point......Who's doing the calling to begin with? We certainly are not meeting God halfway when He is doing the calling are we? No call no salvation IMO.

Here are some bonus scriptures for you to ponder.

Matt 13:11
He replied, "The knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.

John 6:44
"No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 6:37
Everyone the Father gives Me [[[first of all, then they]]] will come [[[many of them yet future, and ALL CHRISTIANS not yet saved]]] to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will never drive away.

Yes, the Father giving to the Son occurs long before people are saved, before most are even born. Certainly includes all Christians born in this day and age.

Stitching a bunch of verses together, out of context does not support this false dogma... it just shows that you are imposing a view on scripture.

Exactly.....a mid 1500's ex Catholic's view..........akin to Joseph Smith, Charles Russell, Ellen White and Jim Jones.....etc...etc...etc..

Let’s take a look at the first mention principle. Here election is tied to service. Jesus Christ was God’s chosen servant.

Isaiah 42:
1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.
2 He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.
3 A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.
4 He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.

Again in Romans 9 it is tied to service.

11 (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;)
12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.

The biblical purpose of election is service. God has elect angels for service.
I posted this earlier, maybe you missed it;

There are several types of the election of persons revealed in Scripture: national, messianic, ministerial and salvific: first, there is the Divine choice of Israel to be the chosen people of God in a national sense, although only a small remnant of that nation was truly the spiritual people of God (Cf. Deut. 4:37; 7:6–7; 10:14–15; Psa. 135:4; Isa. 41:8–9; 44:1; 45:4; Rom. 4:11–17; 9:6–9, 23–24; 11:1–6). Israel in its national election was typical of God’s elect spiritually chosen under the New or Gospel Covenant.

Second, there is the election of the Lord Jesus Christ as the “Elect” of God and true “Seed of Abraham.” In the choice of Abraham, God chose a nation, and in that nation, he chose an individual—the Messiah—and in that individual, he chose a true covenant people—believers (Isa. 42:1–7; Jer. 31:31–34; Luke 23:35; Gal. 3:15–16; Eph. 1:4–5; Heb. 8:8–13; 1 Pet. 2:4–9).
124
Third, there is also an election unto service, as revealed in the choice of Moses, the Levites, various kings, etc. (Deut. 21:5; 2 Sam. 6:21; 1 Chron. 28:5; Psa. 78:67–68; 105:26; 106:23). This principle is retained in the New Testament with the Divine call to the gospel ministry (Acts 9:10–16; 13:2–4).

Finally, there is an eternal, personal election unto holiness, which includes the totality of salvation and derives from the eternal Covenant of Redemption and Grace, or the believer’s eternal union with Christ (Rom. 8:29–31; 11:5–6; Acts 13:48; Eph. 1:4–5, 11; 1 Pet. 1:1–2; 2 Pet. 1:10)

The poster laid out 6 fine verses. You cannot respond so you attempt to dismiss it with a lame comment. Why do you do such a thing and reveal you are ignorant of divine truth?

From Eternity Past To The End Of Time

Read Romans 8:29-30.

This passage has been described by some scholars as "the golden chain." Every link in this chain is significant and related to the other. There's foreknowledge, then predestination, calling, justification, and glorification. And as with any chain, each link is vitally important.

Foreknowledge means that God knew you by name before time began. Predestination means that before He created the universe, God willed that you would be eternally saved. Then, at just the right time, He called you out of spiritual darkness into His glorious light. Sure, we each make a decision to follow Jesus. But we would never have come forward unless He was first calling to us.
Justification means that Jesus satisfied the justice of the Father—winning us salvation by His death. And glorification means that just as Jesus was glorified when He rose from the dead, all believers will be glorified on the last day when heaven invades earth.
This is God's purpose and plan; it is His desire for the believer to be eternally saved—not saved one day and lost the next. Jesus loves His own, and He loves them to the end (see John 13:1). So be assured today: God will never forsake you. This should put us on our face before Him in gratitude, adoration, and thanksgiving!
Prayer: God, I thank You for calling me out of darkness into Your glory. Your love and mercy are wondrous; You are worthy of my all. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
"For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified" (Romans 8:29-30).

Changing the rules to fit your theology. Election means this and election means that...find a new website to get your theology from, or maybe stick with the Bible. A King James Bible.😉

Thanks for sharing this simple explanation of God saving His sheep.
Up until here very recently, my understanding of chosen, election, coming to The Lord, etc., was not along those lines of thinking/belief. Do have to admit am seeing things in a different light, and trusting in Him to show me The Truth. As said several times, am still learning, and at 54, it's hard to teach an old dog.

I posted this openly. If you think it is error, go over it line by line and offer your correction if you think you can.
The numbers listed are bible verses...that is where the teaching comes from.
The fact is you are clueless but think you know something, you don't my friend.
In fact you can not offer any correction to this at all , go ahead and try...use your kjv..
The Pastor who wrote this reads from the greek text;););)(y)

Try to learn before posting.

Plucking verses from all over scripture does not prove anything.

Scripture reveals all over the place, we receive eternal life by believing in Jesus for it. You deny the simple Gospel... tragic.

Not one adherent of Calvinism has yet to make a case for "irresistible grace" which underpins your faulty view of election.

Many have not heard an accurate presentation of the truth. When they do, they are stunned at how they see it in all 66 books. God gives you what you need as you need it to present truth to the lost around us.
This little group of scoffers demonstrates the ignorance of those who turn from the truth.

For you my friend;

1]Perhaps you could show where you think I have denied we receive eternal life by believing?

2]Do you have a direct quote of me saying such a thing? I do not recall anything close to that.

3]In what way is my view faulty...?

4]It is one thing to make your claims, but I guarantee we will find out very quickly who does not know what they are talking about.

Again...you are another who cannot show where this link is not accurate.
Election is used in these 4 ways. Anything taught that does not include all 4 ways is defective big time, and is naive.

So true and .... like their founder John Calvin a deceiver, sadly the greatest deception of Calvinism is it pretends to be the same as orthodox/biblical Christianity and has been accepted as just another viewpoint.

I think you are dodging the point, that being an individual person HAVING BEEN ELECTED before obedience was ever displayed to begin with!
Have you found a verse yet the proves regeneration precedes belief?

Calvinism teaches man cannot believe.
Where does it teach that...give me a quote please?
Men are truth suppressors who do not seek God, however when the Father draws them to the Son, the Spirit enables them to repent and believe the gospel.
Your statement as posted is a falsehood.

If you want to remain ignorant you can. Jesus taught all 5 points in the gospel of John alone.
