Have you ever heard a song for years thinking you knew what the lyrics were, only to find out that you had it wrong?

Perhaps you know the correct lyrics but always find yourself putting the wrong word in at the wrong time?

Or you haven't discovered the correct lyrics but really want to know.....

Manfred Mann's Earth- Blinded by the Light

I always thought it said
"Blinded by the light......
Wrapped up like a douch...
da da da da da da da (didn't know what went here)"

I have learned it actually says:

Blinded by the light
REVVED UP like a DEUCE (as in a type of car)
Another runner in the night

I think as we search for lyrics they will be understood. Even if we don't know the words, we can research them.

Big Yellow Taxi by Counting Crows.....
I though he was saying pink paradise and make it a parking lot.


I had to hear it by Joni Mitchell to understand it is pave paradise and put up a parking lot.

"You shook me all night long" by AC/DC

To me, it still sounds like:
"She had me circumcised telling me no lies
Knocking me out with those American thighs".

Actual lyrics are:
"She had the sightless eyes telling me no lies
Knocking me out with those American thighs".

Hall & Oats song "Kiss on my list"

so when I was a kid, I thought the tittle & lyrics said :

"Your kiss, your kiss is on my lips"
 
I think it was The Dubliners.

"Dance, dance, wherever you may be, I am the Lord of the Dance Settee", when it's actually "Dance, then, wherever you may be, "I am the Lord of the dance", said he".

Idk the name of the song but i think its by the crowder band.

I thougt they said "like a chainsaw"
Then listened close and heard him saying "let the chains fall"
