And in case anyone was wondering what a cryptid is....

An animal (such as Sasquatch or the Loch Ness Monster) that has been claimed to exist but never proven to exist. Contrary to popular belief, cryptids don't have to be supernatural, mythical or even all that strange—though many popular creatures acquire these characteristics as their legends grow.

I copied and pasted that in case you couldn't tell. :p

My favorite cryptid is....

The Mothman.

I became fascinated with the legend of the Mothman after seeing the 2002 film The Mothman Prophecies. Legend has it that if people begin to see the Mothman in a certain area, it means that very area is about to be hit with some kind of catastrophe or disaster. So the sight of the Mothman is seen as an omen of something bad that's about to happen.

And your favorite cryptid is....?

And please note: THIS ISN'T A DEBATING THREAD. SO PLEASE DON'T ARGUE ABOUT WHETHER OR NOT CRYPTIDS ARE REAL OR WHETHER WE AS CHRISTIANS SHOULD BELIEVE IN THEM. None of that please.

Whether you believe a certain cryptid actually exists or not, you can still be fond of the legend itself. If that makes sense. I don't know if the Mothman or any other cryptids are real. But it's fun to think they are.

Doesn't it figure that particular Cryptid has washboard abs?

I like the Mothman story. The Richard Gere movie about it was unique I guess.

Mine would be the Pegasus.

what does "proven" really mean? Does something need to be killed to "prove" it? I see a comet overhead, do I need to capture it to know it exists? We don't "see" God, most of us here know of His reality, and how the Trinity works in us and through us, how He encounters us in dreams, visions, promptings in the Spirit.

No one said anything about killing = proven. Nor capturing. So not sure where that rant came from. It's a clear meaning what proven means.
