Romans 14:1 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.

Maybe I'm taking this Scripture in a wrong way, but this tells me that it's okay to state the truth, but if reproving isn't profitable, disengage from argument, yet not reject brother/sister... because to our master Christ we all stand or fall.

I am aware this might have caused me to eventually lose respect of some and some friends on CC, but I must do as I am convicted in my spirit to do. That of course goes for all of us. And I think that's the point of that whole chapter.
One that is weak in the faith does not indicate one that believes, promotes or makes a stand on a false gospel and or a cultish type belief......

I think I'll bow out of this thread, and possibly ChristianChat altogether. It's clear that most here hold that Calvinism isn't a viable Christian option, but is, as it was said in a previous post by a respected member here, akin to Mormonism and the likes. It's clear that the exchange isn't on level ground, and efforts spent here could be spent more profitably somewhere else.

I'm not sure if this thread, which is the first one I visited and responded to, because I enjoyed the original post so much, is representative of the CC community as a whole. Perhaps someone can direct me to a Calvinist thread, if it's not? I'll stick around long enough for a reply.

I wish you all the best - and I hope that the energy put into sharing the gospel with the lost is equal to the energy spent in the arguments on display here. There's a lost and dying world that needs the message of the cross, the gospel. And yes, I say that as a 5 point calvinist. (Just as there are different types of baptists, I'd encourage you to consider that there are different types of Calvinists, before writing us all off as herectics.)

The world needs an online Christian community where they can receive the gospel, where believers can come for encouragement, edification, instruction, and friendships. I'm just not sure - based on this thread - that CC is that place. I hope it is... I hope I'm wrong.
I think its silly to judge the entire forum from this thread alone.

This thread, being so long, has created a community of like minded individuals who are very supportive of one another. So naturally, anyone who is promoting a different view will feel that he or she is being ganged up against.

What I am reading on this thread lately is......

- We all have our truths, your truth is no better than mine.

- If you disagree with my beliefs then you are not open to discussion

- Do not challenge my beliefs, lets just agree to disagree

- The bible can be interpreted according to what makes me feel good

- I expect my beliefs to be validated and approved since we are all brothers in Christ

I have yet to read anywhere in scripture these sentiments... but maybe I am wrong?

And to be quiet honest ideas like this worry me.
Romans 14:5 gives us the model by Paul

One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.

Note the term "persuaded in his own mind". This is where the agree to disagree advice came about.

Sometimes we just do not think. Especially I think we we have a bunch rally behind us. We fail to stop
And think what we are doing and then act like we did nothing wrong and blame the other person or persons
Good point, when we see all the thumbs up and other notifications on whatever we post, the brain released dopamine and, like classical conditioning, the dopamine release encourages us to continue that behavior.

Christ will return after that man of sin is revealed (Matthew 24:29-31; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-8; Revelation 19:11-21).
7th Trump, post Great Trib, Pre-Wrath, after man of Sin, the Son of Perdition has been revealed, after all 7 seals and all 7 trumps and at the sounding of the 7th trump....

A wonderful PICTURE is seen in the siege and fall of Jericho...the order, including the verbiage of 1st Corinthians 15 and 1st Thessalonians matches exactly....the sound of a great trump, ascension, victory!!

WOW! Finally someone that I can agree with on the timing of the gathering of the Saints!

It is never wrong to oppose ideals, dogmas, and untruths that devalue and or opposes the truth of the bible.....yes, sometimes we need to handle people with gloves on, but we are not to coddle and or fail to use heat, zeal or even biblical anger in our opposition of error when called for.....I cite Moses, Jesus, Paul as well as others.....
While true

we do not need to lynch mob them.

I have seen people misrepresent others, attack and belittle people just because they are associated with someone else. It’s horrific (I have seen it from both sides Bro)

this thread used to be one of the best threads in CC. lately all I see is a free for all.. it’s sad

what is sadder is it took me to see how I fell right into it and misunderstood what someone else was saying just because I was caught up in the moment, that’s what made me stand back and look, and I did not like what I saw from myself and others.

It happens on occasion without a doubt....but we keep swinging for the truth's sake regardless.....GOD USES IMPERFECT men to preach His PERFECT TRUTH....and regarldess of failues on any side, the power lies in the message migo!

Yeah we are imperfect, that’s why sometimes we need someone brave enough to get in our faces to tell us in love we need to step back a minute and refocus on the message and not the person.
that’s usually what they do, attack the person, because it’s all they have, when we act like them, it makes us look just as bad.

Let us not be lead into theological doctrines, systems and the schema developed men like John Calvin but follow the truth of scripture....

Matt 10:32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. 33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

If all men are held accountable before God then sheer logic dictates there is something men must do >>>>>believe!!

Not by Works

2 Tim. 1:9

"Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, NOT ACCORDING TO OUR WORKS, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began."

God had a "payment plan" ready before the world began and did not include any works from us the opposite.
