In my early 20's i think it was 22/23.. A friend at work gave me a Bible and i read it.. by the time i got into the Gospel of Matthew i was no longer a catholic.. and by the time i was reading Romans i finally understood the Way of salvation by the Atonement of the LORD Jesus Christ.. That's when i truly became a Christian.. Romans 7 was the chapter that made me understand.. :) I have been a Christian for just over 30 years now and i have never had doubts about the Way the Truth and the Life, the Word that became flesh and dwelt among men.. :giggle:
That is amazing. There is so much more to religion than just titles. But being Catholic made me feel like I was drowning. I wasn’t learning. I knew God was there but didn’t understand him or his love. So different today. I crave his wisdom. I crave learning about him everyday. My grandma did her best to raise me in that church. And I’m still thankful for all that she instilled in my but I feel now I have a deeper connection with Jesus and it’s an incredible feeling.

The difference for me was like Night and Day.. I was born into a very religious catholic family. i never missed a Sunday mass for the first 17 years of my life and for 10 of those years i was an altar boy.. 5-15.. My uncle is still a catholic priest and my dad still goes to mass each Sunday.. sadly i fear he will die a catholic :(

Anyway i was 100% in works bondage salvation when i was a catholic.. It was all about making the grade at being good enough and making sure you attended church on all the ""holy''? days of obligation.. God was up there in the clouds with his book making his ticks and crosses on my record and i better end up with more ticks then crosses or else i would be in hell.. I am so glad i came to learn about the grace of my LORD Jesus :giggle:He lifted the heavy yoke off my back on that day.. He lifted me up..

Hi I am a 44 year old mother of 3. I also have a grandson. I grew up Catholic but changed to Christianity a few years ago. Looking to find friends. I am introverted and it can be hard to make friends at my age. Especially Christian ones. Would love to chat with people who follow Jesus.
Hi. I’m new here. Nice to meet you!

Hi and thanks for the welcome. My grandson is almost 3. I watch him on Fridays as my son and his girlfriend work 2nd shift. He keeps me going but can tire me out. He loves playing sports and I’m not the best teacher at them lol. Grandchildren are such a blessing. So your wife will have the time of her life when they arrive. I enjoy baking, hiking, taking long walks, reading the scripture, listening to music. Going to the beach which I’m hoping to get to do next month if everything is back open. Trying to stay careful through all of the illnesses in the world but also want to start living and enjoying the beautiful world again. What do you guys like to do?
Wow, what a great attitude, the world needs more of you .. Pleased to meet you Sis and God Bless ..

At 44 I was invited to join an aerobics class, actually talked into it .. I was quite athletic and went to show those women ''how it's done'' LOL .. They run me in the ground , I don't think I ever got through a whole workout ''of course'' I had started in the advanced class, LOL again .. 3 times a week and after 8 weeks I can say I don't think I've ever been in better shape, I quit .. Years of weights, football, baseball and track workouts, aerobics was the real deal, you can't hide or loaf in front of all those girls and a couple men .. My wife had did it when she was in her 20's and I never took it serious except that she looked awesome good in those body tights .. And I was almost intimidated she felt so good and sang, danced around the house ... YUMMY, YUM, YUM ..

Thank you! Yes online is perfect for the introverts but I do crave real discussions. So it can be hard. I’m hoping to at least build a few Christian friends on here.
Put me on that list! A friend of Jesus is a friend of mine:).

There seems to be a roughly equal mix on extrovert and introvert members. I am an introvert as well. Also, I grew up Catholic too but later stopped attending mass due to what I believed to be certain doctrine and practices that were contrary to scripture. I read a couple other posts of yours and want you to know that there are quite a few members here, including myself, who have been through the trauma of divorce so please know that you're not alone in this. Chatting with people who follow Jesus is what happens here. Glad to have you as part of our family. Welcome to CC.
