Then you have to conclude that Jesus can still sin, while he is in heaven.

He is still 100% Man and 100% God now right?

What are you talking about?

Jesus defeated, broke the cycle of sin and death at the cross and was resurrected to NEW life.

I am saying Jesus could not have sinned when he was 100% God and 100% Man.

He had no sinful nature in him, that would make temptation work.

That does not mean he was not tempted.

How was he tempted them?

By listening to Satan?

This was already dealt with in post 141 542 and here 141 546 by @dcontroversal

And temptation is not "real" unless someone can give into that temptation... so yes Jesus had the potential to sin.

You don't have to give into temptation for it to be real. Jesus was tempted, as it says in Hebrews 4:14-15, "Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who was tempted in every way that we are, yet was without sin.

This thread has been here a Very Very long time. I love this thread. I have learned much from it and from Dcon for beginning it I am grateful. Works has no place in the "salvation" of mankind. God provided a plan for salvation and I am so thankful He did.

I never said He had to give in.... I stated the "potential" had to be real .... otherwise as above how would He be able to sympathize?

That’s exactly what I was thinking...how would he be able to relate to our suffering.
He felt what we feel?..regarding temptation?

Amen....her divisiveness and constant accusatory self righteous posts are about to make me vomit!

Dottie has the gumption to speak about our "names" here yet, she calls us OSAS not believing, not knowing, not understanding how God works? How confused she truly is. Kind of like those who can dish it out but cannot take it and cry "victim"

if you are uncapped if falling into sin you can not be tempted if that sin

That does not mean he was not tempted.
Then why did Adam sin? He was not created with a sin nature.

Adam is a created being, Jesus is God, so you cannot compare them like that, they are not equivalent.

Yes, I know Romans 5:12-19 called Jesus the final Adam, but the context there was about federal headship.
Adam and Eve were pushovers for Satan as far as we can tell. On the other hand Jesus endured 40 days of temptation in the wilderness while fasting, being physically weakened to the extreme. Not only that Jesus was burdened by all of the pressure of the fact of Him being the Messiah, and the immensity of the task set before Him by the Father, and that He must not fail for the sake of the entire creation, as well as the sake of His glorious Name and his Father's glorious Name.

In my view there is an vast gulf of difference between Adam and Jesus as far as sin and temptation to sin goes.

I notice she does not respond to posts that really lay her false teaching for what it is.

Dish out the false teaching and run from, deny the Truth.

God knew Jesus was up for the task,,,,,otherwise he wouldn’t have sent him down....God knew beforehand.

Why do you think I disagree with the above at least the bit that is clear??? There is no salvation outside of Jesus Christ.

Do you think the body is now completed? Is that a statement of faith? I mean you certainly don’t think his works in me are completed in his body (although Im not quite sure what that exactly means as I said. Is the church completed? What else do you mean?
DM - ALL the works for salvation are COMPLETE IN CHRIST ALONE for EVERY true born again believer that has received the Blood and Body of Jesus Christ as The Lamb of God that takes our sin away and has imputed His Incorruptible SEED of the Word of God - His Body - The Lord our Righteousness in us. THERE ARE NO MORE WORKS NECESSARY FOR SALVATION for those that are saved and born again IN Christ Jesus.

Our spirits are now made alive and we have a NEW Nature that is spiritual, NOT sinful which simply means we no longer desire to sin, if and when we do fall into temptation and sin, sinning makes us miserable. So, we cry for help because we realize we're still dealing with sin and it confuses us.

It's now time for the Holy Spirit to do His works in us. Jesus Christ had to go so the Holy Spirit would come. Jesus FINISHED His works which pertained to Salvation. Now, the Holy Spirit has a work to do - we are SEALED, BAPTIZED and CONTINUALLY FILLED with the Holy Spirit.

It is in the POWER of the Holy Spirit that we are able to walk by the Spirit so we do not fulfill the lusts of the flesh - it is a growing up process - NOT IMMEDIATE.

Our minds have to be renewed with God's Word and God's Holy Spirit so we can know the perfect Will of God and love it and do it.

It's quite common for saved believers to doubt their salvation because they're still dealing with this sin issue but, Salvation is complete. We just need to cooperate now with the Holy Spirit in the renewing of our minds.

The "work of the Holy Spirit" is to comfort us, lead us, guide us, counsel us, teach us, instruct us, correct us, and empower us to be effective witnesses of Jesus Christ in the Earth.

The more our minds get renewed, the more of the Fruit of the Holy Spirit starts manifesting in our lives and the Gifts of the Holy Spirit manifest, too.

We just need to embrace the Gift of the Holy Spirit by Faith - the same way we embraced the Gift of Salvation in Christ Jesus, and stop resisting, quenching, grieving, and neglecting the Holy Spirit and His work that needs to be done in us.

There's NO NEED to argue over Salvation anymore, time to move on.

God chose a woman's body to reveal/reconcile us to Himself -
she was conceived like all of us, with the sin-nature -
this was-is the window that was chosen for us to be able to
identify-love, abide, and serve our Creator during the lifetime
of our calling here on earth and beyond -
and so, we have The ROCK of ages to cling to and give our very best to,
each and every moment for the rest of our lives...
JOSH 24:15.
And if it seem evil unto you to serve The LORD, choose you this day whom you will serve;
whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites,
in whose land you dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve The LORD.
JOHN 12:26.
If any man serve Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there shall also My servant be:
if any man serve Me, him will my Father honour.
ROMANS 11:22.
Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness,
if you continue in His goodness: otherwise you also shalt be cut off.
MATT. 16:27.
For The Son of man shall come in the glory of His Father with His angels; and then he shall reward
every man according to his works.
REV. 3:11.
Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which you hast, that no man take your crown.
