Santa Claus story was inspired by Saint Nicholas. St Nicholas was a historical person who has helped the poor all his life and spent all his wealth doing that because he believed in Jesus. Recognizable character of the Author of the universe that is nurturing and compassionate, lived in Nicholas. Like I said, if you scratch the surface, you find Jesus

Jesus also claimed to be God.
He didn't say 'I am God' but the way He could forgive sin and do miracles by His own power.. are two points that show His diety.
Santa doesn't claim to be God 😀
Also the coca cola Santa does not now nor ever existed.
St Nicholas did. But I don't know much about his history.
Comparing Jesus with Santa is a polls apart comparison.

Jesus was either a lunatic, liar, the devil or God in human flesh
God in human flesh is the only option that makes sense given what we know.

If you understand the word "Believe " in Christ and "Believe in Santa Clause
Believe in Jesus is not a intellectual acceptance of His existence or mental agreement. " I believe in Santa Clause".
When one says they " Believe in Jesus Christ that is putting into action faith. Which is a gift from the Holy Spirit which gives to the surrender heart revaluation that Jesus did die, buried , and Resurrected.

One is real and is imaginary.
I could believe Santa could take me up in his sleigh but its unreliable.. untestable..
With Jesus on the other hand.. you can test belief in Him ... He is reliable.. testable etc...

Because he Is Almighty God...the King.....he resides in the heart of a believer...
Only he is Worthy of Praise and Worship.
He laid his life down so that we can be saved and cleansed from our sin....a born again is right with God.
Santa Claus .....is a made up character....for children......
To have faith and believe in God was given to us by his grace....we really don’t deserve it....but he gave it to us freely.
Santa Claus gives nothing a made up character...he only gets people to spend money..very clever marketing.

Children may believe "mental assent" in a make believe person called Santa Claus and that he travels the world in a sleigh pulled by reindeer delivering presents, but that's a far cry from believing in Santa Claus to save you from your sins and provide for you eternal life. To believe in Jesus (unto salvation) goes beyond mere "mental assent" belief in the existence of and in historical facts about Jesus.
It's not enough to believe in our head that the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus "happened." We must also believe in our heart by trusting in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus (Christ's finished work of redemption) as the ALL-sufficient means of our salvation. (Romans 1:16; 3:24-28; 10:9,10)

Believing in Jesus (and following Him as Lord), causes one to be transformed, mind and spirit. It is a lifelong walk earmarked with answered prayer and increased wisdom. The belief increases. The belief in Santa Clause is easily extinguished around 10 years old when the age of reason overwrites the illogical nonsense of our youth...or sooner when you stumble across stashed toys in the closet, and price tags on gifts. People have been unsuccessfully trying to dismiss the Bible for millennia as folklore. It’s hasn’t happened yet. When trying to dismiss the belief in Santa, your parents say, “Ok, you’re right, but don’t tell your sister.”

It's a matter of conviction. You can believe in a lot of things and people. How many of them do you believe in with conviction? How many of your beliefs would you hold to if it brought the forfeit of your life?
A belief in Jesus as Christ merits conviction that even in death there is peace. In great suffering there is hope that cannot be shaken through Christ.
