Something intriguing I was thinking about - that God helped me come to if singing a worship song - is talking about how we’re supposed to be unashamed of the gospel of Christ. But it seems sometimes we let our shame in our own issues and battles keep us from reaching out to Him fully. We kinda pull back and hide a bit. I know I have.

I think that is one of the reasons why fellowship is so important in a loving environment... in such an environment, where we can trust and feel accepted for who we are despite all our shortcomings as human beings, whether past or present, it is possible to open up to and admit our deeper feelings of failure and shame when in the company of others who are likewise honest about how they fall short.
