In my personal experience I will say sexual expression will take effect regardless of internet restrictions. The reason it’s so addictive is because it’s so powerful. We didn’t have internet when I was growing up. It didn’t stop us from finding pornography and girls willing to share themselves for attention. The control has to be based on your son’s desire for purity. Some of my friends told me their sons your son’s age were propositioned by girls for mutual sexual favours. Whether it’s a 13 year old boy or a 30 year old married Christian man. If you don’t make the conscious personal decision to keep your eyes and thoughts pure it’s hopeless. There is no end to way one can find to defile oneself. Think addictions. Usually a control substance is to feel better, or numb pain. What is your son like? Does he appear to be in pain or anxious? Does he like sports? Is he under a lot of pressure? I’m sure because of the Covid isolation there is loneliness. He’s becoming a man now. He doesn’t want to feel like a kid. When children start becoming adults and formulate their own morality and can no longer be bribed or threatened for discipline you will notice a difference in their personality, and not a favourable one. When you push, they will push back, and it won’t be fun. Power struggle is the result. Many parents see their kids make stupid decisions and try to stop them instead of letting them learn. Failure is a fantastic learning tool. I’m not saying throw them to the wolves but arm them with values and wisdom then let them step into the wilderness. Walk a little further behind them and call to them when you see danger. Let them face danger and overcome it. This is what builds independence and fortitude. Let them fall and pick themselves up. With my oldest son (now 16) I tried to make him a better version of me. We would fight and argue, I even thought he might be narcissistic and wondered if he was going to end up in jail. I can’t even describe the transformation that occurred when I backed off. I was making him feel so insecure and afraid. God told me to back off. He said since teens are more influenced by friends than their parents so be a better friend and less a parent. We got a ping pong table and played games together. I got him a job working with me and bought him some tools. We watched movies together and built stuff. Now this child who was failing at school and life, that I thought was going to end up going to jail wants to follow me into the trades. His marks are fantastic and he is very responsible. We have opportunities to talk and he continually asks for advice. Once I allowed him to take ownership of himself he became so much more than I ever expected. Now, I’m not saying you shouldn’t make viewing pornography more difficult but ultimately the decision he makes is going to be the one that he obeys.
Children aren’t stupid. I knew at seven, that I was offending The Lord, by looking at pornography. 😔

Just like what others say...it is impossible to block porn totally... When I was growing up we didn't have TV or internet or magazines at home...but I was able to watch it for the first time at my best friend's house....she invited me and I watched porn with her...I was an unbeliever and she was a Christian...her grandfather was a pastor and her father was an elder...following her grandfather to become a pastor...I wish I'd never chosen to watch porn....I wish I never did...

No matter how we guard them some day their friends are going to want them to do things to watch things they should not ... scary...but the truth is...it is possible...because once they are out we can't keep them from doing or looking at anything they want...

He might choose to do it again you can't guard him all the time but you can instill something valuable in his heart...

Let always the love of Christ flow through you as you talk to him,be honest with him show him what's wrong and why he should not do it...tell him what's good and why he should do it, calmly and lovingly...pray with him and pray for him that Jesus will guide his steps and erase in his memory what he has seen on his screen.

Welcome to CC!God bless you and your family stay safe and healthy ❤

Wow it is called natural reaction of the body . Share that with your kid nothing to be ashamed of . Prayers for you and your words
Bodily sexual responses to stimulus of all kinds at puberty is natural.

Feeding your fleshly desires through searching out porn is not natural, and should NEVER be encouraged.

Good Day!

Unfortunately, my wife and I had to make a very bad discovery. We have found out that our oldest child (13 years old) was watching filthy pornographic videos on the internet. Naturally, we talked to him about this issue and explained the dangers of pornography. He promised to not watch it again, but now realising how sudden such a problem can occur (we are a deeply religious family), I am asking you fellow brothers and sisters for help. We would like to ban all possibilities of pornography from our house, without completely preventing our children from using their smartphones. If someone has a solution, please please help us!

May the Lord protect us.
You are the parent they are not. If you feel this has affected your son, seek Christian counseling. if you are looking to be more discreet because not waiting for the local church to deal with it. Give Pure Life ministries a call. they can all be done in your home.

Buy the phones and internet for your children. Enable parental controls on their accounts. Pick up their phones periodically and see who they are talking to, what they are saying, and what they are watching on the internet. If you find anything in appropriate on their history, turn their phone and/or internet off immediately. When they come to you and ask you what's wrong with their phone, take a little time to discuss what is appropriate and inappropriate, and why.

Don't be surprised to find it on your 10 year old's phone.

‘Whoever looks on a woman, to lust after her, has already committed adultery in his [their] heart’...
...(we should probably talk about murder of the heart too)

That’s a less accurate translation. That is a verse used to convict any dude with any natural sexual desire. The word used for “woman”, is more often translated as “wife”. The men Christ was talking to were all allowed to marry serveral women and have concubines. However, they weren’t allowed to covet another man’s wife. This is the adultery Christ meant.

What if Christ had said, “Whoever smells bread and becomes hungry is already guilty of gluttony?” Would that also not cause unnecessary guilt. A male having a strong physical attraction to a female shouldn’t be considered adultery. I’m not pro polygamy by any means but the Lord has no laws against it. In fact there are laws allowing you to bed your slaves. There are laws that if you forcibly “deflower” a girl it is up to her father if he gives her to that man as a wife. I think the spiritually born man shouldn’t enslave himself with sexual desire, but there is still desire. I read before, “While driving your car, to see a beautiful woman jogging, can just be appreciation for beauty. To drive around the block to see her again is lust.”

My drawn out point isn’t to validate pornography or polygamy. I’m just stating that the Lord created men to desire women and be attracted to motherly like qualities; round hips and full breasts are instinctive attributes for procreation. It is instinctive for women to be physically drawn to powerful men, also for strength of species. It’s just how we are designed. For a single man to lust after a single woman is just normal. Pursuing a woman and capturing her affection is the best part of courtship. It’s not sinful. Undressing a married woman with your eyes is. There’s a difference and Jesus called the latter adultery.

I provided scriptural support for my view. If two paragraphs is too long then good luck ever reading through the Bible.

Sexual feelings aren't "natural"? Really? That is bizarre.

I know of a saying you might buy into... Sex is a necessary but slightly disgusting act for the procreation of children for the greater glory of God.

With all of the fine suggestions and remedy given to issue on hand, I have never failed to believe that prayer plays a vital role in helping us handle an issue like pornography. If God doesn't help us, even our best effort does nothing. We all must also think about establishing a sort of opened and sharing relationships with our children that foster growth in Christ.

Hay reform yourself and hungry do you even understand what you have done . I am not trying to be mean or rude . But I do need to point out that the two of you took over for your own selfish want to not be proven wrong . And to have the last good verse from the Bible to mix in with your : interpretation: of what says it means to Just to prove the other person wrong... Well in doing so you took a cry for Help from true believers in our Savior Jesus Christ trying to raise there children according to what is pleasing to God. I'm going to repeat that . This forum was started as a cry for help. Not just any help only a certain kind of knowledge is required for it to be helpful. You are not offering any any useful bits of knowledge to help with the problem . When people see the name of this forum they might want to offer or ask for help them self's. But all they see is your statements trying to prove each other wrong. And leave . Think of it this way we are all one body in God our Father. Some ringers some toes . When the body needs to communicate with it self it's called Fellowship . This Forum was needed for fellowship.
You stop the fellowship of God
My prayers for you

You're clearly new here. What you're seeing is pretty tame compared to what goes on on this site. And hijacking threads is pretty much the norm. And complaining about it had zero effect. I've been on here 9 years. So I can say that with lots of experience.

Yes I am new and I have come to understand that is a normal . That is why I spoke up because it is not ok. Sometimes people just don't care or actually don't know when they are doing wrong. That is why I was trying to inform them not only what it was they were doing wrong but why it was wrong even if they chose not to listen and take heed of the lesson in the correct. Does not mean someone else did not.

I would like to say I think it’s funny that on a thread regarding pornography you think that adding insight to a verse that shames people for healthy natural desire is somehow hyjackimg. Do you realize that your rebuke for hyjackimg is less on topic than lust? Perhaps you could pray for us all.
