I’m fairly new. I want to be saved/born again. I know I have to repent for my sins, but I’m confused.

There’s different opinions about repentance. I listened to this video last night about repentance

His speech on repentance says you must confess everything, and confess to the people you have sinned against. What if you can’t find that person? Also.. what if your confession would cause pain to the other person?

He also says that financial debt is sin . He said it’s basically stealing. That makes sense, but what if a person filed bankruptcy like I did years ago? Am I supposed to track down the people i owed at the time and repay the thousands of dollars of medical bills to be forgiven ?

I really wish somebody would watch his video , and weigh in on his speech. I hate asking anyone to watch a 50 minute video, but I’m extremely confused on repentance. I mean, I’ve got sins that I can’t even remember
Thank you for reading

Rather than spend your time on videos from youtube or wherever, try picking up your Bible and spending time reading the word of God...........

That is the best way to clear up that "UNSURE" listed on your Profile Page........

Matthew, Chapter 4:

17From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

ALL NEED TO REPENT:

EVEN THE CHURCH IS IN NEED OF REPENTANCE.....

.....Some have strayed from the Gospel of Christ, some have failed to do what God purposed them to do, some have not kept the Commandments of Faith established by Christ during His Ministry here on earth, and some go about to and fro seeking to cause distrust and disruptions within the Church Body.

Acts 3:19 - Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

2 Chronicles 7:14 - If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

1 John 1:9 - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

2 Peter 3:9 - The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Luke 13:3 - I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Acts 17:30 - And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

Acts 2:38 - Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Ezekiel 18:21-23 - But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. (Read More...)

Revelation 2:5 - Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

Proverbs 28:13 - He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh [them] shall have mercy.

Matthew 4:17 - From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Romans 2:4 - Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

I’ve have tried to read the Bible, but have always struggled to comprehend. I’m uncertain that I may be interpreting scripture wrong. I’ve watched many videos of people much smarter than me to help me understand. I joined this group to gain knowledge from people that are much smarter than I am .

Thank you for responding and pointing out scripture

Acknowledging your wrongs and being willing to make amends goes a long way in the absence of opportunity to actually do so.

When you filed for bankruptcy, your debts were paid off on a cents to the dollar basis which those to whom you were indebted accepted as payment. You owe nothing in such cases but to make sure it does not happen again :)
