Have you read the history of the Catholic Church? I can see why they thought the Papacy fit the bible profile of the Antichrist.
If the papacy did fit the Antichrist it would have come to an end within 3 1/2 years or 42 months. So that is reason enough to believe that you are COMPLETELY in the dark.

Is there anything in the Bible that mentions the Antichrist retiring because Pope Benedict did in 2013

You've stolen a couple of quotes out of the Bible. Theorists have been dissecting every word of the Bible for 2 thousand year's. And I should listen to you because of what exactly?
All your posts are GARBAGE.

You offer no scripture
You conduct no analysis
You add no history
You offer no information, no knowledge.
You have chosen to follow so-called Therorists. You have chosen to follow man.
I am not asking you to listen to ME. I have invited people to analyze scripture against historic facts and the documents of the Catholic Church. But you are unable to do this.

Trump is'nt Catholic. And the Pope has absolutely nothing to any other religion other than Catholics. I don't understand how or what we do is any of your or anyone else affairs. Don't worry. Move on with your life.
Doesn't the office of Pope ''Pontifex Maximus'' include being both High Priest and Caesar ? The Pope is trying to unite all religions ''gods'' of the world as we speak into a new humanism and to focus on the created thing ''nature worship'' ahead of and instead of God and man first .. That is pagan as it comes ..

The 42 months = 42 x 30 years = 1260 years. Which applies to the reign of the 1st Beast of Revelation. Roman Empire began with Julius Caesar around 49BC. The Roman empire came to an end with the sack of Constantinople in 1204.
1204 + 49 = ~ 1253 years. 1st beast of revelation is the Roman Empire, which lasted for ~1260 years.

The 2nd Beast of Revelation has no time duration assigned to it. Look at Rev 13:11-18.
The Whore of Babylon has no time duration assigned to it either. Look at Rev 17.

The False Prophet or the Man of Lawlessness (which is the Roman Pontiff) applies to Rev 13:11-18 and Rev 17, which does not have 42 months or 3.5 years.

So your reason is COMPLETELY in error. You discredit a broad scriptural basis for Roman Pontiff being the Man of Lawlessness based on your misinterpretation of one single verse.

Please don't call Jesus just a man. He is God... And those day's are gone. We Only study the Bible. We serve the people. I belong to the knight's of Columbus. Are you familiar with this? Our entire function is to feed and clothe the poor. What are you apart of? Other than knocking down other religions...

So you are a Catholic, and your Father is he who sits on the Throne in the Vatican. You justify yourself on works, which is antithetical to the Gospel.

You ask what I do? I testify to the truth of God's Word. The Holy Bible is without error. Every word is true. I am a wretched sinner deserving of God's just wrath. I am saved from God's wrath by the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. To Him be the Glory! For he saved me from the clutches of Satan.

I have never said one prayer for our Pope. This is what He does for me. Yeah, you're " That Guy" right? the one that has what he need's and when you run into one one of God's creator's that is starving and cloth-less and instead of feeding or clothing them you offer them prayer. Right? Lol...

The Hebrew and Greek words do not allow anyone to arbitrarily change days into years. So that is incorrect and also misleading. Because Satan and the Antichrist cannot be allowed an extended period of time to control the world's population (which the papacy has never done, nor ever will) we can be positive that 42 months or 3 1/2 years is the actual meaning. We could also go into more detail from the various passages to establish that.

You are using the Dispensationalist theory to make things fit the Catholic scheme. The Jesuits created "futurism" (what Dispensationalists believe) in an effort to prove the Papacy is not the Antichrist.

I agree the Papacy is the Man of Lawlessness. I would love to put our two heads together.

However, I must critique your lead off post. You put too much weight on what certain figures in the middle age believed.
Who are these people? And why should anyone be swayed by their opinions?
Saying , "Luther believed this", or "SDA founder proposed that", will not sway anyone.

We who believe and know the Papacy is the Man of Lawlessness must convey in the following manner:
- Through a consistent and rigorous scriptural analysis against the historical facts and documents of the pope and roman catholic church.

In my next post I will make a single detailed case in point by comparing Daniel 11:36-37 to known facts about pope..
It's history needed for the sake of having a complete history.

Antichrist Today?

Paul says; He would be the “[Man of sin] Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in [Greek = as] the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.” (2 Thessalonians 2:4) (KJV 1900)
This would mean then that the temple of God is St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican Rome. What do you think?

To me this makes sense. Jesus was first for the Jews, and then for the Gentiles. Since the Jews by and large rejected their messiah, the offer of redemption through the Messiah was then offered to the gentiles (whole world). Therefore, since the new covenant isn't just for jews but for the whole world, it would make sense for God to move his City from Jerusalem (the center of Jewish Israel) to Rome, the center of the gentile world.

One final point. "Inscribed on the entrance of St. Peter's Basilica in Rome is Templum Vaticani (Temple of the Vatican)." https://pdfs.semanticscholar.org/0763/b9c0498b3f6b35c6f369e7989f791fc7af64.pdf

It sounds that you are not fond of the Pope.

Question: What do you think of the Pope in general?
A) do you see the Pope as holding an office of supervision and guidance.
or
B) do you see the Pope as the supreme judge of the faithful and having supreme power and jurisdiction over the whole church.

Would you side with A) or B)

No, your rigidity in these things is incorrect. God clearly tells us in 2 Peter 3:8 that he is not so rigid in his usage of the terms: day, hour, week, year, last days, last times...:

2 Peter 3:8
But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.

--------------------------

We can also deduce that "the last days" in 2 Peter 3:3 are not literal 24 hour days.

2 Peter 3:3
Knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires.

So there is no requirement for 42 months to be 3.5 years. You yourself (and others) are making this requirement, which is why your interpretation is in error.[/QUOTE]

We all know that Daniel's seventy weeks is not a literal 490 days.

And yet people like you insist that Daniel's time, times, and half a time must be 3.5 years.

In fact you are so bent on times, times, and half a time being 3.5 years that you will immediately put your fingers in your ears and say, "not listening, not listening" if someone dares to consider it meaning something other that 3.5 yrs.

therefore you cant even have an intellectual discussion with you.

It sounds that you do not love him. Do you love the pope? If you dont love him, then is he not a servant of the Lord?

Who declares themselves what? Do you know anything about Catholics? Have you ever heard the Pope speak? He is all about love and unity in Christ. The only "thing " that the Pope Declares himself is a servant of God... The only advise I can give you is to get on your knees and pray for the answer... This Worked for me . God bless...
If I were still a practicing Catholic I would light a candle for him, for the member and not the pope.

The temple of God is the church in the NT. The Papacy sits in Christendom, the temple of God. He also dominates Christendom through Roman Catholic teaching. "Free-will" is foremost in many churches.

If a person becomes a Catholic it is expected that they should abide by Catholic teachings and customs. But this is expected by
every Denomination and Church organisation. Many were started by people who disagreed with something in the teaching or customs of the group they belonged to.
