Really confused about something. I had something I thought God wanted that included another person. He seemed to confirm it, I was like “Ok Lord if it’s your will then let’s go” and then suddenly the person in question has seemingly shut down the idea.

Does this mean I was wrong? Was it that God wanted it but maybe the other person wasn’t willing to be obedient? I’m confused...

Praying for peace and clarity in this situation.

The Lord works in ways we don’t always understand. We just have to trust Him and pray for guidance and direction.

I think several of the messages in the bible is to obey your own instincts or wisdoms or intelligences instead of what 'voices' might say. It could lead to disaster.
"The devil can disguise itself as an angel of light"
"Lead us not into temptation"
Just be righteous.

I'd pray for the Holy Spirit to show you what happened. We are all growing in those kind of situations so don't feel alone. Apparantly the Lord wasn't in sync, kick back and rethink if it was you that wanted it to happen. Also, the Bible says that if we pray for wisdom. He will give it to us. I pray this just about everyday over my family:)!

It can be so frustrating to try to figure things out sometimes.
I have found that most of the time when I hear God saying something to me about a plan or the future, He will often confirm it several different ways so that I am absolutely sure it is Him speaking.

After God confirms His word and I am sure He's spoken, things often change and it will look like what I thought was true actually isn't, because the situation doesn't look the same. This is why I wait for God to confirm His word before I act on it, because it is going to be put to the test. God solidifies His truth for us to see so that when the tests come, we know what is real and right.

This has happened many many times throughout history and is recorded in the Bible in almost everyone's stories. Moses believed that God wanted him to save the Hebrews from slavery so he killed a man for beating one of his fellow Jews. This was not God's way and Moses had to run away and hide in the wilderness for forty years shepherding sheep. (But God used that time to mold Moses into the man He needed him to be.) God WAS going to save Israel through Moses, but He needed to train him first.

That is just one of many examples and you are not going to wait forty years to see God come through. Just know that when God speaks a word to you, it doesn't always happen immediately and it doesn't always happen the way you think it will. But you can trust God. He will never lead you astray.

It's possible that you heard the Holy Spirit wrong. Or you may have heard correctly, but the timing is wrong.
You can ask God for more clarity, for more confirmation. He is never afraid of your questions. Many of the heroes of the Bible asked God for more confirmation even when they were pretty sure God was telling them something, because they wanted to make sure He was really speaking to them. You can go boldly before the throne of grace to ask God to help you know the truth.
He is THE MOST LOVING DADDY and He is happy to see you come to Him.

God bless you. I hope you get your answer soon.

Yeah, Moses didn't kill the Egyptian because he believed God wanted to free the Jews. The first Moses knew of this was at the burning bush. And even that was years after he left Egypt. Further yet Moses wasn't eager, rather he argued. So much so that he angered God and God had to have Moses use Aaron to speak through, at first.
This notion of a God following Moses overly eager to be used to free the Jews, even to the point of murder, is patently false.
