Hi,
I am new here. I'm looking for a forum that discusses Bible Software. I study the Bible in the original text (Hebrew). Can someone be so kind and point me in the right direction. Which forum is right for me? Thanks have a great day - Michael

Me too. I use e/Sword, and I have several languages including Hebrew. It is very user friendly. I aalso have the Word which I do not use much. It also has the languages.

Alos I have several, many, files and links for varied Hebrew referencing. Since losing much of my vision I do not use most of them very much, but I do use e/sword daily.

Hi,

Yes, these days my computer is on Bible software all day, I spend hours with the Bible - it keeps me calm especially with all the Corona germs flying around.

This lock-down is doing wonders for my Bible Study. I bet there are a lot of people in the same boat. Before Corona, it was rush here, rush there and no time for anything - now it is a blessing in disguise - no place to go - so I have time. And like many other grandparents, my grand kids can’t visit, I’m shut-in, but I want to stay in a good frame of mind and I found studying the Hebrew Bible really works for me. This chat group with so many participants sounds like an ideal place to discuss the Bible and share ideas.

I’m looking for a Bible software program that focuses on the Hebrew Bible and will help people who do not know much Hebrew. To learn Hebrew I’m using something called, Read and Speak Hebrew for Adults. That is good, I managed to finish it and now use it for review. I need something that pronounces every word of the Hebrew Bible so I can learn how to say the words. The reason I am so focused on the Hebrew Bible is, that is the source for everything that followed and the original text of the Bible was written in ancient Hebrew. I need a good foundation and without the original Hebrew text, I do not know what G-d said, all I see is what others say G-d said.

I tried eSword and also got Logos – I find I concentrate better with a computer than with a tablet – forget about the phone – can’t read it. I even signed up for a Biblical Hebrew online course from Hebrew University in Jerusalem and it was good, but required a set time for the classes and I could not keep their schedule, I needed something more flexible. So I keep looking and asking. I did find the Word-By-Word - Hebrew Bible Study Tool. I found them from an article in the Jerusalem Post that was discussing Bible Software developed in Israel. The company TES had a great review and I figured why not, I already invested a bundle in Bible Software I’ll give them a shot – was not much – I got a copy of Genesis. Initially I did not use it much, but now I use it every day and I’m more than happy, but still looking. So if you know of anything that does Biblical Hebrew let me know.

By the way I am studying about Abraham, I see the name of his dad and brothers, but what was the name of his mom? If you know, or know where to look – give me a shout.

Stay Safe – not so easy these days!
Mike

Just thinking how bless we are. Well look at the NT.. it was all written from what they knew heard read in the TORAH. Yet only a few could even have that. Look at us today? MIND BLOWING! Praise you Father.. thank you.

Hi,
Tried to get those PDFs - thanks again for the consideration.

This is what I found - it is excellent and I got it FREE!
Don't know why it's Free, but I downloaed it and all the features working
so I guess it is a real free offer.

Here's the link to the Free Version of the Word by Word - this is a winner.
https://jewishsoftware.com/products/wordbywordfree/index.html

I also need a software application for Biblical Hebrew?
Something that will give me feedback so I know if I am correct.

Let me know,
Mike

I need something that pronounces every word of the Hebrew Bible so I can learn how to say the words.
Not sure if anyone has provided the following suggestion (I haven't read every post in this thread), but at BlueLetterBible if you type a verse or chapter into their "Search," then you can Select (the box at top, for it to have) "Strong's" and then where the Strong's numbers show up between the words, if you Select one of those Strong's numbers, it will take you to the Hebrew word (or Greek word, depending on your verse), where THAT page has an icon (to the right of the word) resembling a "Speaker" (be sure to turn your "Sound" on)... That Speaker provides the audio pronunciation (and hopefully they are pronouncing it right. :D LOL. JK):

[example below (Dan9:25)... I've already "Selected" for the "Strong's" to show up, as indicated by the Greek Checkmark at top]

https://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/dan/9/25/ss1/s_859025 [select one of the Strong's numbers, and it will take you to the Hebrew Word, and its pronunciation at the Speaker icon... just to the right of that word]

Hope this helps you in your endeavor. = )

Thanks the blueletterbible is nice.
But I needed a Hebrew Bible that gives me the pronunciation and the translation of each word.
That I did not see - perhaps I am missing something.

Only place I find something that works so far for me - is at this linke and there it is free https://jewishsoftware.com/products/wordbywordfree/index.html

Hebrew was taught to me online. I have many free documents, grammar books, and a Hebrew Bible in separate parts, all gratis but it has been so long since I have a difficult time locating them. I will try to find more.. There are a lot of resources for Hebrew, like most subjects online. God bless you.
