New and lonely

Actually as one that regularly uses it myself it has nothing to do with an inability to catch it. Written communication is a poor conductor of intention. Nor do I know you personally to know if that is a common approach you take.
Lastly people saying such things and being serious is pretty common on this site.
If it were only My inability to catch your sarcasm, due to my own lack of understanding, what is the purpose of apologizing to others? And where is the personal criticizim to them for not catching it?

I think a lot of us look to the internet when we are lonely. Especially during this Covid crisis, when the internet is just about all the connection we have.

I have taken to the internet myself during lonely times, both as a single and married. What I would say about it is, the internet can be spotty. At times I have been challenged intellectually and made some connections. Other times...nothing. Or worse, you come finding a bunch of other people looking for a fight.
