I have been on several Christian forum sites over the last several years, only to find what appears to be the same controversial, but mostly safe topics discussed over and over again. It seems as though there is no like mindedness regarding these issues, with the vast majority of us often vehemently adhering to our long held dogmas, even when we are shown with numerous scriptures that our perspectives contradict what the Word states. Not only does this blind attitude make those of us who deny the Word look naive, but many of the visitors who come to these forums seeking the Lord, but seeing this petty bickerings, will then not only leave seeking the Lord on these forums, but will even leave having less faith in God.

It never tires me to respond to this. There are always new people who find the old and tired topics new, so they must be given their opportunity to read it new-to-them. It is like the Bible, itself, always worthy of rereading.
PS It is always possible that one thing is true for one believer but not for another........it is in the Book.

I think most disagreements are from what people have been taught. It reflects the division in the different churches if anything.

What you have stated is probably true to some extent but please keep in mind that this site is promoted primarily for Christian fellowship, we are family,. and like in any family there are squabbles from time to time. At least this keeps the conversation flowing and adds to the interest.

I don't believe that you will ever find like-mindedness on any issue in regards to spiritual concerns because we are all on different levels of spiritual grow in regards to particular areas or situations. In other words each of us is a unique creation of God and have been given a specific purpose to accomplish through the grace of God.

Very good JamueJ, it is always good to bring the old topics up to the new visitors, but should not these old topics have been settled upon here on these forums? If they are not settled, what then do we provide the visitors, other than controversy? We therefore need the whole Word, as the Lord is found in the volume of the book, and not just bits and pieces of it, as cherry picking is the devil's deception.

Yes, it is what people have been taught that are the cause for most disagreements. We therefore need the whole Word in order to rightly divide the Word to see if what is claimed is true. Like the Bereans in Acts 17 who read the Word often.

I hope that Christian brotherhood and God's love does flow here. I have merely pointed out that the cause for many of the controversies on this and other Christian forums appears to be dogmas, many of which deny the Word. We therefore need the whole Word, and not just bits and pieces, as cherry picking scriptures will only add to the darkness and enmity many Christians now face.

Beginning to read the Bible in 1969 I went on to reading many versions and in several languages.
Now I do not see well enough to read any, so I go by what the Lord moves me to recall when discussing and listening to narratives of the Word, but it is not quite the same.
As many others, all I believe, I share here what I hae been given to understand. It is always possible for two dtrue believers to have differing understandings of the same teaching. This should be acceptable to all who are learning, but it is oft times the basis for disputes. This will always be the case until our Savior returns.

If you come here expecting better, prepare to be disappointed. The BDF is nothing but the same arguments over and over. And name calling and accusing others of being heretics or even unsaved. Many over the years have quit the site because of this. And I say that as one that's been around since 2011.
And both sides sound identical. "I've shown him the proof in scripture and he refuses to believe".

Yes, we will have differences of opinion on various topics. But should we not at least be beyond the basics on the forums, in order to present visitors with some basic tenets? Of course we should, but even the basics seem to be beyond many on these forums, due often to rejecting the Word, in order to feel comfortable with a few passages that are often not understood in their full context.
Even Paul had controversy with Peter, which ultimately resulted in Peter recognizing what was right.

Hello Subhumanoidal,
I have been on this forum previously, but was out for a time when the site was down.
I know what to expect controversy wise from previous visits on this as well as to other Christian forums.
And yes, we do need proof in scriptures, but we need the whole proof, and not just bits and pieces that many use not realizing they are twisting the Word to say something other than what it is saying. The Lord is found in the whole volume of the book.

Matters of prophecy fulfillment will unfold to understanding by all who believe when our Father wills it to be. Until then whether two agree on anything other than salvation by the Sacrifice and free gift of Jesus/Yeshua is really of no vital concern to the sheep.

We allmust be as children in the sight of our Father in order to enter into the Kingdom.

All who wprefer to be the expert theologian, scientist, historian, philosopher, or any other manner of adult may do so at his or her own risk.

Approach each other as family in Jesus/yeshua and again, as children of the Father and all will be well.

Yes, matters of prophecy fulfillment will unfold to understanding by all who believe. Your statement is corroborated in Daniel 12:4 where individuals throughout the world inquiring about the events during the end times shown Daniel in chapters 11 & 12, with their knowledge and understanding in regards to these prophecies then increasing.
We are all also told to watch for when the events in the Olivet discourse in Mark 13, Luke 21, and Matthew 24 should arise.
I am therefore one those who is watching, while I do see some of the beginning of sorrows calamities commencing.

Some people will lack understanding the word of God because of partial information.

Some people go by their denomination as truth, which the denomination lays down a foundation for them to believe and that is how they see the Bible.

Some people have a belief that is not part of the Bible, and they drag it in to the Bible, and it becomes their foundation for interpreting scriptures, or some scriptures.

But it is strange that when scriptures clearly interpret the meaning of a subject in the Bible that some will still ignore it and believe what they have been believing as truth.

And they will keep going over the same subjects in debate for the denominations keep going over the same subjects in debate.

But it is strange how a person or group can be a founder of a denomination but they do not adhere to the truth even though they should be well learned in the Bible if they start a denomination.

And then people get in left field with the new age movement, Christian Science, Scientology, and others like them that are really seriously flawed.

Because churches like them have a belief not part of the Bible and they drag it in to the Bible, and it becomes their foundation for interpreting scriptures.

And it does not look good for people wanting to know about the Bible and Christianity when they fight with each other over truth, and many will disregard Christianity, and more so as time goes on.

Which the belief in evolution will affect them the most concerning the Bible until there is no personal God, but people are still evolving to be greater and spiritual.

1Ti 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
1Ti 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
1Ti 4:3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
1Ti 4:4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
1Ti 4:5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

God warns the saints of the new age movement that interprets the Bible according to the occult, and evolution, and people are still evolving to be greater and spiritual provided by the New Age Christ, and Jesus is not Lord and Savior, but a good teacher and love, and evolved to be an ascended master and avatar, and believe in no personal God, but honor the God of forces, or the power of nature as their higher power, the evolutionary process, and the New Age Christ is the final teacher.

Forbid to marry for population reduction.

Command to abstain from meats, the occult, reverence of nature, mother earth.

2Ti 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
2Ti 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

The time will come the world will want to hear the Bible according to the new age movement.

The world will get more selfish, and arrogant, and self exalting as time goes on, for that is the direction they are going, combined with evolution, and people are still evolving, with people being fed up with Christianity and their hypocrisy, and fighting over the what is truth of the Bible, and eventually will cause the world to stop the preaching of the Gospel, and the Bible as it was once believed as truth.

Which Christian Science, and Scientology, and the new age movement, and people like Eckhart Tolle is a testimony that it is going in that direction.

But of course there is a plan to cause the new age movement to flourish in the world, and will be pushed more by the New Age Christ when he establishes peace in the Middle East, so that does not help the cause of Christianity in the truth.

It has been a conundrum all the opposing points of view on Christ's gospel until now MattforJesus. Today, however, with what appears to be the beginning of sorrows in the Olivets, in which the pandemic Covid-19 is just one; I believe this and other soon to follow sorrows, to represent the shake out of everything that can be shaken in Hebrews 12:26-27. During the upcoming worst of times, those with root in the Word will not be shaken out, while those who cherry pick scriptures twisting them to say what they want to believe, and thereby have no real root in the Word, will be those who are shaken out.

Hebrews 12:26 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.
27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

Satan doesn't sleep. Of course there will be differing opinions and interpretations. Also our own flesh with sin, biases, and pride can also hurt our interpretation.

Ignorance or poor study skills can have a affect.

I believe the Word is 100% infallible and accurate. But mankind is not perfect but also in the midst of spiritual warfare.

Division is one of Satan's main tactics. Divided we are weaker, united we are stronger.

Only one truth can exist but everyone claims they hold the true interpretation.

This is why in less something attacks the core beliefs of Christianity or soul salvation then to me all other matters are good for studying but not dividing over.

But for example some see water baptism as a soul salvation issue while others dont. So you will have a division.

Good points Roughsoul1991, and this is why we need to acknowledge the whole Word, and not just some Word that paint a pretty picture the devil may have painted, which other scriptures in the Word, clearly point and paint a different picture.

I agree. Unfortunately even in acts at the beginning of the church we already saw quarrels, debates, false teachers, and division.

I think many of these quarrels in the early church came about as they do today, where many have little root in the Word, and thereby offer opinions based on conjecture.

Agree many in the early church was from OT Judaism mixing with the new covenant.
