Matthew 11:28-30
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

1 Peter 5:6-7
“Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”

You know, what would you suggest how one can help empty oneself from self? I mean are there applicable things we can do. Or merely lean into His, the greatest example ever, the King Himself?

Don't scold yourself too much over it, Up.

Believe me, we've all done it, and some of us still keep going :). It's all part of our daily walk. Just pick yourself back up and keep posting with us. :)

@CharliRenee -- awesome thread!

I like to keep a picture of him in my mind, when I do there is no room for the adversary.
Keeping my mind "stayed on Him" with praise song in my mind or scripture in my mind, a type of scriptural meditation.

Well for myself, I got a lot of humility. Yes sirree, and I'm proud of it! I like to tell everybody about how humble I am.

"Humility is realizing how small you really are. You can't be truly grateful that God loves you until you realize you are insignificant and God loves you anyway."

"Modesty is the art of drawing attention to whatever it is you're being humble about."

I have problems with humbleness.

As you may, or may not have seen from my posts here, I’ve got both a show off streak and a stubborn streak. Not to forget the pride streak and the envious streak.

I talk way too much, and I’m very stubborn about things. It might be fun if you just read my posts, but IRL it can be a little annoying I think.

I really need to humble myself.

How wonderful that you would post this, I believe it to be a desire of your heart, thus He will guide you in this!
Taking my mind off me is an essential step for me.
With Jesus nothing was ever for Him, always for others, He had not where to lay His head. He modeled how we are to live our life.
bless you sister.

Sue, it's not annoying, I we like it, as Seoul affirmed above it's part of our daily walk... we are who we are in Christ, we all need to talk more🙂

"Be still and know that I am God"
Shittim, blessings bro, great tips. Just worship Him, thank Him. Oh and there is that quote up there that I'll repeat... Screenshot_20200423-144454_Google.jpg the end of this lands so sweetly, go to the Father in secret... just as He tells us, huh? It is reading those verses, like you shared, thank you. Then somehow, He helps apply them when we are in our one on One quiet times.

Brother thank you. You know maybe as you and this audio book said, study His walk with humility, and do it again. He never went on in His thoughts. He lived His entire time here giving of self completely serving His father and others. In His end, He literally died for us, Praise be to God, He is alive.

@Lynx, you are sooo funny. Thank you.
Hey u know what, when I first started hanging out more here in the forums, and found I could change my description under my name, I put humble servant. Hahaha, it is sooooo funny to me because I was soooo delusional. I had a great deal to learn about myself. Yes, I want to be humble ,very much, but if one is truly humble they do not say they are, especially with a loud trumpet, letting everyone know...looky me, I am humble.

@up I agree so much with seoul (thank you, btw), you better not be too hard on yourself. You and your posts are a blessing here. Glad you are good to go. U really live up to your up'ness, lol. You always bounce back.

@Susanna yup yup yup and yup, I feel ya sista, big time though. Is it ok though, that I think you should be less stubborn and post more, lol. Your ability to not take yourself seriously and make us laugh is PRICELESS!!!

Ugh, I hate when I sound scripted, ugh. Oops there I go with my I sentences. Just speak your truth and don't overthink it, WOMAN, grrrrrrrr!!! Ok, whew...lol. i think it best if I just click send.

You come across humble. But you are right, we all need more of His himility. Sheeeesh, I need it more than anyone. I think Him so so much more, but Mother Teresa, who spent her entire life serving was a great example for us too. Can you even imagine the peace she had to have? I mean her heart was burdened, I am sure, for those children. But It had to be such an overwhelming peace to be that selfless.
