I may be splitting hairs but I think there can be two definitions of "sinner":

1. One who stands condemned because he/she has not accepted Christ's work in atoning for sins, a lost person.

2. One who commits sin, whether that person is lost or saved.

I think the OP is saying that because she has Christ, she no longer stands condemned before God.
The OP openly stated that people who sin belong to Satan. There’s no wiggle room with that statement because EVERYONE sins, including born again believers in Jesus Christ.

Actually, @Lightskin -

You were a sinner, but when you received the Blood and Body of Yeshua/Jesus- He took ALL your sin away.

You’re NOT a sinner anymore.

You are a child of the Most High God, loved dearly, sealed with His Holy Spirit.

You just need to be baptized and filled with His Holy Spirit and learn how to stay continually filled with His Holy Spirit so you can walk by the Spirit and NOT fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

Take up your cross, deny yourself(flesh/carnality), and follow Yeshua/Jesus Christ.

If you do not stay filled with the Holy Spirit, you will stumble and fall over your flesh. When you do, just ask God for forgiveness and get back up.

You’re NOT a sinner, you’re a child learning how to walk.

Sinners are under the penalty of Death for their sins. Your sin is gone, Yeshua/Jesus took it away.

You are NOT a sinner. To the praise and glory of Yeshua/Jesus and the Father - the One who sent Him, you are NOT a sinner.(y)

That is true we are not sinners for all our sins are forgiven, although we may err at times by committing sins but we repent of them which means we do not want them anymore.

A person that has the Spirit would have sins that are not real offensive if they do sin like they might get mad at someone that offended them and yell at them idiot, or some name out of anger, and then quickly repent of it.

I worked for my uncle doing roofing when I was young, and he went to Church, does not swear, and we were on the roof, and people down on the ground working, and my uncle told me to go down to His truck and get some money out of his wallet and go get us something to drink, but I went back up on the roof and said you have no money.

Well he started swearing and hitting the roof kind of hard with his hammer when he was working, for someone on the ground must of stole it, and I do not remember but I am pretty sure they were included in the swearing, and called a name.

It could be that he actually did not have any money in his wallet and thought he did.

But it was because he was mad and it came out as a spur of the moment thing, but he quickly got over it and moved forward and I never heard him swear again.

A person might gossip a little with someone they like because they favor that person and do not want to appear to them as being standoffish to not be involved in the gossip with that person, but usually they will try to minimize the amount of gossip they say, and may be most of the time nodding their head as if they agree for they do not want to offend the person.

But then they will feel bad and not want to do it again, but sometimes they might let someone persuade them to talk like they would not want to talk.

Like be involved in a nasty joke with your brother because you like him so you go along with it but then get rid of it.

They may even cheat on a school test because they did not study, for the reality they may not pass the class or not get the grade they wanted might cause them to do it, but they will feel bad and get rid of it.

Small things like that is what a person of the Spirit might do if they sin, for being led of the Spirit would not cause them to do any sins that are really terrible, and not terrible at offending a person.

Although they may not sin at all for if we hate sin, and do not want sin, by the Spirit we can abstain from sin, but a person led of the Spirit would have low key sins for they are too rooted in the goodness of God, and they would not come up on a frequent basis.

They might argue with their spouse more than they should, or with someone else, for it is the heat of the moment, and then repent knowing they should not act that way.

A person led of the Spirit would not sin by engaging in a big drug smuggling operation.

Or get involved with a gang with whips and chains for a night of rumbling with the rival gang.

Or break in to a house for a little free merchandise when the people are on vacation, and if they were home would not tie them up to rob them.

For a person led of the Spirit if they sin it is low key, and usually a spur of the moment thing that was not planned out but happened on the spot.

They might lust after the opposite sex when they see them walk by for a few seconds, or maybe even a minute.

People led of the Spirit would be conscientious to not offend people although they might if they got mad at them, but if we get mad at them let us not say go to hell like the world, but say go to heaven, but we should not offend anyone.

Gal 2:11 But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed.
Gal 2:12 For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision.
Gal 2:13 And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation.
Gal 2:14 But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?

Paul got in Peter's face because he was not walking uprightly according to the truth of the Gospel, which Peter had a problem with fearing the circumcision, but Peter stopped doing that.

Peter erred for he feared the circumcision and his fear caused him to err not that he wanted to offend anybody, but he stopped doing that for he had the Spirit.

A person without the Spirit will hold unto sin and believe they still have salvation, but even though they are hypocritical it will not be as bad as the world if they confessed Christ as Lord correctly but they want to enjoy the things of the world like the world which usually results in going by their wants, and neglecting the poor and needy.

Even Jehovah's witnesses who do not claim Jesus as God, but a man of God will still have some goodness for they follow God, but the power is not there to help them overcome the flesh, but they want to represent goodness so they have somewhat morals, but cannot be complete in morals by the flesh alone.

A person that has the Spirit might sin, and at the time they were not led of the Spirit, but they still have the Spirit, and they will get rid of the sin.
Thank you for taking the time to share what you think.

Yeshua/Jesus Christ took ALL your sin away, MattforJesus. You are No Longer a sinner.

However, you, me and all believers will stumble over our flesh if we are not filled with the Holy Spirit.

We need to
learn to walk by the Spirit so we do not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

This whole discussion is pretty easily solved, scripture is clear.

Jesus within us is sinless... we as humans still here on earth .....still sin.
Wrong. We have no sin because Yeshua/Jesus took all our sin and gave us His Righteousness.

I’m sure it grieves Him when we call ourselves “sinners.” He doesn’t call us sinners, why should we?

Our salvation is complete- there is no more sin in us. There cannot be sin in us because the penalty of sin is Death.

Christ has given us Eternal Life because His Blood paid the penalty of sin which is Death and His Body is the Gift of His Righteousness in exchange for our filthy rags.

All He wants us to do now is “choose” to love Him, choose His Will for us, learn how to live this new life with Him now on the Earth and in Heaven.

He has sealed, baptized and filled us with the Holy Spirit. ONLY by being filled with the power of the Holy Spirit can we walk by the Spirit and not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

With NO SIN, the Righteousness of God, and filled with the Holy Spirit we can walk in Love with Authority in the Earth - be the spotless, no blemishes or wrinkles Bride of Christ. He won’t accept anything less when He returns.

Just gotta learn how to walk....:love:(y)

Did you not read what I said here? "So yes, "POSITIONALLY" we are seated with Christ but while were in these wretched bodies we still commit sin." What's so hard about that to understand? What she posted leaves the impression that she's not a sinner. That is what I was pointing out to the viewers. So what did I say that's not true?

IN GOD THE SON,
bluto
Correct, not only me but all believers in Christ are NO LONGER sinners.

Don’t you see how crazy it is to get saved, receive God’s Righteousness, His Holy Spirit and then STILL call yourself a SINNER?!

We’re NOT sinners anymore. We’re God’s children learning how to walk...God in His great wisdom left us in these fallen bodies, why do you suppose...

God STILL wants us to have a choice. He wants us to know Him and love Him. Love ALWAYS has to have a choice.

We are to be FILLED with the Holy Spirit so we can walk by the Spirit and not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

Paul, just like us struggled with this and came to the conclusion that there is NO CONDEMNATION for those that are in Christ - because they have NO SIN, they have the Righteousness of God in Christ. We’re NOT sinners.

Just learn to walk by being filled with the Holy Spirit.(y)

The thing is, we are family here and I am quite familiar with the OP from her extensive post history, forum decorum and how she treats other members. I was under no impression that she was implying that she was not a sinner but rather that Jesus has paid the price for her sins, past, present, and future and in the eyes of God she has been cleansed with the precious blood of Jesus and in the eyes of God she is as white as snow and she no longer was classified as a sinner.

You said nothing false at all, and yes, while in these wretched bodies we still commit an occasional sin. I believe that Paul experienced the same thing too as he though that he was a wretched sinner. He prayed 3 times for God to remove the thorn in his flesh and that thorn may have been a sin problem he was struggling with. God said that His grace was sufficient. It is sufficient for us a well.
@tourist, thank you for your kind words of family!

I actually am implying that all believers including me are no longer sinners because of Christ.

He did not die for us, give us His Blood to completely take away our sin, give us His Righteousness, and seal, baptize and fill us with the Holy Spirit for us to live on the Earth and keep calling ourselves SINNERS.

No way! Absolutely not! SINNER is NOT what He wants me calling myself.

All true born again believers are the Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus! Amen.

He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

Correct, however even born again believers who are more than occasional stumbler’s are part of the body of Christ and have eternal salvation. The OP openly stated that such people belong to Satan. That is categorically incorrect.
Wrong. You’re saying I said things that I did not say.

I said...

Sinners are captive and blinded by the god of this world which is Satan.

Saved true born again believers CANNOT be Sinners because Sinners belong to Satan and we as true born again believers BELONG TO CHRIST.

Believers should NOT call themselves “sinners” anymore because we are NOT.

Thank you, @NotmebutHim for trying to understand and make sense out of what I am saying.

However, what I am saying is messing with a lot of people’s theology about “sin.”

Even so, I’ll say it again....

I cannot say say I have the Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus in one breath and then say I also have sin. That’s crazy mixed up theology.

God saved us then, left us in these earthen vessels, why? Not so we could still be sinners struggling with sin, but He is still teaching us how to make right choices. With the power of the Holy Spirit, we can! He wants us to learn how to be filled everyday with the Holy Spirit so we can walk by the Spirit so we do not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

It’s a process. We’re learning how to walk. We stumble over our flesh when we neglect the Holy Spirit within us, I don’t see it as sin, I see it as stumbling, being taken in a fault, we’re to restore, forgive one another and get back up again.

He won’t accept anything less when He returns.
It is only His righteousness not ours and that is why we are acceptable.

You are confusing the two different things

We have a positional righteous, and positional sanctification.
Our behaviour is not what makes us sinless ... it Christ within that makes us sinless

We are called to conform our lives to what is a reality...... why.......to live the life of liberty, live a profitable life and bear witness to the faith.

I don’t see it as sin,
It is sin and we still sin and no one will walk perfectly in this temporal life.

True born again believers are NOT sinners. We are Children of the Most High God and we are learning how to walk.

John was reminding them that when they were unsaved sinners, they needed a Savior. They needed the Blood of Yeshua/Jesus Christ to cleanses them from all their sin - the same is true for us and all sinners. No one can deny they need a Savior because all have sinned and if any unsaved say they have not sinned then they are lying.

Rejoice! Our sins are forgiven! We are saved. We can now walk in the Light because His blood cleansed us.

1 John 1:7-10 King James Version (KJV)
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Even if we now stumble and fall in the Light we are still in the Light - we have a GOOD Shepherd - we do NOT belong to Satan anymore. Sinners belong to Satan, NOT born again believers.

1 John 3:8-9 King James Version (KJV)
8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
I believe that you are misinterpreting John 3:9. It is true that those of us that have been born again cannot commit a sin that will keep us out of heaven, but if you think that this verse is telling us that we do not commit sins after we are born again, you are mistaken. When we are born again, and we are walking in the Spirit, we are in good fellowship with God. When we yield ourselves to the temptations of this world and commit a sin, we separate ourselves from our fellowship with God, because God does not fellowship with sin. We do not lose our eternal inheritance, only our fellowship, temporary, until we repent and regain our fellowship with God back. If you examine yourself honestly you should realise that you do sin when, as you state it, you backslide.

If we say we have no sin we are liars, yet those who commit sin are of the devil?

This is one of those texts that have puzzled many, does anyone here have a good explanation?? I have heard some good some bad, from both sides. I have heard some say it means one sin and you're of the devil, which I believe is ridicilous when we look at the totality of the Bible. I have heard others say it means the born again man inside of us is sinless and thats what its talking about, but that also doesnt make sense because it says He that committeth sin, implying a possibility TO sin.

Anyone have any other explanations?

My personal view is that its talking about "In general" as the Scriptures often do, for example, Judas said why dont we give this money to the poor, yet in some gospels its rendered as "disciples", its just their way of speaking.
When you first come to GOD you have made a choice with your flesh/mind to repent and you must be true In repentance for no one can come to GOD and not be truly from the heart repentent.Remember GOD IS a SPIRIT and those who worship HIM MUST worship HIM In Spirit and In TRUTH.
After GOD accepts you and makes your Spirit perfect,Paul wrote In Romans and this Is talking about your flesh/mind.

Romans 12:1-2
King James Version

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

No, I disagree. We stumble in our flesh if we are NOT filled with the Holy Spirit, but we do not sin because the penalty of sin is Death. We're learning HOW to WALK by the Spirit. We are NOT sinning. We're in Christ.

Wrongfully, many Christians try to obey God with their own strength - they wrestle with their flesh. That is so draining and not necessary.

We need to stir up the Gift of the Holy Spirit that is within us as a true born again believer and by so doing, we will NOT fulfill the lusts of the flesh.
When we have been born again, of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and we sin, we separate ourselves from our fellowship with God, because God does not fellowship with sin. Death, according to Greek, is a separation, so we experience a death.

What is the penalty of sin? Death.

What Gift has Yeshua/Jesus given us as true born again believers? Eternal Life.
Which covers our SIN NATURE. God sees the blood, not the sin. It doesn't;t mean we shed sin nature, it means that nature was covered by the blood. Anything outside the perfect will of God is SIN, are you PERFECT SISTER? Of course not. There are times when we do not heed the Holy Spirits voice, there are times when we get angry. Have you not told a lie at all since you have been born again ? So,e people tell white lies to not hurt peoples feeling like, Howd yall like my taters Billy Bob? Oh, they were wonderful Aunt Martha !! Cough, arrrghh Chocking on those rotten taters. If we fail to tell sinners they are IN SIN you do know that is a sin right ?

Ezekiel 3:18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

1Jn 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.
1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1Jn 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.
This is the truth. John was clear that we are all need to remain in repentance. That though we do sin we are not with out hope, that in confession Christ forgives. Because even in doing good our good deeds are stained with pride and self-righteous. That our envies, lusts, pride, selfishness, are always there to stumble us.

excellent.Stumble Is a Much better word.☺️
Good grief, you now have to pick words to "soft-soap" the word "SIN?" Stumble, slipped, made a mistake, backslid a little bit, didn't mean to do it, it's not as bad as all that, afterall it's just a little sin, I mean I didn't murder anybody. I suggest you read Romans 7:25 and please explain what the Apostle Pauo's point is? Also for context read the verses before and after vs25.

IN GOD THE SON,
