Apologia in Greek. In English Apologetic. To give a defense for ones faith. Paul was often giving a apologia using examples within the world.

Apologetics is Biblical. Apologetics is great when evangelizing especially hardcore critics who try to sow in doubts within believers or professors who tell our Christian children that the Bible isn't historical etc.

That's true but it's equally true that we shouldn't leave all such fields of research to secularists.
It's also a fascinating subject.
