Is it a sin to be praying for a period of time, then a parent wants you for something and you “pause” the prayer and then afterwards continue???
Nice to "see" you again, A. No, I would assure you that it is not. God commands us to honor our parents. It is good to be respectful and promptly responsive to them. 🙂 I would rather think that God is pleased with your immediate obedience to them.
Of course, if they then ask you to do a task where you can simultaneously work and pray, that would be fine too. We can pray throughout the course of our day. But, yes, making time to be alone and pray is an important practice as well.
Mark 7:9-13 condemns the idea of not helping your parents financially because you say that your money is dedicated to God. Couldn't the same idea apply to our time? God commands us to highly respect our parents and He is pleased when we do this.
