Not sure if this is the right place to post this, if not please move.

What is your view on arminianism and Calvinism? I know it can be a contentious topic so let's all be nice and civil. I'm just curious as to what my fellow brothers and sisters view, opinions, and feelings are.

Flush them both. :)

God desires for all men to be saved; and once they're saved, they're saved for eternity.

Arminianism = free will = you take credit for saving yourself through obedience.

Calvinism = bound will = God saves you and takes credit giving you a new obedient nature.

I believe in free will but i do not believe in taking credit for saving myself through obedience.. So if that is an accurate definition of Arminianism then i am not that..

You save yourself by free will even if you don't take credit. = you are the savior.

Nope.. I do not save myself by works .. The Bible declares clearly that believing God / having Faith is not a works.. But calvinists have defined ones free willed belief / Faith in God as a works.. Their definition of Works is different to the Bible definition..

(Romans 3:27-28) "Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. {28} Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law."

It is the grace of God that saves.. To all whom believe and trust in the atonement He secured for us..

You turn the gospel into law and grace into works in the free will system.

Nope.. That's just a one line accusation with no scriptural support..
Law requires free will. This is what holds people responsible. Free will turns the gospel into law and grace into works. And takes credit for salvation away from God.

Free will means that at any given moment a person can make a decision free from any external or internal restraints or determinants.

So you argue against something that is not reality since absolute free will does not exist

The rest of your statement does not make sense to me at all... free will in no way makes grace works.

The Law is the Law it has nothing to do with free will..

The Law convicts us of our need for the Atonement of Jesus.. The Law makes everyone know they cannot attain eternity with God by doing the Law..

There is no logic in your explanation..

Without the Atonement of the LORD Jesus Christ and the conviction of His Holy Spirit no one would be saved.. All glory and boasting is therefore His..

Grace saves those who cannot choose to believe. Free will is the savior for those who think it can. But Only grace saves.

Good thing salvation is not connected to our will, I do not have to pay attention to either of these camps.

Bible believer = the Lord desires to save you, you must be willing to accept His way unto salvation through Jesus Christ.

Calvinism = I’m more special than most since God chose me.

Free will is the savior. God only sets up the works to perform.
