All you have to do is show me where it says present, continuous believing is a work of the works gospel that can not save.
When you stop believing according the bad news of Judges1318 salvation ends....key word "ends"

The fact that continual belief is part of the security of salvation, keeping it from ending, makes it a work!!!!!!

Is this really so hard to grasp!!!

BL could you please do me a favor and remove me from the cc site? I'm sure there is a way to do it myself, just not to computer savvy .

Thanks[/QUOTE]

Pisteuo, I wasn't suggesting that you leave CC. Simply that you need to spend more time with your wife right now, and less time on here with us.. But yes, if you're sure, I can contact a mod and have them delete your account..

it very plainly explains in Heb, that God 'hears those that 'believe' that He IS'...
HEB. 11:6.
But without Faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that comes to God must 'believe that He is',
and that 'He is a Rewarder of them that diligently seek Him'.

Nobody believes God out of their own resources. That's why there is no boast in believing.

A believer can no more boast of having believed than a field can boast of having grown a plant that won't grow there on it's own unless nurtured by a husbandman.
Okay, good, you're halfway there. Let's see if we can turn this waffle into a pancake and have one consistent context....

If you'll notice from context the writer, I should know, because I know the writer... Oh wait, he's me! How cool is this I met the writer! Anyway, he... I... We? We're referring NOT to the moment belief began, but the continuation in belief after it begins, within witch if there is the possibility of failure, any opposition to said failure "I didn't fail!"is said to be worthy of bragging.

I'd like to clarify better that I'm referring to my post, not scripture. I thought I made that clear, but rereading, it certainly was not.

The word " believing" is a mistranslation!

Stopping your little feet and whining about it won't change that fact.

Strong's " pisteuo means NOT just to believe.". Not my words , the Strong's!
Wrong again....your dead mentor's erroneous view.......that you peddle like a street organ player!

Very inconsistent with your "keep on believing" mantra.

Am I missing something?

I completely forgot about this post, and if I haven't been to wordy already, I would like to add in: I don't think he understands that the assurance of the Gospel in those who are saved is in the same magnitude as the omnipotence, omnipresence, and omniscience of God. And that that assurance is never spoken of in an "after-the-fact" context.

And I didn't take it that way. I wore out my welcome a long time ago, it's that time. I just want to make sure I can't come back in a moment of weakness. If you could contact the mod and delete me I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

The moment believing begins and the continuation of that believing is the exact same believing.

We can't boast that we first believed. And since continuing to believe is the exact same believing that we did in the beginning then there is no boast in that believing either. It's the exact same believing.

You're creating a dichotomy that doesn't exist between the believing you did when you first believed and the continuation of that exact same believing as if they are different believing.

You're telling me it's arrogant and boastful to say, 'oh, look at me, I keep believing' (even though the Bible plainly exhorts us to keep believing, and says 'believing' is not self righteous), and I'm told it's wrong to incite unfounded fear in believers about losing salvation, but the Bible warns the believer who does not fear unbelief to not be arrogant, not me who warns against unbelief:

"they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but tremble. 21For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either." - Romans 11:20-21

The warning to not be arrogant is to YOU, not me. I'm the one exhorting believers to continue to trust God in holy fear so they won't be cut out of the vine.

And for those of you who think this warning is for fake believers note the 'you stand by faith' in verse 20. He's talking to believers.
