I have understood for a long time that I needed the blood of Jesus to take care of my yesterdays, but realizing my need to let Him take care of my tomorrows has been a more gradual process. If all I had ever known were sunshiney days, then I would have never realized just how dependent each and every one of us is on Him to give us strength to face our tomorrows. I believe that those who think they can do anything without God are being deceived by the great deceiver. Do you agree that no one can do anything without Him?

I believe that the struggle of yesterday is an integral part of the spiritual refining process and plays a role in who we are and that tomorrow is predicated in how, by the grace of God we handle today.

first of all, hub and I so appreciate Oyster's question for his fellows, simply because he is asking in LOVE -
anyone notice how FEW inputs he got???

any way, back to our Brother's questions:
FIRST, we have to agree with the scriptures that say, 'You can do NOTHING without ME'. -
our 'yesterdays are 'covered', -
ROMANS 5:10.
For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled,
we shall be saved by His life.
our 'yesterdays and our tomorrows are 'covered' by this scripture...
our 'tomorrows' are also mentioned in
MATT.5:19.
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least Commandments, and shall teach men so,
he shall be called the least in The Kingdom of Heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them,
the same shall be called great in The Kingdom of Heaven.

In agreement we need to learn to walk in faith, knowing that we are never alone to face the things we go through in this life.

In Matt 11:28 – 30, Jesus tells us Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

I believe that the purpose of the yoke Jesus asks us to take upon us is not to add additional burden to us.

The purpose is that He takes our burdens upon Him and He walks with us through thick and thin, sharing and alleviating our burdens. That is why His yoke is easy and His burden light.


Then we also read in 2 Cor 4:16-18 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

God renews us inwardly day-by-day so we are able to endure our light affliction, which is but for a moment. Sometimes we are under terrific affliction and we think there is no way we can endure. But somehow, God sees us through. He gives us what we need to take that next step and face that next obstacle. As we keep eternity in mind, we are able to continue on, steadfast in faith, knowing that our suffering will cease and eternal glory will come.

And our continuing in faith is due to our continuing to walk hand-in-hand with the Lord Jesus Christ. He leads us in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake (Psalm 23:3).


As to your question "Do you agree that no one can do anything without Him?"

I believe people do things without Him. But the things done without Him are temporary and will not withstand the fire that shall try every man's work of what sort it is (1 Cor 3:13).

And, yes, we are deceived if we believe we can do anything without God.

Well with it known that God breathes the very breath of life within us and sustains the world around us as the laws of nature and the elements of nature are held within their directions to provide us with a livable planet. God literally holds our life in his hands.

So yes I agree that we could not do anything without God.

I am having struggles enough getting God's eternity into my head and heart, for God's time is eternal time. I love reading about this struggle.

It means accepting the place we are without complaining about it or wanting it to be different, then trusting the lord with our tomorrows. Wow.

I read what people write about being Jews living under Hitler and put myself in their place. I especially like what Corrie ten Boom says about it, and she wasn't even Jewish. Hitler was used by the Lord, he preceded that Israel is a Nation as predicted. No prophecy could be seen happening for many years, now we see it.

We need his body broken for us and his blood spilled out for us every moment of our life, even to be a road to follow hence fourth. That is why we take the Lord's supper, because his body broken and his blooded poured out for us. That way we in communion with him and with the corporate body of believers are joined together with him.
