Do you ever have strange voices and thoughts in your head?

I really enjoyed it enough, for the whole 13 years, unless Jesus advised me the following thing. At first, I couldn't stop myself from bothering with them and swearing to them, sometimes even having a fight with them in my visual visions.

The best thing about it is when you tell them "May the God of Israel mercy on you" or "The God of Israel will judge you, He created you". Because Satan can do nothing more than the Father of Heaven allows him to do. After all, our father is our teacher and he knows best what is good for us. Do not be slack and be merciful and true. After all, Satan is already condemned, he cannot do anything to you.

And what can we do for the Father of Heaven in return?

We can give him love and purity; let your heart be fleshy and open your eyes and think. For when we love every man on earth, we also love the Father of heaven, the Lord Jesus and the holy angels.

Nope. Most people take medication for that.

I feel for any individual who is suffering from voices in one’s head; this phenomenon could result from mental illness (likely) or from demon possession (less likely). True demon possession, although rare, does happen now as in Bible times. In the first century, demonized persons were afflicted in various ways, such as being unable to speak, suffering from blindness and acting insane and even possessing superhuman strength. (Mt 9:32; 12:22; 17:15; Mr 5:3-5; Lu 8:29; 9:42; 11:14; Ac 19:16).

What is critically important is that mental illness can mask itself in the form of hearing voices and professional mental health intervention. Then if the problem persists, one would need to take swift spiritual action that involves, among other efforts, putting “on the complete suit of armor from God that you may be able to stand firm against the machinations of the Devil” and his demons.—1Pe 5:8; Eph 6:11.

this kind of thing is usual in charismatic circles. everyone sees Jesus all the time, Holy Spirit tells them what cheese to buy from the store and everyone has gone to heaven (or hell and come back to tell us a message) and everyone is a prophet and every new year starts off with a dream of in this year its really gonna kick off prophetically. or there will be a last days revival in the midst of apostasy. or the new president of usa is the antichrist (again). evil spirits are lurking behind every door and you got to dance around your house shaking and speaking in tongues casting them out, but its ok, you will live to tell the story and brag about it to your friends. sadly for me i know many of these people and i hate hearing about this daily. no exaggeration i hear it daily its making me crazy as well i want to cut my ears off.

or the rapture is close to happen :rolleyes:

I've wondered about this myself....

I work with a woman who told some of us a few months back that one day she might not show up for her shift. Because we're both church going Christians she confided in me the reason, she explained that she believed the rapture is coming soon.

Now Liz (not her real name) is an amazing and wonderful person, very giving and loving, and not in the least bit 'preachy'. I spoke with her and gave her my impression of the rapture...I understand what she believes it means, God calling His Elect home ahead of Armageddon.

I gave her my thoughts....telling her that I don't presume to understand everything in scripture. I explained that I take comfort from all the times in the Gospels where Jesus' own disciples are unable to understand Jesus' teachings and parables. If those chosen by Jesus Himself were unable to fully grasp the teachings, I figure its okay if I don't have full and complete understanding as well. Hence I have a skeptical view of anyone who claims to know the mind of God and to have insight as to the second coming, a rapture or any other prophesies.

Now with that being said, the question remains....why do so many people ascribe to belief in the rapture and other esoteric things....believing they've been granted the gift of prophesy, or the belief that they've communed with angels and even Jesus Himself?

I think I have one plausible explanation. Its that some people dive so hard and deep into the faith, that they become filled with a thirst and a hunger to know and understand everything, and to have a personal and tangible experience, that in some cases the brain or subconscious or whatever psychological term best applies...it fills in the gap and provides what is missing from genuine experience.

I know what you mean I tried medication too, but it's not solution, it doesn't go deep to base of problem, you must stand with Jesus against it, that is the right medication. Just you must believe and it will go out.

I hear it on a regular basis too. Not so much as to want to cut off my ears. That's tejano music a whole other story.
I usually just roll my eyes and laugh a bit, when my charismatic friends get too, as I call "woo woo" . I had one friend who was pretty bad about looking up as if, listening to God give words to say during Bible study.
God was apparently chatting 'em up during Bible study, but didn't bother saying a word to anyone else, except they come from that individual.
