Seems like a two bad words nowadays.

Many people like to think of having or making your own truth.. that statement of 'what's true for you is true for you, but not for me'

Like the illustration of the elephant that a bunch of people get blindfolded and then each touches the elephant. Each person says something different about what they are feeling.

Or a homage to post modernism that is a construction of stairs going nowhere.

Problem with the elephant story.. they are all touching an elephant! Doesn't matter what they think they are touching.. the truth is it is an elephant!

And with the post modernism piece.. look at the foundation of what the piece is built on..

Braces.. supports etc.. that follow true laws of gravity and physics!

Is Gods word absolute truth or does it contain absolute truth?

All scriptures must fit together like a puzzle. If they seem to contradict each other, you do not have absolute truth.

Creating God in our image is nothing new wattie. That brings comfort to most people as it gives a excuse for the way they are.
Some Churches look at the numbers instead of the faithful. Preachers, pastors looking to make a living off the word of God rather than fulfilling the great commission. Parents teaching their children wives tales instead of the truth.
Well meaning Bible thumpers rather argue the correct definitions rather than preaching Christ crucified.
Wealth and prosperity replacing prayer and perseverance as we wait for his second coming.
Liberalism sweeping across the nation's uniting all as God's children forgetting the Holiness of God and his command to come out from among them and be holy.
Trouble is it seems like the church is its own worst enemy. Who would ever listen to the gospel of peace when it seems that the source is always Waring with themselves?
The serpent once again causing chaos in a world that was once called by God (very good).
Making merchandise of God's holy word and leaving men to do what is right in their own eyes has caused great harm.

So what are we to do?

Truth is by its very nature absolute. If it were not, absolute, it could not be truth. To say "there is no absolute truth" is to make an absolute truth claim.

It might be better to talk about Bible Truth or Gospel Truth. God will have all men to be saved and come unto the knowledge of the Truth (1 Tim 2:4). So whenever we see the phrase "This is a faithful saying..." (1 Tim 1:15) we know it is God's truth.

Absolute not qualified or diminished in any way....total
Truth the quality or state of being true.
Bibical truth conformity to fact of reality,; exact accordance with that which IS,or HAS BEEN, or SHALL BE.

JN.3 To do truth,is to practice what God commands.

My hat is on the table. This is true while it is there but should I take my had and wear it, it was on the table but is no longer. It is relative to the present tense at first but then relative to the passt.

When Jesus tess us He is the Way, the Truth and the Life………….all are absolute truths and eternal.. It is certain there are other eternal absolutes but they would fall under the teaching os our dear Savior.

Having said all this, this and a dollar will not buy you coffeee at most Starbucks, buthen, who does not make it at home?

I remember a policeman once in a documentary talking about a car accident. There were many witnesses, and he asked them what theyc color, make and model of car it was that caused the accident, he got about ten different answers! Its what people perceive to be the truth, and what they think they saw, not the truth.

Another parable, put a man in a room with the rest of us, with a $1200 suit and tie, and very expensive leather shoes, Rolex watch etc, and what do we perceived? A wealthy man, some of us may even look up to him. Now all of us remove our clothing etc, and then what do we see? The stark buck naked truth. In other words, its all an illusion, strip away the layer and you will find the truth

Yup like standing on the shore of an ocean the horizon appears flat to the human eye yet it is a optical illusion for the brain cannot comprehend the height and width of a object so big like what you are standing on earth, so it will flatten the horizon out.

The problem with hearing what scripture tells us is that we are physical living in a physical world and scripture speaks of the spiritual and what that world is like. We have to give up our physical reasoning and listen to spiritual reasoning to hear what it tells us. Many people won't do that, saying you must use common sense.

God gives us symbols and parables to help us, many won't use them.

You make some good point though not sure who are The Who’s but don’t kill is a pretty simple common sense reasoning no symbols or parables needed yet many don’t use common sense
