Hi everyone. Just introducing myself.

I was raised a Roman Catholic by not very devout parents.

I later followed armstrongism.

Now I'm in free fellowship with those like-minded in His Spirit as I am.

I'm a very deep and serious Bible student. I do get into the Hebrew and Greek. I know the process of Salvation very well (relative to explanations from most "Christians").

I hope to engaged an very meaningful discussion.

Greetings, brother Paul. So very glad to have you on board. There are some here that will try to use Greek to pull the wool over your eyes once they see you are not a student of it. I believe that context and synchronizing with the rest of scripture are far more useful tools than moving the same old arguments sideways into another language. God did not suddenly lose His ability to carry forth His Word on the day the KJVs went into print. Inspiration rests firmly upon it to this day IMHO.

Thank you for the greeting Oyster67.

That KJV is based on a Greek Text called the Textus Receptus. So knowing Greek is where we can get closer to the source than our English derivative of the text. I believe that after we have original understanding of the source then that is where the context and contradiction sorting comes into revealing a more accurate understanding.

We will probably both get howled at for not taking this into the Bible Discussion Forum (BDF) yet, but you just used a phrase that I could not resist pouncing upon; "closer to the source". I am very sure that I am very close to the ultimate source. Apologize if that seemed like a play on words, but perhaps I am trying to emphasize the great revealing factor that the Holy Spirit brings into the equation.

Yes, I do think He will come in 2040. I believe so from what I have studied. It is a deep subject but has a lot do with the knowledge of the Jubilee and cycles and understanding the Old Testament pattern which establishes the timeline.

Hello Hewillcome2040 and welcome. May this be a start of many good fellowships for you.

I would say nobody know the hour and day the Lord will come. And to give year will make people think I still got years to waste and got lots of time to get themselves ready. Very unwise and seriously I don't want to be the one that leads people to go in wrong direction.

Thank you for the welcome. If knowing a date in time in the future made people think they could do as they please till the time approaches then they presume that have power over death.

I agree we as humans deceive ourselves.

All of us are in deception, thinking we are gods. Believing still the lie of the devil in the beginning.

Our dependency should squarely be on God alone. Jesus said, without me, you can do nothing.
