Hello again. In message #29 above, you write that you have no health insurance. My son has friends here in NC who have Blue Cross/Blue Shield Obamacare health insurance which is offered to people with lower income.

Denise, could you please visit a BC/BS insurance agent in TN to see if you qualify for a lower premium individual insurance policy based on your income. Denise, please do this.

We feel very fortunate to have you with us, Denise. :)

Hi, I'm Denise. I'm new. 56 years old. No children. Divorced 16 years. Work for Crisis Center 211. Get to pray with people sometimes. LOVE those calls. I work a lot of hours from home. Grateful I don't have to go into the office. Still have my mom and dad. What a blessing. I have 3 dogs.. 2 are clowns. I have one blue and gold macaw. I'm in good health. Anything you want to know.. just ask. I'm an open book. Happy to listen to problems if you need to talk.
Greetings Denise1964 welcome... I think you will like it here in the cc... Lots of amazingly honest, and gracious, sometimes outspoken and opinionated - but always loving, caring and giving of advice for those who are seeking prayer, friendship, support or just a break from their daily routine...
I have good news for you... If you were born in 1964, technically you are still 55 :)...
Of course if your birthday is coming early in the New Year - you will likely be 56 very soon... lol
I know this as I will be 56 in March and I was born in 1964 too... :)
God Bless

Well I had Obamacare for 3 years (different insurance company every year because they kept going under) and no doctor would even accept that insurance. I kept it so I didn't have to pay the fine of 700 dollars at the end of the year but it was a total scam. I tried even a 100 mile radius from my town and all they would say is "we are no longer accepting that insurance". I wound up going to walk in clinics for the flu which I usually get once a year around Feb.
Anyway thank you for the warm welcome. I'm really glad to find Christians to connect to :)

Haha yes I always say the next year age starting around Nov or Dec when I'm busy with everything and don't have time to dwell on it ....so that when it actually happens in Feb it's not such a shock. lol
I know that's dumb but I do it every year. Right now I already say I'm 56 :p When Feb comes and I'm 56 it's just another day cause I'm already 56 in my mind. The secret to aging gracefully...?? haha!

There are quite a few members that have gone through a divorce so please know that you're not alone in this regard. It is a good thing to pray with people in your ministry with the Crisis Center. Glad to have you as a member of our community. Welcome to CC.

Well the divorce was 16 years ago so not really even a factor. But I do get lonely sometimes .. I think that's normal for everyone living alone.
One of the things I really love about the Crisis Center is I can be feeling down about something and somebody calls with REAL problems and it snaps me back to the reality that I am extremely blessed and grateful. Staying genuinely grateful for what you have is key to contentment. Anyway thank you for welcoming me. I appreciate it and I'm so glad to find this group. God bless you :) Happy New Year!

Lol, I did the same thing by accident last year (senior moments have begun :)) and when my birthday arrived, I just added another year. I went most of the year thinking I was already 56. It wasn't until I had an appointment with my cardiologist, who had to correct me and tell me I was just 55.
I commended him as he had just proven to be a really good heart Dr because he just gave me another year of my life back in that one visit. Lol..

AMEN! I tried to post a pic of my dogs but it says the file is too big.
If you use postimages.org, you can resize your file down to 640 pixels before uploading, and then use the direct link to post here :)
