Israel is God’s elect nation, yet they are enemies of the gospel.

Name it and claim it if you want.
Some of the Jews of Israel reject the gospel of Jesus, but the Israel in this scripture has reference to Jacob, whose name is Israel (Gen 33:28). Keeping it in context, read Jeremiah 29:1 where he is directing his message to the elders, priests and prophets, which are not the Jews that are enemies to the gospel.

1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus: (Paul is talking to saved believers.)
2 Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us (the already saved believers) with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: (not salvation, but spiritual blessings, unseen at the present time)
4 According as he hath chosen us in him (not to be in Him) before the foundation of the world, (these spiritual blessings are in accord to what was chosen to give those in Christ)that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: (one day, this spiritual blessing will occur)
5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children (Romans 8:23 defines the adoption as the future redemption of our bodies) by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. (One has to get in Christ to be accepted. Paul goes on to explain in later verses how this is accomplished. Hear the gospel, believe, and sealed for this future day of redemption. It’s the guarantee of those spiritual blessings.)
God's adoption process is the same pattern we use in our adoptions today; God chose his children, Eph 1. Notice; God choose, not the children choose. Jesus then paid the legal fees on the cross. And the last phase of the adoption is when God takes his children home, at the last day. Our adoption process is the same way; We, through the adoption agency, choose (not the child choosing) and then we accomplish the legal work including the fee and the last phase is bringing the child home.

The inspired words of God were not written to the natural man that cannot discern the things of the Spirit, 1 Cor 2:14, but were written to his born again children who have been given the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, Eph 2, and are able to discern the things of the Spirit, as instructions as to how he wants them to live their lives as they sojourn here on earth. It does not tell them how to get saved eternally, but informs them that they are already saved eternally.

God has chosen the way to become an adopted son and that’s through faith His Son Jesus Christ. God chooses those in His Son.

In Romans 11:26 where it says that "all Israel shall be saved" it does not mean all of the nation of Israel, but Jacob/Israel. The Gentiles were enemies for Jacob/Israel's sakes; but as touching the election, they are beloved for the Fathers' sakes.

God choose his people out of those that, he saw by his foreknowledge, which were altogether become filthy and did not understand and that did not seek God, Psalms 53:2-3. That is why he had his Son to die on the cross to clean them up and make them holy and without blame.

Strong's concordance says that the Greek for chosen = to select. Are you saying that select does not mean elect?
Chosen to receive spiritual blessings not chosen to salvation. Strong definition is not definitive actually but God's word is God's word. Get away with your one man opinion my friend.

2 Tactics so far used by Calvinism.

1. Change the word. A very subtle way to promote this teaching.
2. Cherry pick verses. Most often they cite verses but rarely quote them. If they do, but not in context.

Prime example is the phrase, “According as He hath chosen us in him...” They read it as, “he chose us to be in Him...”.

They miss the meaning of the word “according.” That’s a key word in the passage. It links what follows to what was previously was stated. The spiritual blessings were chosen before the foundation of the world to be given to those in Christ. Christ is the location where one receives spiritual blessings in the heavenly places.

Child Timothy is an exception. He was not yet saved until he was saved through faith in Jesus Christ through the preaching of Apostle Paul and Paul would claim Timothy as his 'beloved son' 2 Timothy 2:2 or as Paul address him as his own son in the faith. 1 Timothy 1:2. Perhaps, you need to understand 1 Cor. 14 in it's context, by comparing spiritual things with spiritual.:)

2 Timothy 3:15 King James Version (KJV)
15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Amen brother! this is what I am seeing mostly when conversing with calvinism. They change the word.

You are exactly right. God chose a certain people, Eph 1, who were filthy and did not seek him to be placed in Christ and Christ in them and that is accomplished for those he chose as explained in Eph 2, while they were still dead spiritually he quickened them with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, without any spiritual accepting on the part of the spiritually dead person.

Again, you’re reading the passage all wrong, through the eyes of Calvin. God didn’t choose anyone to be in Christ, He chose Christ!

One of the key words in Eph 1 is the word "US". Paul includes himself and the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus. God chose some people out of a people that he saw by his foreknowledge that would not seek him. Psalms 53:2-3 and 1 Cor 2:14. They were not faithful in Christ Jesus until he regenerated them when they were still dead, spiritually, in sins, and not seeking him, Eph 2. The same "US" in verse 5 says he predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will. Is all mankind God's adopted children?

If he chose Christ, Why does he, in verse 4, use the word "chosen US" (plural)? The "US" that he chose was Paul and and the saints that be at Ephesus, and the faithful in Christ Jesus. They were chosen to be in Christ Jesus. That does not sound like he chose Christ, if you interpret the scripture right. God put them in Christ in the new birth. They were not in Christ before the new birth.

Why are you assuming that Timothy was not born again in his youth? The natural man cannot compare spiritual things with spiritual until he has the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in the new birth. He thinks spiritual things are foolishness. All scriptures must harmonize.

Spiritual faith is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. The natural man only has faith in man. He does not obtain spiritual faith until he has been born again and been given the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

Then again my friend, you used "youth' when the fact is child as put in the scriptures. You change the 'word' my friend...
