Turn This Devil Away

I don't even know You
Yet I hear You speak my name
Saying I was thought of
Long before I came

Sunny days or dark
I find shadows on my heart
A feeling pulls me down
Is this what life’s about?

No one knows the burden
This silent pain I bear
Searching for a place to hide
But I find there’s none

I never say Your name in praise
Or hold my hands up high
I don’t even know You
Is this the reason I cry?

If I want to know You
Will You walk along with me
And help me find the courage
To turn this devil away?
