I know you mean well, but I can't even bring myself to comment on that one.
We are supposedly going to do something as serious as praying for someone, and we can't even take the time to type out a few words to reassure them their request is being addressed?
Makes you wonder what the "prayer" would sound like.

I do understand what you are saying , but sometimes people cannot even write down something to someone else , not everyone is verble all the time , so a little prayer symbol can say a lot more than saying nothing.

I know several people on the site have also expressed that they believe they shouldn't reveal when they are doing something for someone else in accordance with Matthew 6:3, because they have said that announcing a good deed in public will cause one to lose their heavenly reward.
I have to admit to wanting also wanting emoji in the past, but am now on the fence because I find myself agreeing with both points of view.
Avisanct, I don't know if this will help, but since we don't have a prayer emoji, when I read a prayer request or even just a post I find myself praying over, I tend to use the heart emoji to at least let the person know that someone read what they shared and is thinking of them.

I think it’s important to let people know you are praying for them, even letting them know the exact prayer so that they can come in agreement with it. This is not self-righteous, this is an encouragement to the person and allows them to pray in faith, and expect from the Lord.
Announcing that you are praying as a Christian, is like announcing that you are wet after jumping into a pool of water. Of course you are, we shouldn’t expect less of any of us. So sharing that you are interceding for someone’s request is for them, not you.
It again encourages them that people are praying on their behalf, petitioning the Lord for them, and this may just encourage them enough to believe for God’s deliverance, healing, or providence.
So, don't "say nothing". Did anyone here become a Christian by saying nothing.... just because they weren't vocal people?
I always ask a person if it would be okay with them that I pray for them. My priest first did this with me and it always stuck by me as being very respectful and the right thing to do.
My wife's workout at the "Y" lasts a little longer than mine, and I sit and wait for her in the lobby. Sitting there, I have prayed for countless people that have no idea I am even sitting there, let alone, praying for them. Jesus did that a lot.
I wouldn’t say such is the case all the time. For example, when giving alms or money to someone, you don’t first ask them to give them the money, you simply give it. Whether they accept it, or reject it is on them.
Likewise, prayer can be offered freely without consent. We are praying blessings over someone, goodness and mercy. Asking the Lord to show them His goodness. We may even be praying the perfect will of God over their life, for their eyes to be opened to His plans or righteousness (in their life).
This is done in secret, between you and the Lord. You don’t need them to know you are making these prayers but are keeping watch to see if such prayers are making an impact in their life positively. It is an act of love, and dedication.
I mean a prayer symbol can say more then scrolling past and saying nothing...
Like I said , not everyone at ALL times can type the prayer they want to pray , sometimes a heart or prayer symbol is letting the person know they have been acknowledged , and the person who cannot always type out the prayer speaks the prayer for that person to God...
Many people pray for each other from their heart to God , and that person will never know...
I'm talking about someone I know and am having a conversation with for example an acquaintance who was recovering from surgery. I asked him if it would be alright if I kept him in my prayers. He appreciated that. I silently give prayers to passerbys all the time.
Gotcha. Nice, yeah it is supportive and encouraging. They don’t feel alone and isolated.
I'm pretty sure I never mentioned anything about typing out a prayer. In fact, I think doing that is a little silly. If you want to tell them what you prayed, verbatim, maybe you might PM them.

I always found that term funny. In my own perception, the glory goes to God. He is the mighty one. Surely they might get their due, having spent time interceding but ultimately it is the Lord who gets the glory. I wonder if people will be rewarded in heaven for the prayers they made?
Most definitely.
(At least I assume... Won't really know until we get there, I guess.)I just say "compassionate" because I believe it is God who puts it on our heart (and gives us the insight, burden, compassion) to pray for others to begin with.
So just type in 'prayed'. Typing something doesn't have to be a big, long thing. One word is all it takes.
