Romans 8:2
King James Bible
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
BSB 2For in Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life has set you free from the law of sin and death. 3For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful man, as an offering for sin. He thus condemned sin in the flesh,…

Galatians 5:4 4You who are trying to be justified by the Law have been severed from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.

FYI; I have read the whole Bible, more than once, and the New Testament (New Covenant) many times. I have worked in suicide prevention, substance abuse and crisis intervention ministries. As well as the Trinity Broadcasting telephone bank. Here's part of my resume'> Melodyland Christian Center/Hotline Help Center, Salvation Army, Day Resource and homeless Center, Set Free Prison Ministries, and the Substance Abuse Foundation.

Jesus saves!

A good friend once told me "Nobody kills their own wounded like Christians" and I think this applies here. CF conducts themselves and are known as a Christian founded organization. They're known for never opening on a Sunday. They are number 3 in the USA because of brilliant, polite, and quick service and pretty decent food. They're a restaurant for heaven's sake. I don't look to them for theology; I just think they have decent values as a company.

I feel like our windows are getting pretty small here. That if an institution doesn't act in the same exact way I would, I must rebel and yell heresy, heresy! and boycott them and damage them. They must pay for my leniency of eating there.

I am not going to try to hurt them. I'll keep eating there on the occasion I eat there. I really think they're making the best decisions they can in this very very complex world. And I'm convinced they made this decision through prayer and reflection. There also may be very valid reasons unknown to me that they chose to do what they do. I'm not ready to kill them after the kind of warrior they've been all these years.
I think what is leading this thread astray are is the adversarial spirit that makes out that Christians are influenced by the Devil, and CF has every right to do business as it pleases.

Yes, CF has every right to do business as it pleases. However, when in the course of doing business with the American public, they also publicized their Christian values first by closing on Sunday, and then during the SCOTUS gay marriage debate, the founder announced their family policy as business owners is, one man one woman marriage.
Particularly when Christian businesses in other parts of the country were, and continue to be, assailed by radical anti-Christian (Christophobe) LGBTQ terrorists, who vandalize a Christian business that upholds its Christian values, make death threats toward the owner(s), and staff, make protest fronts and harass the public that patronizes those businesses that the LGBTQ intolerant front are attacking, with the intent of putting them out of business.

No one asked CF its stand about marriage years ago. CF's founder volunteered the information to the media. And this was many years after 2012.
Now, with LGBTQ's continued assault on the CF franchises in various areas, even in England going so far as to force the newly opened CF to close, CF honors its plans announced in 2012. After continuing for six more years unto 2018 to donate to those Christian charities they promised to abandon in the years to come.

And in 2019, a year after the contracts with Christian charities expired, alerted media again that they were no longer going to fund three Christian charities. And why? Due to the pressure, harassment, meted out by radical intolerant Christophobe members of the LGBTQ community.

Because their anthem is, Christian values are not to be tolerated.
(Because they remind us we're unrepentant sinners)

And now, Christians who are shocked, appalled, and broken hearted, that gangs of LGBTQ sinners terrorism campaign against one restaurant has succeeded in stopping countless monies going to Christian charities, LGBTQ activists think we're out of line for that.

How does it escape our attention? When Chick-Fil-A announced this decision, they actually announced that their corporation is no longer grounded in Christian principles.

Because the Bible is anti-gay marriage. When CF made their announcement and their COO said they were not going to donate to charities that were anti-gay marriage, they apparently forgot that.

And Christians have a right to feel a certain way about this. Especially when we know well enough many Christians started patronizing CF because they made news supporting Godly marriage.

Sinner saved by grace

The Salvation Army started as a fundamentalist Christian outreach ministry the London slums 125 years ago. They discriminated against no one who was willing to accept Jesus and repent of their worldly ways. The pledge to become a Soldier follows:

Soldier's Covenant

(Promises made when becoming a soldier in The Salvation Army. Formerly called 'Articles of War'.)

HAVING accepted Jesus Christ as my Saviour and Lord, and desiring to fulfil my membership of His Church on earth as a soldier of The Salvation Army, I now by God’s grace enter into a sacred covenant.

I believe and will live by the truths of the word of God expressed in The Salvation Army’s eleven articles of faith:

We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments were given by inspiration of God: and that they only constitute the Divine rule of Christian faith and practice.

We believe that there is only one God, who is infinitely perfect, the Creator. Preserver, and Governor of all things, and who is the only proper object of religious worship.

We believe that there are three persons in the Godhead—the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost—undivided in essence and coequal in power and glory.

We believe that in the person of Jesus Christ the Divine and human natures are united, so that He is truly and properly God and truly and properly man.

We believe that our first parents were created in a state of innocency. but by their disobedience they lost their purity and happiness; and that in consequence of their fall all men have become sinners, totally depraved. and as such are justly exposed to the wrath of God.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has, by His suffering and death, made an atonement for the whole world so that whosoever will may be saved.

We believe that repentance towards God, faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and regeneration by the Holy Spirit are necessary to salvation.

We believe that we are justified by grace, through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ; and that he that believeth hath the witness in himself.

We believe that continuance in a state of salvation depends upon continued obedient faith in Christ.

We believe that it is the privilege of all believers to be wholly sanctified, and that their whole spirit and soul and body may be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe in the immortality of the soul; in the resurrection of the body; in the general judgment at the end of the world; in the eternal happiness of the righteous; and in the endless punishment of the wicked.

THEREFORE

I will be responsive to the Holy Spirit’s work and obedient to His leading in my life, growing in grace through worship, prayer, service and the reading of the Bible.

I will make the values of the Kingdom of God and not the values of the world the standard for my life.

I will uphold Christian integrity in every area of my life, allowing nothing in thought. word or deed that is unworthy, unclean, untrue, profane, dishonest or immoral.

I will maintain Christian ideals in all my relationships with others: my family and neighbours, my colleagues and fellow Salvationists, those to whom and for whom I am responsible, and the wider community.

I will uphold the sanctity of marriage and of family life.

I will be a faithful steward of my time and gifts, my money and possessions, my body, my mind and my spirit, knowing that I am accountable to God.

I will abstain from alcoholic drink. tobacco, the non-medical use of addictive drugs. gambling, pornography, the occult, and all else that could enslave the body or spirit.

I will be faithful to the purposes for which God raised up The Salvation Army, sharing the good news of Jesus Christ, endeavouring to win others to Him, and in His name caring for the needy and the disadvantaged.

I will be actively involved, as l am able, in the life, work, worship and witness of the corps, giving as large a proportion of my income as possible to support its ministries and the worldwide work of the Army.

I will be true to the principles and practices of The Salvation Army, loyal to its leaders, and I will show the spirit of Salvationism whether in times of popularity or persecution.

I now call upon all present to witness that I enter into this covenant and sign these articles of war of my own free will, convinced that the love of Christ, who died and now lives to save me, requires from me this devotion of my life to His service for the salvation of the whole world; and therefore do here declare my full determination, by God’s help, to be a true soldier of The Salvation Army.

Try it again. LOL
You got in so much of a hurry to somehow put me down, that I don't think you even took time to look at what you typed. LOL
No need to repeat myself, I was crystal clear the first time. Trying to turn it around doesn't leave you off the hook for your own words in your post #154, when you actually criticized yourself first.
No contrition then?

From the horse's mouth.

https://www.chick-fil-afoundation.org/

It seems to me that CF has decided to choose the avenue of community service rather than issue advocacy. They are, IMHO, on a much better path, and a path that Christ approves of. I know I do.
Do you think Christ approved of their monies going to the other three Christian charities they've now abandoned?

The Lesson From Chick-Fil-A’s Appeasement
by Dr Michael Hurd | Nov 19, 2019

Chick-Fil-A recently tried to appease left-wing groups through a press release promising not to donate to organizations that offend LGBT pressure groups.

Predictably, the LGBT groups have responded by saying, “Not enough”.

Why does appeasement never work? Because it’s based on a faulty premise. The premise is that your opponents are reasonable — and that they care about the things they claim to care about.

LGBT groups do not care about gay or lesbian individuals. They only care about their own power. They reserve their greatest hostility, in fact, toward gay or lesbian individuals who question some or any of their policies, or who support candidates they despise, such as President Donald Trump.

These groups claim to despise homophobia and irrational discrimination, and possibly they do. But they hate two things much more: individualism and independence. These are the things they will never tolerate. It explains why they’re left-wingers, socialists, and Communists. It’s all about the group, and it’s all about control.

LGBT groups are not about individual rights for gays. They’re not about private property rights for gays — because they’re not about private property rights. How could they be? They’re not for the individual rights of Chick-Fil-A to give to whomever it pleases Christian or otherwise. So how could they possibly uphold the individual, private property, free speech and freedom of association rights of gay or lesbian individuals?

Left-wing activist groups are about power. And this means the preservation of a status quo where they enjoy almost unlimited power, i.e. The Swamp of Washington D.C.

When successful companies like Chick-Fil-A kowtow and bow their heads, pleading for mercy from power-hungry left-wing pressure groups, all they do is reinforce the attitude of those left-wing groups they hope to bring to some kind of elusive moderaton.

Appeasement doesn’t work. People are obviously free not to buy Chick-Fil-A products if anything about the company — its food, or its politics — bothers them. All individuals retain that right. Taxpayers are not forced to pay for subsidies to Chick-Fil-A, and nobody is making anyone buy their chicken sandwiches. The overwhelming majority of corporations in America are (at least publicly) socialist and left-wing, despite their success on the free market making a profit at delivering excellent goods or services.

None of this is enough for the unhealthy and angst-ridden people who run these left-wing groups. You have to comprehend the kind of mentality that would make his or her career being a professional gay or lesbian person. Not a virtuous, successful person who happens to be gay … but a professional gay person. The very premise is ridiculous. So, of course, their policies make no sense. And of course, you can never appease them. They’re not out for justice, rationally defined. They’re out for revenge — usually because of unhealthy or unfulfilled, unmet needs in their own personal lives.

Stop appeasing leftists. They are not your friends. They are not anybody’s friends — unless a totalitarian state run by inherently nasty, freedom-hating people is something you consider friendly.

That video.

You think I criticized myself in the following post? How?

(Post #154) Frankly, I feel no one has any right to criticize CFA unless they have done at least as much as that company has. And most people haven't even done one ten-millionth as much as they have.

The Paul Anderson Youth Home, is the only group worthy of donations, so if you are so grieved by chick filet stopping their donations, you have wallets and as a collective can probably give more than the company was giving anyway.
I like this part :)

:giggle: If there was that would be one heck of a surname to 'splain.

Wow, and there's even a video that tells those who care to watch it, that Salvation Army loves everyone, and is not anti-anyone. That means that anyone who thinks any of the charities CF donated to were anti-gay just haven't been paying attention. That's too bad.
And with all the resources available on a Christian forum, one would think that if the SCOTUS decision didn't catch someones attention, then at the very least common sense would make an appearance; Corporations are run by people.

And as such, Christians know that it is the souls of people who stand before the judgment.
I love when threads are educational. Though it is always sad to learn that even in threads , like schools around the world, there are the dropouts who think learning is over rated.
That's too bad. :( Maybe they should smoke less and work at being sober more.
Yes, those individuals, as well as you, me, and everyone else will have to face judgment one day. They are no different than anyone else.

I don't really want to let you off the hook though... You said, "What will Chick Fil A say at the judgment seat? When they abandoned supporting charities that serve the needy , as God told us to do, because they couldn't hack the attack of the enemy?" Is this not an implication that they are no longer serving the needy? Are they no longer doing as "God told us to do" because they are donating to other charities? Does it only count as doing God's work if you donate to charities that feed people AND explicitly state they are anti-LGBTQ? Why are their donations invalid?

And caprice. Don't forget caprice.
Caprice on behalf of the Christians who cheered them when the COO stated he was for traditional marriage? To my knowledge, for the last 7+ years, CFA has announced they were planning to stop donating to anti-LGBTQ charities. They just waited until their agreement was fulfilled. They are actually a class-act (with subpar food... as I said, I want beef in my burger!).

That depends on what the charities spend their money on. I think that He is much happier seeing the needs of the people being addressed.
