Frankly, I feel no one has any right to criticize CFA unless they have done at least as much as that company has. And most people haven't even done one ten-millionth as much as they have.
Whatever shall you do then with all those posts in this thread where you criticize CF and side with the LGBTQ , while condemning Christians for being upset that CF has renounced their Christian values concerning gay marriage?

Cal,
and your 'point is'???
:):)
That I'm not a newbie. That I've read the Bible and realize that the New Testament is an amendment to the Old, and The loving Grace of Christ over rules the laws of sin and death as well as the curse of the law. That we were bought for a price by Jesus. That's why he is the Lord either he owns us or we are lost to the curse of sin and death.

A good friend once told me "Nobody kills their own wounded like Christians" and I think this applies here. CF conducts themselves and are known as a Christian founded organization. They're known for never opening on a Sunday. They are number 3 in the USA because of brilliant, polite, and quick service and pretty decent food. They're a restaurant for heaven's sake. I don't look to them for theology; I just think they have decent values as a company.

I feel like our windows are getting pretty small here. That if an institution doesn't act in the same exact way I would, I must rebel and yell heresy, heresy! and boycott them and damage them. They must pay for my leniency of eating there.

I am not going to try to hurt them. I'll keep eating there on the occasion I eat there. I really think they're making the best decisions they can in this very very complex world. And I'm convinced they made this decision through prayer and reflection. There also may be very valid reasons unknown to me that they chose to do what they do. I'm not ready to kill them after the kind of warrior they've been all these years.

Cal,
you are so very precious, but you have to have witnessed by this time in your life, that no matter what,
we STILL REAP what we SOW!!! this is a part of our growing process and our Loving Lord teaching us
what He requires of us - when we 'obey Him', He rewards us with His Loving gifts of peace, comfort,
assurance, fearlessness, - we no longer 'need the world' to sustain us, we are able to stand upright
along side Him, apart from this wicked world...

AMEN! Jesus is Lord means more than he is God it also means he is master and that we belong to him if he rebukes or chastises us we should be grateful and return to obedience. His Grace is not to be taken lightly. Hypergrace is nonsence. This is the 3rd step prayer. It is to remind us to keep God in charge of our lives and to stop letting our own self will run riot.>

2 Timothy 2:19 19Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: "The LORD knows those who are his," and, "Everyone who confesses the name of the LORD must turn away from wickedness.

My two cents;
You can't placate these terrorists. If you seek a reprieve from their constant barrage of harassment, you will not get it by yielding.
My advice is to push back hard, and enjoy the success. There is no Chick filet that is not over run by customers, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

As for the charities that will lose donations because this move; only one is worth it's salt.
The Salvation Army, eats up the vast majority of donations paying executive salaries. Only a small percentage goes to help folks in need.
As for The Fellowship of Christian Athletes, well, I can't figure out what they need donations for. This is just what Christian coaches should be doing anyway, and shouldn't need out side money to do it.
The Paul Anderson Youth Home, is the only group worthy of donations, so if you are so grieved by chick filet stopping their donations, you have wallets and as a collective can probably give more than the company was giving anyway.

As a former member of the Salvation Army and a huge fan of general Booth it's #1 missionary and co-founder. I have felt for over a decade that when they made the turn to the second hand store business and more over, started taking US Government and United Way assistance . They had to lower their standards and they lost their compass.

They can no longer require beneficiaries to attend church service or take the adherent pledge against alcohol, drugs, porn, gambling, prostitution or homosexuality. The love of money has derailed their former mission which was to help the homeless, down and out, ex-convicts, children addicts and prostitutes via faith in Christ, abstinence and good, old fashioned, hard work. in other words they partially sold out. They still operate Churches and are still a Major Christian denomination but that's the Corps Church (as in Marine Corps) but the other core is making money I am sorry to say, but I feel it's true.

You would think that CFA stopped donating to their Christian charities and instead started donating to "Sex Changes for Kids" charities based off the reaction of some people here.

The fact that the new charities don't have "Christian" in their name or even make public they are anti-gay doesn't mean that CFA "lost their values."

Proverbs 19:17 “Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done.”
Proverbs 22:9 “The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor.”

I guess it doesn't count as "biblical values"/"Christian values" UNLESS you're donating to charities that explicitly state they are against gay marriage/homosexuality?

By the way, I'm defending a restaurant I don't even like. I ate at a CFA for the first time when they were under attack by ignorant people who were upset that the COO was for traditional marriage only. Now I might go eat a chicken sandwich because more ignorant people from the opposite political aisle are acting a little too entitled. "I'm for traditional burgers"... you know, with beef! I'd rather have a WhatABurger, but I'll do my part. :(

From the horse's mouth.

https://www.chick-fil-afoundation.org/

It seems to me that CF has decided to choose the avenue of community service rather than issue advocacy. They are, IMHO, on a much better path, and a path that Christ approves of. I know I do.

No, you just need to stay as you are. Strong in your faith, ready for the slings and arrows that shall not penetrate those wearing the armor of God. :)

Been there. Never wavered.

Judge away? This thread was started as an invitation to judge. And we are to do so, using righteous judgement, not judging on appearances, but using righteous judgment.
What will Chick Fil A say at the judgment seat? When they abandoned supporting charities that serve the needy , as God told us to do, because they couldn't hack the attack of the enemy? That which roams the earth seeking souls to devour.
How interesting that the one he devoured this go round is a restaurant chain.
You do realize that there isn't a person called "Chick-fil-A" right? As such, "Chick-fil-A" isn't going to be on any judgment seat... And that the non-existent soul that is "Chick-fil-A" is rather a corporation comprised of multiple people with varying personal beliefs, right? You're also aware that the Cathys have said they still believe in traditional marriage? You also realize Chick-fil-A has set aside $9,000,000 for charities in 2020 that aim to take care of 3 areas: promoting youth education, combating youth homelessness, and fighting hunger.... ??? You realize that they are doing God's work by continuing to give, especially when they don't have to? Are you aware that Chick-fil-A has said it will be open to donating to faith and non-faith based charities in the future? Did you even read any of the news or just that they stopped donating to charities that were anti-gay marriage?

A lot of people blasting CFA have praised Salvation Army IN THIS THREAD. Maybe it's just one of those double-standards?
Unless they have heard about this? I don’t know. But I see a lot of capitulation going on. :(

Three words: Post the articles.
What's funny is, I can post an article from 2012 which shows Chick-fil-A promising to stop making their donations to anti-LGBTQ charities.

https://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-mo-chickfila-gay-moreno-20120919-story.html

Now they are attacked because they are honoring their promise and wanting to separate their personal ideology/politics/faith from the franchise. The Cathys explicity stated they don't regret They don't want to be part of the messy political discussion... they want to sell chicken sandwiches! Do people go to Chick-fil-A for morality lessons or to eat?

Cathy, “Consumers want to do business with brands that they can interface with, that they can relate with,” Cathy said. “And it’s probably very wise from our standpoint to make sure that we present our brand in a compelling way that the consumer can relate to.”

:giggle: If there was that would be one heck of a surname to 'splain.

Wow, and there's even a video that tells those who care to watch it, that Salvation Army loves everyone, and is not anti-anyone. That means that anyone who thinks any of the charities CF donated to were anti-gay just haven't been paying attention. That's too bad.
And with all the resources available on a Christian forum, one would think that if the SCOTUS decision didn't catch someones attention, then at the very least common sense would make an appearance; Corporations are run by people.

And as such, Christians know that it is the souls of people who stand before the judgment.
I love when threads are educational. Though it is always sad to learn that even in threads , like schools around the world, there are the dropouts who think learning is over rated.
That's too bad. :( Maybe they should smoke less and work at being sober more.
