This is a song from 1975..

I was in a really dark place in regard to my life one day when this song came on the radio.. It was saying a lot of the things i was thinking and it ended up being a kind of prayer to God.. I had brought in a load of dry washing and was in the process of folding them all when at the end of the song i folded up an old beach towel and placed it on the top of the pile.. Just then i noticed what what written on the top of the folded up towel and it changed my mindset instantly.. It said I love you with a Heart as the love word.. It really fortified my hope for a better future..

Hey! I used to play this piece of music on the piano some 30 years ago and the harmony was almost the same as yours.

It would be nice if more members could sing (or play) the 60's/70's songs they like and post them here.
Well, it still needs work. I would like to print out the sheet music and keep working on it. I love this moving song, but guitar is my instrument these da

Very nice song! I don't remember it.
I think it was more popular in England and a number of commonwealth countries like mine, Australia. For what ever reason some popular performers who have success in one or a number of countries never got airplay in other countries..

You can never get too much heaven

Bee Gees - Too Much Heaven..

On the surface this song is just a standard love song.. But a lot of the symbolism they use is,, well Christian..

Oh Happy Day by The Edwin Hawkins Singers, 1969

Oh happy day (oh happy day)
Oh happy day (oh happy day)
When Jesus washed (when Jesus washed)
When Jesus washed (when Jesus washed)
When Jesus washed (when Jesus washed)
He washed my sins away (oh happy day)
Oh happy day (oh happy day)
He taught me how to watch, fight and pray, fight and pray
And live rejoicing every, everyday
Oh happy day
He taught me how
Oh happy day (oh happy day)
Oh happy day (oh happy day)
Oh happy day (oh happy day)

My favorite song by the Carpenters. :)

One of my favorite scenes from the movie, "Tommy Boy" involved this song. :giggle:
