Rom 6:23 the wage (cost/price) for sin is death.

The 1st animal sacrifice for sin happen in the garden of Eden. Where Adam & Eve CHOOSE to SIN/transgress heavenly law. Their sin/transgression had to be paid for.

God could execute sins MUST/JUST penalty "DEATH" onto them. He choose to make atonement/PAY SINS WAGE of BLOOD & DEATH via an animal sacrifice.

Gen 3:21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
(NOTE: Animals died to cover/clothe/pay sins MUST/JUST pentley "DEATH")

Animal sacrifices (innocent dying in place guilty) contuinue for millenia. Until the ultimate "Once & For All" inoncent sinless sacrifice is offered. The Eternal Son of God, Jesus the Christ offers Himself & pays for Adams caused crisis!

BTW, animal sacrifices only covered & couldn't remove sin.

Cain & Abel
Gen 4:4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:

Noah
Gen 8:20 And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

Abraham
Gen 22:13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.

Covenant at Sinai
And there were many animal sacrifices (millions?) offered for sin under the Covenant of Sinai. Until the ultimate "Once & For All" innocent sinless sacrifice is offered, the Eternal Son of God, Jesus the Christ! Christ's willful, sinless sin offering, when appropriated/seized, doesn't only cover, it TAKES AWAY/REMOVES sin:

John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, "which taketh away the sin of the world".

Rev 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and "washed us from our sins in his own blood",

Scripture say's we ALL have sinned. Romans 3:23 for "all" have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Therefore, we need to pay-up or get under Christ's sin payment. Scripture teaches how to do this:

Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Amen & MOO!
SACRIFICE, ANIMALS & ULTIMATE PAYMENT

Animal down-sin-payments & the ultimate sin payments application

Leviticus 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.
(NOTE: The atonement is made by the payment & sprinkling of innocent blood. Whereby paying sins demanded/required wage = DEATH)

Thankfully God allows our sin demanded/required wage (DEATH) to be paid by/imputed onto another.

The once a year, Day of Atonement, sin sacrifices. Only "COVERED" sin & only for one year.

Lev 16:9 And Aaron shall bring the goat upon which the LORD'S lot fell, and offer him for a sin offering.
(NOTE: One goat is killed for a sin offering)

21 And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness:
(NOTE: Once per yr & only the High Priest could: Confess ALL of Israel's, transgressions/sins, and visibly placing them onto the head of the wilderness sacrifice. The people could SEE their sins being carried away)

BTW: Anyone could bring a sin offering to the Temple. The Priest would inspect the animal for blemishes (he knew why you were there & didn't ask you what you've done) you then placed your hands firmly on the sacrifices head, confessed your sin to God, imputing/transfering your sins onto the sacrifice, took the knife & killed the offering!

Unlike the 1 yr limited sin covering blood of bulls & goats (Heb 9:13-15, 4:4-10). Jesus sin sacrifice PAID for & finally REMOVED all those OT sacrificed sins, as well as all future sin, when appropriated/seized. Via anyone that applies his redemptive sin payment/atonement thru faith.

At the 1st Passover the people had to (by faith) apply the blood of the sacrifice on the doorposts. By faith the people applied the sacrifices blood onto a doorpost & then walked/got under it. And by doing so, were protected from the judgment given to angel of death.

Christ is our Passover/sacrifice. We are to acknowledge our sin before the Father. Place our faith in Christ's sin atoning sacrifice. Found in his death (sins required wage, PAID), his burial (proof he died) & his resurrection (the Father's receipt, payment received & accepted)

Our faith confession & belief in God. Puts us under, applies/sprinkles, his blood on to us & our sin judgment due, DEATH, passes us by. Same way placing blood onto the doorposts & getting under it did saved the people at the 1st Passover)

Christ then rewards our faith: Eze 16:8 & Ruth 3:9 by spreading his skirt/TALITH over us & forever covering our sinful nakedness.
(NOTE: Boaz the Kinsman redeemer (A shadow of Christ) bought Naomi' s debt & took Ruth (a gentile) for His bride)

Sin is a big deal & carries a big MUST BE PAID price.
Amen! And once, and for all, Christ paid the price on the cross.
That whosoever believes in Him shall not perish of their sins, but shall have immortal life.
Thank you, Jesus!
