Nothing will separate you from God

I've seen this kind of language used for those of you who were saved. Will nothing separate you from God? Surely sin separates you from God. And we all sin daily.
it must be a secure and safe feeling to feel "saved." I sometimes envy you. But then part of me thinks it is better to feel insecure and unsure of my destiny with God. Keeps me on my toes.

The Book of Colossians 1: 12 giving thanks unto the Father, who made [j]us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light; 13 who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of his love; 14 in whom we have our redemption, the forgiveness of our sins: 15 who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; 16 for in him were all things created, in the heavens and upon the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things have been created through him, and unto him; 17 and he is before all things, and in him all things [k]consist.

Remain on your toes MFR, don't mistake the offer or promise, for the conclusion. Where your convictions stand on your death bed, is where the conclusion lies, Whisper quoted only the offer. God has promised eternal salvation to those who repent and bow down to Christ Jesus as Lord & Saviour, i.e. forgiveness is conditional. If forgiveness is contingent upon one, first, hearing the Word, then understanding what was preached (depending on the evangel who explained the good news), and then accepting the Gospel of Christ, then one's procurement of their salvation is only as solidified as far as their understanding and convictions go. 'some seeds fell by the shallow ground, took root for a moment (accepted it at the time), then fell away'. Can one say 'yes' to Christ today, then tomorrow deny him and remain saved, ...how does that work?
This is why we never let our guard down, we study often to resist falling away, which the devil will not relent.
Don't mistake the promise for the status, God promises to protect you and to not let you be stolen from his hands, but that just means that he's on our side working for us, it does not mean that we can sleight or defy him and that he won't let us go. It means if we try, he will protect us, and that we can rely on him in times of our trouble, persecution and doubt, ...but not our rejection, regardless of where we stood in the past.

It sounds to me like you need assurance...

1 John 5:12-13

He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.

You see we get hung up on if we are good enough or not because we do sin.... Understand this you have assurance that you are saved why? Because you first need to stop looking at yourself and look at Jesus and what He has done for you. You see when you come to Him repent and ask for forgiveness God cancels your debt of sin and now looks at the perfect life of His Son who is standing in your place this is called justification. Jesus perfect life covers your sin ridden filthy life. Now we abide in Jesus and keep walking with Him asking for the Holy Spirit to live in our life and help us to become more like Jesus and yes, we stumble and fall we ask for forgiveness and keep walking with Jesus and sanctification is a lifetime walk with God and we don't arrive until we are in heaven and sin and all wickedness is destroyed.

It's why it's called a walk and relationship with Jesus/God/Holy Spirit....

So stop worrying about if you are saved or not. God has done and given everything to save you He is not sitting on His throne in heaven just waiting for you to mess up so He can punish you. Keep your eyes on Jesus who is our perfect sacrifice He stands in our place so that we can stand with Him... You are saved don't ever doubt it...

John 5:24

For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

John 10:29

"My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand.

I am willing to be corrected but my understanding of the Scripture is that as long as you continue to truly believe salvation is guaranteed (and someone who truly believes will still sin but would not give their life over to sin because the Holy Spirit indwells). However if you stop believing then you were never really saved. If you stop believing then you won't care if you are saved - so if you care if you are still saved then you are.

PS: We are human and I am sure at one point or another we have doubted ourselves and God - I know I did for years feel as though I was not saved as I did not understand salvation. I found I had been looking at myself and I knew I wasn't good enough and that was my problem I was never going to be good enough. God showed me that it was Jesus I needed to keep my focus on because Jesus stood in my place before God. I was so relieved when I understood finally. I now Praise God for our savior Jesus.

Sin
What we do in the flesh has been referred to as sin but they are simply manifestation of sin which is in the spirit. Sin is a spirit.
When Jesus died on the cross, all men were justified; means sin was dealt with and the bible says He (Jesus) confined sin to the flesh (Rom 8:3) so that the spirit can be set free. But, if sin is perpetual in the flesh, then it will also affect the spirit.

Salvation/eternal life
Most are confusing God's promise for the real thing.

Heb 10:
36You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. 37For,
“In just a little while,he who is coming will come and will not delay.” f
38And,
“But my righteous g one will live by faith.
And I take no pleasure
in the one who shrinks back.” h
39But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.

You receive the promise of God after you have done the will of God and not when you are still doing the will of God.

The reason we have some verses that assure us of salvation as though it was already done is:

2 Cor 1:19For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was proclaimed among you by me and Silvanus and Timothy, was not “Yes” and “No,” but in Him it has always been “Yes.” 20For all the promises of God are “Yes” in Christ. And so through Him, our “Amen” is spoken to the glory of God.

Doesn't change, a promise is a promise and it is only a promise to those that persevere to the end and don't shrink back.

I believe you, as I believ e do, are working out your salvation with fear and trembling as we are taaught to do.

No? You haven't made a fool of yourself. I myself, think it's more beneficial for "spiritual maturity" to think as part of yourself thinks. Keeps one "pressing on to the High Calling of God, (that is) in Christ Jesus", as the Bible calls it.
Philippians 3
11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect (mature): but I follow after, if that I may apprehend (take eagerly/seize/possess) that for which also I am apprehended (taken eagerly/seized/possessed) of Christ Jesus.
13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

It's not that nothing can separate one from God. It's nothing can separate God's love for you.

Psalm s say God does not hold dthe guilt of our sin against us. I believe this applieds to all who believe Him...…...

What can separate us from the love of God? Uh, nothing, no creature and that includes ourselves.

Something more upon which t meditate some is the reality that God IS Love...wonderful, amen.

After we are born again, we never become unborn. When we commit a sin we lose our fellowship with god until we repent, because God will not fellowship with sin, but we never lose the security of our eternal inheritance. Christ paid for every sin that we will commit.

I used to live in fear, mistakenly believing God is a harsh, angry critic eagerly awaiting to impose severe discipline upon everyone, regardless of our faith in Jesus. Then one glorious day I read John 14 and my heart burst open with joy at the understanding and realization that God is loving, gracious and merciful.
