We are called to wish goodwill on everyone. Even our enemies. It is a terrible sin to wish that someone else suffers for example. But perhaps we are tempted to feel this towards someone who has "wronged" us. Forgiveness can be such a challenge. Someone who has really hurt us, we might want them to know what it is like to feel our pain snd humiliation. Im preaching to no one but myself. Thinking aloud as usual. 😁

I can truly say after suffering loss to vandalism in the thousands of dollars that I don't love those vandals like a brother. However, knowing they were young at the time, I figure what they've cost me is nothing compared to the court costs, fines, and years behind bars their behavior, if they don't change, will cost them once they reach adult age.

We only have to look at Jesus example. Got crucified but forgave those who didnt know what they were doing. And then when Paul was being mean to believers when he was Saul, Jesus confronted him. Why do you persecute me?

Then Paul was blinded and learned to suffer just as much as Jesus had suffered and the pain he was causing believers but his heart had changed. Jesus had a plan for him to spread the gospel. I think God does these amazing turn arounds when people repent.

Jail is also a place where people can learn to face up to the wrongs theyve done and get their life in order. So many testimonies of prisoners finding faith in prison. Its actually not a bad place, its the best place for them.

We have this program called the tag out trust to look after juveniles that are in trouble. They paint over and clean up the places they wrecked. If nobody took the time to do this they wouldnt have a chance. They acting out cos their parents are absent and dont care, usually.

It's hard to love when you hurt. And logic doesn't help at all because the part of you that hurts doesn't analyze, it just hurts.

After the initial hurt has died down a bit, it does help to remind yourself of what your goals are. The only things we can take with us are souls. Everything else is going to disintegrate eventually. We need to protect what is ours, but if we act to save stuff at the expense of souls, we are losing.

In the meantime, everything everybody does affects the atmosphere for everybody around him. They react to what is hurting them by hurting others, because that worked on them so it should work for them if they do it to other people. If we react the same way, that just pollutes the world more.

Yes. This can be really tough. If the situation is too intense and painful then it may not be possible immediately. Time has to pass until you can get enough space to provide a proper perspective. When I was younger my vicar said the best way was to pray for them.....it is difficult to maintain total hatred for someone you are holding up to God.

The gospel is utterly radical in how we are to treat each other. We sing the songs and nod politely when we talk about loving our enemies but it is revolutionary. You cannot teach your children to love their enemy while you trash talk your ex spouse, or let them hear you rant about your idiot boss, or your phone conversation complaining about others. We can barely manage kindness at times so love is something that can only happen when God is at the center of things. The truth is that it is not in our hearts to love our enemies. Loving someone who betrayed you, abandoned their children or lied about you is supernatural. Forgive us Lord for our failure to love. Give us your strength to be more than we could ever be without you. I ask that you grow something beautiful, something of you, in all of us.

I once hoped a football player would get his leg broken and it happened.

I once hoped an ex-girlfriend would have a car accident and it happened.

I once stated I hated someone’s presence in my life. He died four days later.

All of it true. I’m way done with such thoughts.

Pray for your boss, they may be stressed out. Actually one time i remember my formee boss said to me he would love to change places and not have to think about running the business and just mindlesslessy go to work each day and get told what to do.

Lol I would just give everyone the day off.
