Who rules? LOVE.

GOD is LOVE.

The “flesh” or human reasoning is easily deceived and believes that LOVE is a weak emotion or mindset yet, LOVE has hidden Itself in appearing weak. It is actually a powerful force to be reckoned with.

It’s a Lion and a Lamb... gentle and fierce.....


Most people, if not all will give in and yield to LOVE’s embrace..... like butter, simply melt in the presence of heat....


Of course some may require more heat than others yet, we melt......

GOD is LOVE and is a CONSUMING FIRE....

Gold will melt yet, any impurities in the gold will be consumed.....leaving only pure gold tried in the fire..... only LOVE remains.

Yea, I’m having a philosophical moment and thought I would “think out loud”........

Okay, okay! Where am I going with this thread...... just pondering LOVE and thought you might want to join me and ponder LOVE too.....

There's been a couple of times during my time here on CC where I have tried to discuss the topic of love but the threads tend to drop like a stone in favour of other topics. Quite sad really, since if we don't have love, everything else is useless.
Toove and to understand what love is, is eternally more important than understanding calvanism, pre or post trib or losing your salvation.

Yes breno, but there are times when it just becomes a cliché, and people exploit its usage (verbally speaking). As you implied, and apostle Paul stated, without it, everything else is meaningless, i.e. even having all the supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit. But, let's face it, much, much easier said than done. Sometimes i prefer people to express HOW to love, rather than let's love. That is, appreciating the weakness and cowardice of being selfish, the insecure aspect of retaliation, the ugliness and gluttony of greed, the delusion, hollowness and defiance of arrogance, the depravity and insatiability of vice, etc... .The strength of altruism, the gratitude and reverence of prayer, the soundness and charm in humility, the strength and discipline of self-control ...

I understand what you are saying. When I talk about love, I do not even consider the cliche.
My heart believes without a doubt it's the most important thing, yet it's the hardest thing I find to walk out. My prayer is, almost to tears, as I compare myself to love, that if Jesus would teach me anything, that He would teach me to love.
In comparison, I don't care for doctrines, if I just get one thing right, even if it takes another 40 years, that I learn and know love.

Obviously I can't control if the subject of love has become such a cliche in people's mind to not even consider it a topic to discuss.

No, of course, i didn't mean to give up on the subject, but merely to speculate on the reasons why others might, or that they appear disinterested. Talking about it without elaborating on the logistics of it, just seems flaky (to some), ....and it actually is to a large degree. For it is probably the most profound and powerful sentiment in the universe, and therefore, not for the immature, dull or frivolous. It is so deep, that it demands explanation, ...especially in the world we live in, where it seems almost foolish to love unconditionally for fear that the only thing that you'll get in return is abuse or taken advantage of. Thus, it must be qualified, i believe, not just cited.

Agreed! .... If all go after what truly makes you happy and fulfilled and refuse to settle for less than the best no matter what happens.

Do you think we can accept God into our hearts and still live a life that judges others? God is love so God gives love to sinners while hating their sin, but often we judge persons so we don't speak to some, or look down on them. When we truly accept what Christ gives us and live a life of the righteousness gained through what Christ did for us, shouldn't that acceptance of Christ lead to our acceptance of people?

It should, but it also requires for it to be taught (at the feet of Jesus) and that teaching to renew our mind.

Pretty much exactly what you speak of is what Paul rebuked Peter for, so even though Peter was with Jesus, experienced the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, still had some wrong thinking.

Wisdom has It's role to play.....be careful and understand the difference between a sinner and the wicked..... our Savior, Lord and King gave us an example....... the difference between Pilate and Herod.......

....to Pilate (the sinner) Yeshua/Jesus spoke and to Herod (the wicked - the mocker of God) NOT A WORD WAS SPOKEN........:unsure:
