How do i choose God in life?

Sometimes I just don't know if I'll be able too choose God or just stay distracted. Especially in quiet times like homework I hold on less to God compared to noisy times at school. At school, I hold closely to God and try to talk to him as much as I can while with homework I'm under constant stress of "will I get it done in time?"

Take breaks and read scripture? Background worship music may distract you, it does me, but others find a center there at times with the Lord in certain tasks.

There are times when we have to focus on the task at hand. (Like today I had to work on preparing a lesson. And I thought that "will I get it done in time" thought too 🙂) We can pray before, and after, and also stop what we're doing and pray; but sometimes we must place our immediate attention squarely on a task.
It sounds like you're on the right track regarding choosing God in your life thru your prayerfulness. I suggest the simple discipline of dedicating your day over to God first thing in the morning. This builds your foundation for the day. An example is getting on your knees upon getting out of bed and praying: telling God you surrender to Him and asking Him to lead you that day + praising Him so as to begin an attitude of gratitude and adoration for the day + making requests of Him. Also, reading a chapter in the Bible might really be beneficial!📖 It helps us keep focused on the things of God.

Another way of choosing God is cutting out sin... This may not be relevant to what you were asking idk, but I do know that one of the main things I have practiced that I believe has aided me in prioritizing God is viewing sin as He sees it and forsaking it through His power! Sin divides our heart. The Bible tells us specific sins and the Holy Spirit inside of us convicts us of specific sin in our lives. But we must depend on Him for the ability to turn and keep away from it.

It may sound cliche, but joining with the body of believers at church eliminates distraction too. Hearing God's Word preached and taught and discussed, corporate worship, talking with other believers about life, etc helps to keep us zoned in AND guards against wandering away from God. Church has had a huuuge impact on my life.

Take inventory of where you spend your time. I know you mentioned school and homework. What about in your free time? Do you choose to do things that draw you closer to God and honor Him?

Just food for thought! I'm not a teenager, but I remember those days. Keep seeking His face every. single. day. He will show you the way.

That is awesome that you are holding on to God while at school but, is it because of fear or love?

When I’m afraid, I tend to REALLY seek and hold on to God. God is glad that we reach for Him when we are afraid but, His greatest desire is for us to seek and reach for Him because we love Him.....

He wants us to walk with Him 24/7, not just at school or just during homework - just let Him in, then the real adventure begins - He shows you great and mighty things that you don’t know.... Jeremiah 33:3...

...just ask Him to increase your love for Him and enjoy LOVE......it cast out fear and takes stress away... love shines light and reveals solutions to every problem.... rest in His Love for you while He whispers the answers to all of your questions...

What do i do now when filled with so much love for God? Homework seems less important at times and I want to think of him so much I wonder if i actually will get anything done, but I feel less worried about life just going to God just because I love him! I feel more at peace, but a little reckless in my love in caring less over school. Appreciating him and thinking more about him has given me much less stress... Going to him just in the morning isn't enough!!! Sometimes I just want to keep thinking of him, studying seems tedious, but i know that i need to do it afterwards. I'll probably have to discipline myself to not spend too much time not doing homework

Oh, definitely! We are supposed to pray and think about Him throughout the day, undoubtedly. 🙂
A question to think about is, Where are your grades at? If you're making all F's (which I doubt you are), then you probably do need to spend more time studying... I mean I can so sympathize with your perspective that God is so much more worthy of our focus than school. (I haven't been to college and don't plan on going. Though, I have benefited all my life from my Dad going and getting a good degree...) Ecclesiastes 12:12 (I don't Think I'm using that out of context.) 1 Timothy 4:8. Acts 4:13 says Peter and John were unschooled ordinary men.
Nevertheless, there are many Scriptures urging diligence and the labor of the hands. Colossians 3:23 tells slaves to do their work (whatever they do) heartily to God and not unto men. How do you think God views your degree of applying yourself in school? Is He pleased? Has He shown you part of His will for your life- does that include college? Discipline is good.
From your posts you remind me of King David. But even he, who had such a worshipping heart for God, had responsibilities in the kingdom that he had to focus on.

My grades have been okay. Studying for things like pre cal where classes seem so difficult to understand is what has been making me upset for the most part... I feel okay with busy work in school, but stuff so difficult to understand and needs a bunch of studying is what has stressed me out. Apart of me doesn't want to try and apart of me just wants to drop pre cal because of how I've felt about it. I'm okay with learning, but such a hard class to understand that i feel like i'll never use in real life doesn't feel worth it at times... I've tried in school to mostly make 90's or 85's at least, and i've done okay with that, I know I shouldn't just slack off, but some classes like Pre cal just seem ridiculous

Yes, definitely get your studies done and get a college degree but, do it WITH God.......

I remember in elementary school, I had been sick and missed a few days. Upon my return, I had to take a spelling test which I had not studied for. When the teacher called out the word "through," I had absolutely no idea of how to spell that word! lol!

I remember just simply asking God, "Lord, how do You spell that word?" I just wrote down what I heard in my head....t...h...r...o..u...g...h. I looked at it and thought to myself, "There is no way that is right, oh well."

Well, the next day, the teacher was so upset that I was the only one in the class that got that word right!

I remember how she yelled at the class that I should not have been able to spell that word because I had been absent. I sat quietly, totally amazed that God had actually told me how to spell the word "through." lol!

Without God, stress from homework is too overwhelming, and with God his love is too overwhelming at times to do homework without smiling and feeling too much like i want to start praising Him! I feel so reckless the less worried i am, but then I feel in stable enough to do homework! It's not terrifying then, it's just eating broccoli at that point, I'm not a fan of it, I want to return to focusing on God, but I'm willing to do it.

I think your too worried about it.
When doing homework, just do your homework. You can pray before and after if it suits you. God knows your obligations and expects you to do your tasks well. Commit the task to him and do the task. God does not expect you to have divided attention and to fail at your obligations. In fact if you do well in you tasks, you bring glory to God, because of your faithfulness.
