I would ask Him if we can be guaranteed that we have saved others through faith in prayer alone, despite lack of evidence that they HAVE been saved in this world. Just because we asked in faith. Some folk keep telling me otherwise but I am not sure why.
There are many I know that are afflicted with addiction, drugs and illness where they are so lost that they “cannot remember themselves” through no fault of their own. They seem without help so are helpLESS. They just cannot take the pain of their illness or living with a broken heart, so they seek a way of it with these things.
Side effects or the misuse of prescription drugs can sometimes “switch off” people's emotions or ability to think rightly, making them incapable of normal thought patterns or conviction of certain realities. All for (rightly or wrongly) following a doctors advice as a remedy for pain relief.
Even if we see no sign of them believing in Jesus Christ in others on the outside, many may have private prayer later in life, or even on their deathbed in their last hours.
But even not seeing them do so and despite no evidence in that person, are we sure that OUR prayer in faith has given them salvation, without them doing anything?
I have prayed so earnestly for so long for those I love. I often have wondered if God has got tired of listening to me. But then I remember the prayer of the widow and the unrighteous judge as the hassle factor can work on earth so how much more will our Father in Heaven hear us? At the time I was praying I was sure in faith and still am. But others keep saying no despite what Scripture says. I am not wavering. I am just asking so I can refute this to others who may gain peace of heart from it if they pray in faith as well as I have for others. After all, it is Gods will that all be saved. So the question would be
"Are my loved ones saved by my earnest prayer alone, just because I asked, as faith can move mountains right"?
“Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.” (Matthew 21.21)
“Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” (Mark 11.24)
“And we will receive from Him whatever we ask, because we keep His commandments and do what is pleasing in His sight” (1 John 3 22)
“And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us” (1 John 5.14)
“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” (John 15.7)
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you” (John 16.23)
“But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavers is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.” (James 1.6)
