No. It doesnt. That is why I started this thread.
I wish it did. My ego gets in the way.
Tolerance of different people and views is needed these days especially.
How do we have strong views and be tolerant at the same time?
I fear as I get older my crusty old persective will just become more crusty. 😁

Well, guess I differ from others then. As I have aged, I have become more tolerant of the ideas/opinions of others. Through the experiences of life, I have learned that while my ideas/beliefs are good for me, they may not be for everyone else, just as theirs are not for me.

Kindness, in my opinion, differs from tolerance, but I can see the connection. Kindness comes from the heart, tolerance from the mind.

Both of these are essential to believers though. Mayhaps they are inclusions of Christian humility?

I think you said it correctly when you said my ego gets in the way. I work in a drug/alcohol facility... I have learned to ask questions when I really don't understand.... And there is a HUGE difference between a backbone and intellorance.... Then there is ego... another word for flesh. That is just sin to pray and repent to God about....
If you are Biblically I hope you are intolerant of wrong theology.... with love or if you are like me with sarcasm (my sense of humor) and love ...lol... And some people are just offencive, idiots.... suck it up it is life on life's terms on line, while you'll find others kind and sweet...

Where do you draw the line? Pedophiles? Rapists? Murderers? Abusers?

How much are you suggesting we tolerate?
Repentant pedophiles, rapists, murderers and abusers are who Jesus came to save. We are all sinners.
Can we tolerate the person without tolerating their view? Maybe not eh

Yes, only because we see people thru the eyes of Jesus.... Unsaved going to hell, saved going to heaven.... I know some disgusting humans that death would be better for society but their soul is worth something.... So they should get saved then die because they are worthless as humans.... You have know idea how much I mean that.... I do not feel bad or in the wrong so I really do not care if someone tells me off!!!!

Yeah tolerance is a tricky one I admit. Yet intolerance is not pretty either.

We as people owe a debt to society... That is how God set it up with the death penalty, and it has not changed. A person on death row for killing and eating people, or raping and torturing children should die but I pray they get saved first and YES they WILL GO TO HEAVEN!!!! But still have to pay a debt to society....

I think this is pushing the envelope on where you were going but let's look at the big picture....

I bet some of those death row inmates are happy to be executed. the sooner the better. living in prison would be no picnic.

Only if they get saved first .... But I believe they (some do) but still owe the debt... Crazy right that we (America) keep them there for 20 years or more....

I think I have a tendency toward some being kind, but only if it’s convenient for me. Sadly that’s the flesh part. It’s God that helps me to be kind when I kinda don’t feel like it.

Patience I can say no way I am naturally impatient. Tolerant? Slightly... I try to put myself in others shoes often times when I’m being slighted or treated unfairly, but I am by no means like that always.

I dont tolerate bullying.
When I see someone bullying someone else, I tell them to cut it out. Or I kick them out of the library. Not literally, but I show them the door. Sometimes its a kindness to be intolerant.

Otherwise how did Jesus ever cast out demons. He wasnt hugging the afflicted, it would be like admiring a dirty window instead of giving it a clean.

judgment is one thing -
opinion is another -

1COR. 6:2.
Do you not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you,
are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
in the 'body of the true Church, we are to avoid 'un-righteous judgment' - the scripture tells us,
MATT. 7:1.
Judge not, that you be not judged.

we don't have to be perfect to make a correct 'judgment', not to be confused with the sentence,
but the scripture plainly tells us 'what is right and what is wrong'...

if our true 'motive' is the succor and help our brethren, then we are in Jesus' will...
