Yet I answered your question. So not sure where this is coming from.
A denomination is a particular type of church, The bible does not talk about denomination, It spoke of a church or body of believers in a particular city (like the church at Rome, or the church at Corinth, or the church at Ephesus)
The only difference today is that church in each city meet in different places in different denominations. Yet just like in those days, there were false churches (gatherings) also. who proclaimed christ, only today, those groups also are composed of different denominations
remember, the term church means a gathering, or a group of people who gather together in an assembly. Sadly today, people here it and think they mean a church building which is a building where a particular denomination meets.
John said that people who claimed to believe in Chrit but now no longer believe in christ have never been saved (in his words, they were never OF US, for if they WERE OF US they never would have departed ,they departed to PROVE they were never of us)
ie. they went to church and were considered part of the church, but now have fallen away, because they NO LONGER BELIEVE IN CHRIST, yet they never had faith in christ, because if they did, they never would have fallen away.
I never said it was a doctrinal issue, so not sure why you would think I have..

You said the number of chuches teaching what you think is the "true gospel" getting smaller and smaller. That`s doctrine. Maybe you forget you said that.
As to denomination in the Bible. Circumcision, Uncircumcision. The two groups would be considered denominations as we look at them today.
