I’ve been a believer in Christ for a few years now. I’ve also built a relationship with God over the last few years. At this present moment, I feel I need him more than anytime before. I’ve been praying faithfully and trusting in the Lord that he will make my troubles go anyway. My current financial situation has brought me down and I’m slowly questioning everything. I’m in the constant stay of worry. It’s been difficult to keep my faith especially in the current situation I am. I’ve never felt as if God forsaken before until now. I know he is listening to my cries at night as well as my prayers. And I know I’m going about this the wrong way so I ask if someone could pray for me. I beat myself up this pass week because I know I have one more day to come up with rent and my financial situation has not changed. I pray that God continues to bless each and every single person in this chat!
Thank You
God Bless
Amen
Hello mindy92,
I’ve been praying faithfully and trusting in the Lord that he will make my troubles go anyway.
"In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in various trials so that the proven character of your faith—more precious than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ."
The Lord said that we (believers) would have trials and tribulation, which includes financial, health, persecution and even death, which is for the testing of our faith, therefore we need to recognize those things that God allows in our lives as the testing of our faith. When these trials come, we need to trust in God understanding that there is nothing in all creation that is hidden from Him and all things are laid bare before Him. In addition, all things are possible for Him, noting is impossible. Since the entire creation exists and is held together by Him and continues on its course by His word, then our problems are not too big for Him to handle. Remember also that Jesus sits at the Father's right hand making intersession for each believer.
I’ve never felt as if God forsaken before until now.
And He still has not forsaken you. We have to remember, that our salvation is not based on our prosperity. Consider the following the scripture:
"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall
trouble or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?"
"No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
The above is true for those who continue in faith. Therefore, when these trials come, whatever they may be, it does not mean that God has abandoned us or that we have lost our salvation, but it is for the trying our faith. Remember also that Jesus said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you."
I would also remind you of all of the hero's of faith, Abraham, Job, Gideon, Moses, Jacob and many, many more. Think about what Paul went through, receiving 39 lashes five time, beaten with rods, at times hungry and cold, spending a night and day in the open ocean. And what about Job? In one day all of his sons and daughters killed and all that he had gone. Then later, his health was taken away, all were trials to see if Job would curse God to His face, by the prompting of Satan.
And consider Gideon. With 300 men God defeated the Midianites and Amalekites whose numbers were settled in the valley as thick as locusts. When the 300 hundred trumpets blew and they broke their jars with torches inside and said “A sword for the Lord and for Gideon!", God caused all of the people in the valley to turn their swords on each other. And so, God delivered thousands and thousands into the hands of Gideon and his 300 men.
This is the same God that you and I and all true Christians belong to. I know that it is grievous to go through these trials, but they are necessary for the testing and strengthening of our faith.
I will keep you in prayer that God would be gracious and merciful, being the Lord your provider in answer to your financial situation and for strengthening of your faith. Just remember that no matter what happens, it does not mean that God has abandoned you and that you can still count on His promise of salvation and eternal life.
Blessings in Christ!
