(It's ok to list a few if you want, I'll do so since it's so hard to pick.)

One favorite of mine is prophet Samuel, hard to word why I like Samuel but I do.
And also apostle Thomas, this hardcore "give me evidence" guy who finally realizes faith is also the means of acquiring the truth.
And apostle Paul, I feel strong sympathy for him because of the "thorn in his side" he had to endure. In spite of knowing he was forgiven, he wrestled with regret all his life because he persecuted the church of God. It is so horrible that we cannot undo the things we once chose to do.

Might have even posted this once in the past, but I really like hearing from people who left the most impression on them from the Bible and why. Besides Jesus of course.

Well........there are many to chose from for sure......and the list would be long......God listed three men and said IF it were possible to be delivered by one's own righteousness, these three would be it......Daniel being one of the three listed.......Me on the other hand will pick a man that I am most like.....

Samson.....he makes the 11th chapter of Hebrews as a man of faith....his name carries the idea of a shooting star.....burns bright but quick....He could have been the one of the greatest judges in Israel and yet failed many times...at the end of his life what he could have been comes into perspective....while chained to the columns of a temple dedicated to a false Philistine god, he prays and asks for his strength back to avenge himself of his eyes that were put out by the Philistines, and the strength to pull the columns down upon himself which he knew would result in his own demise.......GOD answered YES, and he killed more Philistines in that moment than he had killed in his whole life....7000 Philistine Lords........

I suppose that many a man and woman could do and be so much for God and in the end our worst enemy turns out to be ourselves and our own weaknesses.......

Oh, what could be...............

I took it like they did but they were like nah, I'll still just say Jesus anyway, lol.
When we set any other additional characters apart, it's because they reminded us of our own life and struck a chord.
It was always interesting for me to hear those stories.
Samson was a force to be reckoned with. Yes action in God's power is like an atomic blast!
How much time have I wasted focusing and wallowing in my own weaknesses. It's not really a fantastic thing to fill the mind with.

Lovely post... I went to go into the Word to try and remember one of the men or women God has used most to encourage me or help me in my walk....

Ended up reading john 11 and shedding a tear at the thought of Jesus weeping....

Lazarus was used by God used to show us many things....

One of which was the power our savior has over death....

23 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.

24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.

25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

27 She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.

28 And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth for thee.

29 As soon as she heard that, she arose quickly, and came unto him.

30 Now Jesus was not yet come into the town, but was in that place where Martha met him.

31 The Jews then which were with her in the house, and comforted her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up hastily and went out, followed her, saying, She goeth unto the grave to weep there.

32 Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

33 When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled.

34 And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see.

35 Jesus wept.

36 Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!

37 And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died?

38 Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.

39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.

40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?

41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.

42 And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.

43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.
___________

another was a wonderful example of how the trials of this world, when we feel like we are without.... will not compare to what we are freely given in heaven and saved from in luke 16.....

I do not know if I can call lazarus a favorite.... but I know that God loved this man and he was used to remind me of some very important lessons today as I have been facing troubles in my own life regarding.... being without

God bless you soulweaver and thank you for this

Hahaha...well it is dern near impossible to pick. Ok not near impossible, it is, for me, IMPOSSIBLE, lol. I narrowed it down, hahaha.
I hear ya....there are many that I enjoy.....but too be honest......the ones like Samson impress me the most....why you might ask....because they show the weak human side and remind me that ALL the power, righteousness etc. rests with GOD........

This is the song I thought of with this thread. It is a picture of Peter's journey and thoughts he may have had and there is regret in the song but also redemption.

I would have to go with Paul because his humanity clearly shone through and I can relate to that.

Ah yes Peter. The Peter's moment that really sticks with me is when Jesus asks him three times Do you love me, and poor Peter is heartbroken thinking that he's lost Jesus' trust forever.

The blind man who had his sight restored in John 9. The very day he received sight, he stood up to the Pharisees. That’s cool 😎

Wow that is quite symbolic as well. When Jesus opens our eyes we can also stand up to the self righteous that preach Moses over God's grace and think they see and know. Wow I've never seen it until you pointed it out like that...

I'm going with the ladies. Ruth, Esther, Hannah and Abigail. Their unwavering faith is simply stunning. And they are filled with Grace in everything they do.
