Wow, you got no answer.
Interesting...
So the answer is not definitive for sure. I know the Bible says that we have purpose I that it gives us duties, and definition such as glorify God, and to serve him and such. As for why he would create the human race isn't really layed out in definitive terms.

neither wild plants nor grains were growing on the earth. For the Lord God had not yet sent rain to water the earth, and there were no people to cultivate the soil.

The Lord God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to tend and watch over it.
Genesis 2:5‭, ‬15

He was in need of a gardener 😋

Also He was alone and wanted a family. He is our 'Father' in Heaven and we are His 'children'. He has prepared an eternal home for us w/Him in His glorious kingdom, to be with Him and worship Him forever. How good is that!

I believe that you are correct as to why God created us.

I am fairly confident he was not alone.....The bible states clearly the SONS of GOD sang when God cast down creation and it is equally evident that the HEAVENLY HOST was present.............

Of course, but they are not His 'children'. They seem to be part of Him created to worship and do His will, where He created us as a family.

Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. (Rev 4:11)

I can be in a crowded room of people yet, not be loved. The feeling of being all alone can be the same as separated from love.

God is Love......Love’s greatest NEED is to love and be loved. God created ALL of creation including man for a loving relationship.

God absolutely refuses to live without us. We have to know Him first then we can love Him.

Please read and study your Bibles, get to know Him so you can fall in love with Him...

You won’t want to live without Him either!(y)

I don't think it was just for one reason.. Some have given their thoughts in this thread and i am in agreement with Lafftur's response that God is Love and Love needs Someone other then self to Love..

But i also believe from reading the Holy Bible that God also created this creation ( physical universe with physical beings within it ) as a stage where the satanic challenge could be demonstrated as being without merit.. Thus satanic challenge is also known as the great controversy..

This great controversy stems from the claim of the former Cherubim Angel Lucifer ( now know as Satan / devil /serpent of old) that He and the other Angels had the right to claim Godhood and be Gods equal to God Himself..

Thus God created the Creation in such a way that satan would believe he could sabotage it.. Satan soon did so by enticing Eve and Adam into attaining the knowledge of good and evil.. From that point on Gods creation was no longer "Good" As God had declared it to be on the last day of creation..

I believe satan though he had God between a rock and a hard place.. In a no win situation.. If God was Good ( and He is) then God should have immediately destroyed the now corrupted creation.. Once God did that then satan could have claimed to the Heavenly Host that God was not perfect because Gods creation had failed and thus God being a failure could not justly claim to be rightfully the one and only God of all existence.. Conversely if God had allowed His now imperfect creation to continue to exist then satan could declare to the heavenly Host that God was not perfect because God was allowing an imperfect creation to continue to exist.. Thus again satan would claim to the heavenly Host that God was unjustified in being the God of all existence..

Of course God knew the third Way.. To be long suffering towards His creation and put in place a plan to Redeem His Creation and justly bring it back into a Good state of being with Him in Eternity.. Once God carried out the plan through the intervention of the Atonement of the LORD Jesus Christ, the satanic challenge was effectively defeated and satan was revealed as the evil one and worthy of eternal damnation.. I believe God foreknew all of this at the start of His creation effort.. God had already won the moment satan was twisted by his pride..

So in the end God will be willingly acknowledged by both the Heavenly Host and the saved and resurrected Saints as the rightfully and justified one and only God of all existence.. God will have His beloved Eternal Children to love and a joyful angelic host serving Him willingly without question or doubt..

Does the bible tell us why God created man?
Hi Perfection, it's not a statement directly from the Bible, but I like what the Westminster Shorter Catechism's Q & A #1 has to say concerning this. Scripture references are included.

Q. What is the chief end of man?
A. Man’s chief end is to glorify God, (a) and to enjoy Him for ever. (b)

My views: An event happened in Heaven which shook heaven its core. It was unthinkable and mind blogging: Revelation 12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
After every war there is an aftermath. God decide to do something that was as mind blogging as the war: Genesis 1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
God went even further: Genesis 1:26-27 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
God is not a God chance He does everything for a purpose: Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
God had a purpose for His new creation.
Similarities between God’s angels and first Adam: Both were created sinless, both knew God was the Father (no parents). Both fellowshipped with God face to face. Both were divine beings even though Adam and Eve were naked.
Differences: Man was create on earth never experience heaven (planted on earth). Man committed sin and became flesh. Fallen angels were cast out of heaven became demonic spirits, hell became their kingdom.
Under the Old Testament covenant, man could return to heaven for eternity. (unfortunately man was unfaithful)
Under the New Testament covenant, man can only have eternity through the blood of Christ (cross)
The fallen angels can never return to heaven:
Revelation 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
While sinful man can if they believe Jesus Christ is the Messiah: Acts 15:11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.
The purpose of man was OBEDIENCE to God’s Word to which unfortunately Adam and Eve failed but today, sinful man can still have eternity, through God’s Grace by Jesus Christ
For a sinner there’s only one sin that covers all sin that will separate them from God:
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life: UNBELIEF
For a Born Again believer, there’s one sin that will keep you out of heaven:
1 Samuel 15:22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice………………. OBEDIENCE

No offence Laffy, but I do not think the analogy works or can be applied unto the context of the Sons of God being there and singing when God cast down creation.....nor can it apply to us because....it is NOT that we loved him, but that he LOVED US and gave himself for us....
