Please help finding a verse

I read a verse a while back that talked about someone following their path and how it appeared to everyone around them that the individual was going the wrong way, and to ignore them.

I only read it once I believe and my searches have turned up empty.

Proverbs 2 through Proverbs 9 all deal with the path of wisdom and not being distracted, led astray etc. by the wicked that go their own way....try those.....

I would say rather than ignore... give them coals of fire in a hope of cleansing, turning them.

Proverbs 26:4 Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.

Who was to be ignored? The one following their path, or those who thought they were going the wrong way?

There are two similar passages, one in OT and the other in NT:

Has anyone else believed they read a biblical verse at one time but for some reason, you cannot find it again?
Maybe due to the many versions of the Bible OR, maybe you heard something in the spirit that you confused with scripture?

When I first read your OP, the only thing that came to mind was, could you possibly have been thinking of the prophets like Jeremiah, Ezekiel [priest], or Hosea... having to do kind of "different" things... but then I thought, nah, probably not [something like] that. Sorry I cannot be of better help.

Can you recall the particular translation you were reading?

I have a program called “Bibleworks” on my old laptop that has a phenomenal search feature. I often use it when doing serious digging for a verse that I can only vaguely remember.

As far as forgetting, or only remembering snippets of a verse, that is normal, in my world. I often “paraphrase,” and according to a book that looked at the NT quotes from the OT, the Apostles often slightly modified their quotes for their audience.

The problem is, I only read it one time and my specific word remembrance is not accurate.

I only began reading on the regular about 3-4 years ago and usually topic search when an uneasy feeling is present.
In time, I believe I will see it again and when I do, I will revive this post...
