I think this can be difficult to do, and I love that you have recognized it's an issue.
Whenever I find myself trying to control a situation, it can fall into manipulation. Therefore, I gotta take a step back and say, "I cannot control this situation. I can only do what I can do in this situation and pray that God gives me peace with the things I can't control."
