Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
If a person hates sin, and does not want sin, by the Spirit they can abstain from sin.
So if it is possible to act like Christ then there is no excuse why it cannot be done.
2Ti 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
1Co 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
1Co 15:34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
The saints that are sealed are the ones that depart from iniquity.
Rom 11:20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
Rom 11:21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
Rom 11:22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
If a person does not continue in the goodness of God they will be cut off like the Jews that did not comply were cut off.
Isa 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
Heb 3:9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.
Heb 3:10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.
Heb 3:11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)
Heb 3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
Heb 3:13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
The deceitfulness of sins in a person's life will cause them to depart from the living God, for our sins separate us from God.
Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
Heb 10:27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
If a person holds unto sin then the blood of Jesus cannot wash it away because they will not give it up, which many say they cannot abstain from sin then that means they are holding on to sin.
Jas 5:19 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;
Jas 5:20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
If a person that has been saved holds unto sin they are considered a sinner again, and their soul is in the position of death, and they need to be converted again.
1Co 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
Gal 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
1Th_1:3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;
Charity, love in action, works, is greater than faith, and faith works by love.
No love, no faith, and love has to be done in works.
Faith is a work, for all we think, do, and believe is a work.
Rom 13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
Love is the fulfilling of God's law, and there is no asset greater than love, and love only goes by their needs, and helps the poor and needy with their needs.
1Co 13:5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
1Co 13:6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth.
Charity is greater than faith, so no charity then no faith, and charity is not a part time thing, or partial, but has to be done all the time.
Paul said that charity does not think an evil thought, and does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth to abstain from sins led by the Spirit for God hates sin.
If a person does not depart from iniquity then they do not love for love does not sin, then their faith lacks.
1Co 9:26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
1Co 9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
adokimos
ad-ok'-ee-mos
From G1 (as a negative particle) and G1384; unapproved, that is, rejected; by implication worthless (literally or morally): - castaway, rejected, reprobate.
Paul said if he did not abstain from sin he would be a castaway.
1Co 13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
Paul said he could have all faith, so that he could remove mountains, but if he did not have charity then he is nothing.
1Ti 6:5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
1Ti 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
Paul said if they teach that God blesses them with money and material things to withdraw yourself from them, for God only blesses us with our needs, and not our wants.
1Ti 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
The love of money is the root of all evil for it neglects the poor and needy, and love is the fulfilling of the law, and anybody that enjoys money and material things above their needs falls victim to it, and they have erred from the faith.
Jas 2:14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
Jas 2:15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
Jas 2:16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
Jas 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
James said without charity then their faith is dead.
1Jn 3:17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
1Jn 3:18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
John said without charity the love of God does not dwell in them, so do not love in word, or in tongue, but in deed, works, and in truth.
Jas 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
They ignore James that said a person is justified by works, and not faith only, and they do not harmonize scriptures, for they do not want to harmonize scriptures.
Rev 2:4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
Rev 2:5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
Rev 3:2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.
Rev 3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
Jesus said if their works were lacking, or not perfect before God, that they are to repent, and if not He would go against them.
2Ti 3:4 lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
2Ti 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Php 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Some people when they confess Christ do not want to give up sins, and want to enjoy money and material things above their needs, enjoying things that are not a necessity to survive which neglects the poor and needy, for they love enjoying their wants above loving people.
But have an excuse that they are alright despite their sins.
They are ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth for they will not let go of the flesh, but want to enjoy things of the flesh and believe it does not affect their relationship with God.
The Bible says turn away from these people.
For the Lord knows them that are His having this seal, for this is what seals the saints, and how they are led of the Spirit, that those that name the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
But they do not want to depart from iniquity, but want to enjoy sins, fleshy pleasures, and enjoy their wants, money and material things above their needs.
