From the beginning of creation to this present day, God has never been outwitted or overcome. Where sin abounds, grace much more.

I have absolutely zero confidence in mortal man's corrupt schemes to become god-like and rule the world. I have ALL confidence that God rules and consumes me in every situation and will continue to into eternity. Nobody is like God.

My whole life has been wrought with trials and tribulations, and in every situation God has proven He is faithful to me and my family. Believe me, I never did anything to deserve it either. Yet God has gripped my life in every circumstance for all these years just to prove He loves me. At this point, I can't even NOT believe Him. I'm so sick of being afraid of what man can do to me. I don't even wanna care or waste my time with it anymore.

Rather than let my mind be shipwrecked all over the place with trying to preserve my life, I choose to cast all my cares to the Lord and safely trust in Him. It's a much sweeter life just resting in God's loving care.

I'm not making this up. I heard it from my adult children, tonight!

He thinks they can place an implant that replaces human reflexes in our brains to replaces normal human responses??? Does that not seem evil?
I do not see the problem if it can help people with disabilities.

It sounds futuristic, but not unlike a pace maker which was once only an idea but has saved many lives.

Yes Auntie, worry is noting but faithlessness. God wants us alert but not worried:

A watchman's job is to watch and sound the alarm if something potentially harmful should appear on the horizon. Not to fight or be afraid of what we see. I have no doubts that all prophecy in the bible will occur some perhaps in our lifetimes. We must not default to complacency but keep on the lookout with our lamps filled with oil and our wicks trimmed because the Lord will come if we ready or not.

Mankind historically has had the knack for turning great new discoveries toward evil uses. Knifes, wheels, black powder and medication have been used against us. Just be aware and keep watch. The Lord will come like a thief in the night. And the tribulation will rise like the tide until it becomes like a tsunami. Most will perish or get swept away. The Lord will return again with the angels and saints to judge and destroy the wicked. He will still the raging seas. Then there will be peace and he will rule for 1000 years.

I think this will morph from a way to help disabled people, to a way to control the military. Might even become a "required" surgery that, if refused, will prevent folks from buying or selling.
I don't like it.

I agree I read recently that a brain implant linked to a mini computer and lenses has restored the sight of five people.
One of them has seen his Wife and Children for the first time. He is Fifty One and lost his sight when he was Nine.
Its believed that within three years the system will be widely available.

Many inventions and discoveries have been beneficial to people. The same have often been condemned as the work of the Devil
including Computers. I wonder how many on site think that way and yet use one to post their comments! Perhaps CC has a hidden stash of letters written with Quill Pens from Anti Computer and KJV enthusiasts.

Agree.
Neuroscience is an amazing field.

Wow, imagine regaining sight after all those years. I have taught Braille (I am sighted) to blind people in the past, I can tell you living with blindness, especially if born blind, is a very difficult life and very few manage to work and be productive.

I agree we are on the way to eradicating blindness, I think this would be awesome.

It is rather ironic .. Quill Pen now that would take some dedication.

You know, there are some things about the internet that I really appreciate. For example, I met my husband through a Christian site. However, there have been times that we've decided to totally shut down or put away the computer and the internet. We will not be able to do that if we had a chip surgically implanted in our brain.

The computer is a necessary evil...one that can be removed, if desired. It can't be compared to something you would have surgically put into your body. And while I recognize that there are some techy things that can be put in the body to help prolong one's life (such as a pacemaker), you can't hack into a pacemaker... You CAN hack into a computer chip. I would not want the risk of the government controlling my actions or thoughts through such a device. And I strongly believe they would if they could.

I wonder how many millions of people ''they'' would have to get though before you and I come to that get this hacked computer chip installed and what circumstances would need to arise before we need a chip in the first place. If god forbid I lost my sight and was offered the chip and computer to restore it would I refuse in case I get hacked I honestly doubt it.

Sadly the report I read said the technology will not work with people born blind because their brains have never had the opportunity to
develop the necessary process to understand vision.

That is very interesting, indeed very sad, well maybe they will get there someday.

Pacemakers have computer chips and theoretically they can be hacked.

This could potentially lead to replacing damaged parts of the brain.
This could potentially help people with brain injuries or stroke victims
We need to stop demonizing technology

In my opinion, I think the idea behind brain implants is for this reason alone - mind control.
