I talking about what seems like gloating! I/you/we should/can call it out anytime in anyone. It just offends the sense of brotherly kindness, and patience we should be demonstrating to young Christians especially! Did you see the "new member" who commented a couple weeks ago; "What's wrong with you people?" ? that's second hand from a young Christian how much more severely do you think Jesus would speak to us? If you answer; "Oh no, we are under grace" then you are misapropriating GRACE and tempting GOD!
"Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone."

Defeat you? Is that what you think this is?

You defeated yourself when you claimed obedience to the law was the means to eternal life. I am just exposing you.

You said obedience to the law is what gives us eternal life.

Thats all we needed to see.

If you thought we were saved by grace, You would say so. But no, You did not. You said we have to obey to be saved.

News flash. You can not obey the law in a manner in which you can be saved.

Do you really wnt me to break your whole post down? I will do it for you. And it will show what I have been saying the past hour or so.
Sure. Break down the whole post. Every line. Don't leave any section out of it like you've been doing. Have at it. Be sure to support your breakdown by full scripture in context. :)

Because the law isn't the problem. You are. I am.

The obedience to the law is what leads to everlasting life. That's why we need Christ in our lives...to empower us to do what Christ did...obey.
The law according to you is the MEANS to eternal life. There is nothign more to add or subtract to.

This is how Christ saved us, to give us his Spirit, to walk as he walked in the flesh.
God saved us to give us the spirit to walk as he lived. While I agree, This is what our salvation produces. You do not stop here.

The job isn't complete until you're dead or transformed.
The job (salvation) is not complete until your dead or transformed.

And just in case you want to say I am misreading or misinterpreting you. You prove my point by your final words.

"He that endures to the end, the same shall be saves."
Ie, Our slavation is not complete. We have to endure (obey) until the end. How do we do this? Let me guess, By the law.

By the way, context of christs words are to people LIVING in the tribulation period. And helpin gthem to ENDURE until Christ returns at the end, to have their PHYSICAL lives saved, it has nothing to do with eternal salvation.

So, as you said, ETERNAL LIFE is earned by oedience to the law.

There you should have left it as it was. You just proved my case even more.

John 11:25-26
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?"

you may want to read Romans 6-8 and find out how it is that we came to be saved from sin.

If you find wisdom you'll even sort out why my avatar and screen name make sense.
lol it was called an example...purposely placed in quotes...followed by the point of the example which was the world "ridiculous" as in "it's pretty ridiculous to worry about such things". And yet you're still talking about YOUR screen name as if I really care or really am offended at a skeleton lol. Come on man..

There you go folks. Nothing more needs said.

This person believes the law is what saves, their you have it in his own words.

You couldn't show me these words but kept removing the portion of me saying "Christ saves us" until I pointed it out again.

THEN YOU POST THIS...

Assuming "mature believer" means someone who also has faith in Christ.

As point of fact, correct, one who knows to do right but willingly does not, to him it is sin.

I'm not sure what you're getting at with the second question though, to be honest...

Let's take tattoos. Let's say prior to Christ a worldly person went and got a body full of tattoos. Now let's say that after coming to Christ they swore off getting tattoos because they read that Israel was commanded not to have tatoos...but his body is full of them, head to toe, and he can't afford to remove them.

Would he be given mercy? Of course. He doesn't want them and wants to be pleasing to Yah but can't do anything about his past. Is wearing tattoos against Yah's law. Yes. But his past was forgiven the moment he converted, and in his heart he wants to be pleasing to Yah and is not willing to have them anymore.

As far as blends, most of us don't make our own clothes. Living is this world of darkness, which was purposely designed to be contrary to the law of Yah (if only many of us knew what time it really was in this great drama), we're in a difficult situation where we MUST do our best to endure.

Can you afford to buy new clothes without blends? If the answer is no but your heart is in the right place not to want to wear them, are you given mercy? Of course. Same as the law of sacrifice. Can't afford to as instructed so mercy is given.

The tablets of the law were always covered by the mercy seat.

The heart that says "meh it's impossible to do so I'm not going to worry about it" is different from the heart that says "I don't know if it's possible to do but I want to do it and I'm going to try my hardest to please Yah by His grace."

One buries his talent of faith underground while the other works his talent of faith to reap a return from it, to make the Master proud when He returns.

Lovely description of a heart which desired to please God!

As one brother used to say, "I don't care if I go to hell in the end I love God and want to please Him no matter what the consequence to me!" Clearly not a works kind of guy, but a guy that has a heart to please God!

Spirits of contention! They contend with anything that stirs grief.

Have you spoke of Enoch before? I have read the book or books and would like to pick your brain some time.

Sincerely

SG

To say eternal life is gained by obedience to the law is a pretty straightforward direct contradiction of the gospel.
The gospel according to Matthew 19:16-17

Just then, a man came up to Jesus and inquired, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to obtain eternal life?” 17“Why do you ask Me about what is good?” Jesus replied, “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.

The gospel according to Mark 10:17-19
As Jesus started on His way, a man ran up and knelt before Him. “Good Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?18“Why do you call Me good?” Jesus replied. “No one is good except God alone. 19 You know the commandments:

The gospel according to Luke 10:25-26

One day an expert in the law stood up to test Him. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?
26“What is written in the Law?

 Is it? Even with the three witnesses above?

Like I've been saying, the gospel of the kingdom is different than the gospel of Christ. They are not the same but are directly tied together.

Acts 16:29-31
29 Calling for lights, the jailer rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. 30 Then he brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

31They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household.”

Freedom from bondage to sin is not the same as entering into the kingdom.

Christ preached the gospel of the kingdom wherever he went, but never once did he tell anyone to teach that he was going to die for sins. In fact, he told them to keep it a secret until after it happened. The gospel of Christ is the good news of what he did on the cross so that we could experience the gospel of the kingdom, everlasting life; so that we finally could obey.

Wouldn't it be easy enough to simply block me EG? But no you won't do that will you, because you must 0_0 defeat me right?

Like I said, dishonest practices. You're doing what the pharisees would do. Below is the full post, at true face value without removal of any other text.

Doesn't matter how many times you quote the incomplete post the full post remains for the record.

Anyone can click on my name below to confirm the full post to see it wasn't added to or taken away from.

...the law isn't the problem. You are. I am.

The obedience to the law is what leads to everlasting life. That's why we need Christ in our lives...to empower us to do what Christ did...obey.

This is how Christ saved us, to give us his Spirit, to walk as he walked in the flesh.

The job isn't complete until you're dead or transformed.

"He that endures to the end, the same shall be saves."

-----

I gave you both the gospel of the kingdom and the gospel of Christ together in one nice succinct post.

- Salvation from Christ isn't everlasting life. It's freedom from the bondage of sin, and receipt of The Holy Spirit.

- Everlasting life, is the promised reward of the kingdom of Heaven; immortal transformed bodies. Glory. Which only comes through obedience becausethe law is life.

One is freedom from the angel of death in Egypt by the lambs blood. The other is the crossing over into the glorious promised land.

Are you freed from sins bondage through the blood of the lamb, EG? Yes, through faith.

Do you currently have everlasting life, EG? No. That comes when Christ returns and rewards the obedient.

"Good master, what must i do to inherit eternal life?"

"Obey the commandments."

"I've done that since I was little."

"Then there's one last thing, sell everything, give the money to the poor and follow me."

Revelation 14:12
"Here is the patience of the saints, they that (a) keep the commandments of God and (b) the faith of Jesus."
I don't understand why good knowledgeable Christians do not heed GODS INSTRUCTIONS. When faced with figs so nasty they can not be eaten, (you know them by their fruit) what are we told to do? Are not these commands to be heeded? Are we allowed to assume we know better than the written word? A quick refresher course on the acceptable and unacceptable actions is to be appreciated.

Another point to ponder is what happens Gods advice is not heeded? Does this turning from Gods Will allow them and their behavior to get worse, and does whatever happens to whoever is next fall on us because we did not obey? They do not want us to obey. They don't even want the laws, they do not want to be ignored.
Jesus is the Living Word, the Word made flesh, There is no concept for some of the reality of "the Spirit of the Law" which is much more encompassing than the letter of the letter.

What purposes? You stop writing from the Heart (What is in our heart?) You start watching out to make sure everything is perfect You no longer write to help the "new, new creations" (the real reason why they come so hard after any mistake you make) In my humble opinion.

If you thin it is that explains alot.

that is not the gospel. that is what God says to someone who rejects Him as God.

did you not say something earlier, about taking verses out of context? does the scripture not say, you who judge, are guilty of the same thing you accuse? read the verse before each of these, where Christ reproves and instructs this man, saying, why do you call me good, since no one is good except God alone?

since this man does not believe the Lord is who He is, there is no hope for him to have life in any other way but through the law - yet this is not hope at all, because "no one is good, but God alone"

you keep demonstrating to me that you do not understand what you are reading.

the gospel is here, in the verses you skipped - no one is good but God alone, and Christ, the Shepherd, the Good One, is God.

the law is not of faith: but, the man that doeth them shall live in them.
(Galatians 3:12)
